2020 Feb 21 Proverbs 6, Psalm 119 Stanza 13B
Welcome, continuing the wise fatherly counsel of Proverbs 1-9. Let's look at Proverbs 6, verses 23-29, then move to Psalm 119 stanza 13B, verses 101-104.
"23 For
the commandment is a lamp, And the law is a light, And the reproofs of
discipline are the way to life. 24 They will guard you against the bad
woman, Against the seductive tongue of the immoral woman. 25 Do not
desire her beauty in your heart Or allow her to captivate you with her
alluring eyes, 26 For because of a prostitute, a man is reduced to a
loaf of bread, But the wife of another man preys on a precious life. 27
Can a man rake fire to his chest and not burn his garments? 28 Or can a
man walk on hot coals without scorching his feet? 29 It is the same with
anyone having relations with his neighbor’s wife; No one who touches
her will go unpunished."
Prove 6:23 God's specific commands brighten and help to guide each step, while his law lightens our path, or the road ahead. The "reproofs of discipline", "reproof" referring to strong but loving counsel or correction, are said to be "the way to life." May we strive hard not to pridefully refuse such counsel when given, especially when we know we need it. Or we may need to strive harder to fight our pride when we don't think we need it! Often we really do but don't think we do! Regardless, it usually requires great love for a parent or someone else to approach us with such reproof--they may have prayed to Jehovah for the wisdom to do so properly. Let's aim to be thankful for such counsel, even if we have a hard time swallowing it, and even if we are not sure if we deserved it. Perhaps it would be best to soon after pray to Jehovah about the matter, searching our heart for how best to apply what we've heard or received. Remember, that "those whom Jehovah loves he disciplines, in fact, he scourges everyone whom he receives as a son.” Therefore, 1Peter 5:5-7 says "But all of you clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God opposes the haughty ones, but he gives undeserved kindness to the humble ones. 6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that he may exalt you in due time, 7 while you throw all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you."

Prove
6:24-25 These "reproofs of discipline," along with God's laws and
commands, will guard one against the "seductive tongue" of an immoral
woman, and with appropriate warnings should move us to steer far away
from desiring her beauty in our heart. We should reserve such desire for
the spiritual and physical beauty of the wife that God can allow us to
find, being captivated by her eyes, and no one else's. Recall that the
punishment for immorality in the Mosaic Law provided by God was severe,
bringing strong repercussions, or consequences. This was to teach
mankind the seriousness of the offense, that the effects spiritually and
perhaps physically are significantly detrimental, promoting disloyalty
to God and others, and toward the bond or covenant of marriage, which we
should rather want to treasure and appreciate for an eternity!
"26 For because of a prostitute, a man is reduced to a loaf of bread, But the wife of another man preys on a precious life."
Prove
6:26 What are some of the consequences of being seduced by an immoral
woman, be she a prostitute or the wife of another man? Regarding the
prostitute, the verse says the man is "reduced to a loaf of bread."
Clearly, any material wealth is squandered, over time, as she entices
him to give up what he has. Both the man and the woman are shown willing
to violate God's standards to get what they want, not living a life of
honest integrity. Thus they are not having God's approval, blessing, or
prosperity by Him. If the woman is the wife of another man, she "preys
on a precious life," as the violation of adultery is a serious violation
of trust and loyalty, that threatens the very life, spiritually and
physically, of those involved. These days, however, we must keep in mind
that God can completely understand the motives and circumstances. If
repentance is shown, it is up to the wronged mate to decide whether to
forgive the erring one, and work to restore trust in the relationship.
Willfully choosing to continue sexual intercourse with the erring one is
evidence that such forgiveness has been extended. If there are problems
in the marriage to begin with, rather than violating any of God's
standards, can we not promptly beseech Jehovah, the Originator of the
Marriage Arrangement, for His assistance?
"27 Can a man rake fire to his chest and not burn his garments? 28 Or can a man walk on hot coals without scorching his feet? 29 It is the same with anyone having relations with his neighbor’s wife; No one who touches her will go unpunished."
Prove 6:27-29 We
must realize and look for the consequences of our behavior before doing
something or making some decision that may be important. This is shown
by the illustration of raking fire to one's chest. There are
consequences. Will not one's garments get burned? Such is an apt
illustration regarding immorality, as such an act will sully spiritual
garments--our Christian identification and many Christlike qualities can
be seriously damaged, leaving off vital faith or trust in God and
faithfulness to Him and others. Also, if you would walk on hot coals,
would there not be an effect? Would it not scorch your feet? We should
never undervalue the spiritual implications of our behavior, just
because we may not yet understand all of the effects. God's loving
warning should be enough until we do. It is an aspect of divine wisdom,
foresighted shrewdness, or prudence, that involves seeing the
consequences of our actions and decisions, so as to hate and avoid the
wrong path. Proverbs 22:3 accordingly cautions: "The shrewd one sees the
danger and conceals himself, But the inexperienced keep right on going
and suffer the consequences."

PSALM 119 STANZA 13B
STANZA 13 Theme: KEEP GOD'S WORD.
The 8 verses of this stanza address questions such as these: What are these two aspects of divine wisdom, and how are they beneficial? Why was the psalmist motivated to avoid evil, and how does obeying God deepen our wisdom?
Stanza 13B reads like this:
101 I refuse to walk on any evil path,So that I may keep your word.
102 I do not turn aside from your judgments, For you have instructed me.
103 How sweet your sayings are to my palate,More so than honey to my mouth!
104 By your orders I act with understanding.That is why I hate every false path.

TAUGHT BY JEHOVAH. God’s “judgments” are decisions or evaluations made by examining an issue in truth according to His law. Psalm 19:9 speaks of the fear of God and His judgments: “9 The fear of Jehovah is pure, lasting forever. The judgments of Jehovah are true, altogether righteous.” Regarding what can be learned from them, Isaiah says at 26:9, “9 In the night I long for you with my whole being, Yes, my spirit keeps looking for you; For when there are judgments from you for the earth, The inhabitants of the land learn about righteousness.” Isaiah was a prophet commissioned to declare God’s word and judgments to Israel, even those regarding other nations. Thus when Jehovah judges a people or a nation, much can be learned by all about God’s right ways, and what’s required by Him. The psalmist was moved to acknowledge God’s judgments because he had been instructed by Jehovah, as Isaiah 54:13 says of God’s servants: “13 And all your sons will be taught by Jehovah, And the peace of your sons will be abundant.” Jesus continues this thought, saying at John 6:45: “...Everyone who has listened to the Father and has learned comes to me.” May we likewise appreciate and heed God’s right and wise judgments or decisions, ever pleasing Him, fearing to hurt Him in any way.

TREASURE SAYINGS OF GOD. What we learn from God can be compared to food, vital for sustaining life! In fact, Jesus opened his famous Sermon on the Mount with these words: “3 “Happy are those conscious of their spiritual need, since the Kingdom of the heavens belongs to them.” We have a need spiritually just as we have a physical need for life-sustaining water and food. Jesus also emphasized this when being tempted by Satan, saying at Matthew 4:4 “...It is written: ‘Man must live, not on bread alone, but on every word that comes from Jehovah’s mouth.’” Jesus was the word of God, a spokesman for Him, and how disciples appreciated the words spoken by him about his Father and the doing of His will. Such sayings of God may become delightful to us, like real honey from the honeycomb, usually beneficial to us! (Prove 24:13). May we treasure the wisdom of God found in His beneficial sayings as largely recorded in His word, and come to live by them!

GOD'S ORDERS PROMOTE UNDERSTANDING. More than just avoiding an evil path out of love for God, the psalmist came to “hate every false path.” Psalm 97:10 accordingly says: “10 O you who love Jehovah, hate what is bad. He is guarding the lives of his loyal ones; He rescues them from the hand of the wicked.” By coming to know some of the harm of badness, the reasons God warns us against certain things, we can be helped to develop a beneficial hatred for all such badness. Clearly, He warns us from bad out of great love for us, to protect us from spiritual or other harm. But notice, the psalmist came to hate a false path by giving attention to God’s orders, and coming to act with understanding. May we likewise search out God’s most important and urgent commands, that we may keep them whole-heartedly, growing in wisdom and gaining the understanding necessary to see problems associated with false or dishonest ways of no lasting benefit.

NOTE: Of course, my primary focus is on this nation and things related to my doing and being what God has prepared me to do, be, etc. As regards the 400-day calendar, now the 7-day is off about 16 days for the year, and I noticed that the 1st of August, being a Friday, could be an entry point, if it was accepted and organized properly. Many companies could give workers off that day, with one more day off following, then it would be Sunday but essentially Monday/Moonday of the new calendar, the 18th of Month 7 Huli, for another 5 days work, unless the Sunday was also given off, for a 4-day workweek, then still another 2 days off, before the next 5-day workweek would lead to the 4-day week-ending break. Thus technically Month 7 would be extended, while both calendars can be understood and acknowledged, going from the 7-Day to the 8-Day Calendar. There are ways to pad the 7-day calendar to better line up with the 8-Day going forward, so the seasons do not continue to get off-kilter year after year from the 7-day, as a transitional calendar, which is excellent for planning and correlating dates, etc. to the new calendar. I urge many to think about how this transition would be implemented in what you or your team does, as over half the world knows that this is the true calendar, and has already transitioned to it, and even much of the United States was acknowledging it as the true calendar astronomically, scientifically, etc. for a considerable time last year. At least we might get the conversation going again, with God really having intervened to bring about this change--are some having difficulty realizing God's love for all? This time of consideration actually leads to a period of three weeks (!) where the two calendars nearly match up on the weekends, confirming this as an excellent time to look into transitioning, which again was being considered and in some practice at times previously here in the U.S., where the revealing of God's intervention and calendar originated. The third weekend mentioned has the 16th-17th of August aligning with Days 7-8 (31st-32nd) of the final weekend of Huli, Month 7. (As regards days 32-33 or 34 of months, new computer data fields have been created for the new calendar, different from what has been in place for the 7-day, to accommodate. Another thing has come to my attention--my work on restoring God's true name. At one point I was clarifying God's name to be JEHOVAHZ, not Jehovalz. Someone with power attempted to take credit for this, and try to cause confusion about JEHOVALZ, which is now understood to be one of the three GODs that make up the Complete JEHOVAHZ. While knowing Him as a GOD of Vows/Valz, altogether He brings things about, especially His will, in many ways, not only by the keeping of Promises. I'll be updating the website accordingly, and the NAMES of God and Christ article, to again reflect this position. The reason this may be better is that we, as the United States, should not be ignoring the 8-Day Calendar, which half the world is already on, as a step forward in life, toward a greater world of peace, with God's blessing. After all, it originated here, in the U.S. with God's blessing on me, so why should we consider being the last to begin using it, unless we're helping others to get on it before us, like people getting into lifeboats before the captain of a ship that's slowly sinking, but such an illustration is NOT to apply to us, or in this situation, except for our captains having such genuine concern for those under their care! God's spirit is still with us to straighten things out, and to have a leading role in bringing blessings from God to other countries, even as "one nation under God". Perhaps we may begin thinking in terms of the 8-Day, I could reference the days in an article/post to remind of the purpose of the day, which I believe God is blessing for it's particular purpose that day, whether it's to strengthen our bodies with the right kind of salt intake, or acknowledging that the day might be more windy like today really was here on this Windyday the 12th of the 5th month Agreehelp (Agr). But I realize it would help for me to get where I should, and the true election results regarding the U.S. President to be acknowledged, which was or is not simple due to the AI media control that Donald had over DC, VA, and MD for the last 4-5 years or more, with at least TV, radio, and internet in the region, beginning likely with smaller measures aimed to lessen opposition to his reputation or ideas. Have faith in the Son, the ransom for forgiveness of sins, and aim for the target of righteousness in your decisions, to honor God and reflect divine wisdom in how you do things, contributing to His will! {Recall that truly anointed ones are to be in attendance to partake, and all were to commemorate on Passover night, honoring God and Christ. Paul also said "As often as" you do this, which can indicate allowance for another month's observance, at least occasionally.
