CHRISTIAN SMALL LETTER SELECTIONS
AMONG THE "MORE IMPORTANT THINGS":
PROTECTING PEACE, PURITY, REJECTING BADNESS
VITAL QUALITIES FOR TRUE PEACE. Ephesians 4 contains much to contemplate, beginning with encouragement to "walk worthily of the calling with which you were called, 2 with all humility and mildness, with patience [or, loyalty], putting up with one another in love, 3 earnestly endeavoring to maintain the oneness of the spirit in the uniting bond of peace." These qualities are vital to preserving the peaceful, loving spirit of the congregation of God. We need to have a humble view in dealing with one another, 'considering others superior to us,' refusing contentiousness or a fighting spirit with others whom we should be loving, doing nothing out of egotism, or arrogance, appreciating the good in others, most if not all others having qualities the person himself could improve in. (Philippians 2:3). We should also deal with one another with a gentle, mild manner, sensitive to their feelings. Loyalty should also be shown, as we remain first and foremost loyal to God, showing loyalty to others by helping them become loyal to our loving God themselves (1John 4:8,16). Being peaceable, or a peacemaker, on the basis of love, seeking to forgive others freely, seeking peace especially with fellow Christians, is also vital to establishing and maintaining Christian unity. Ephesians 4:25-26 (NIV) says "Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body. 'In your anger do not sin.' Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry"--thus try to be quick to restore peace, especially with fellow believers. And Romans 12:18 says "If possible, as far as it depends on you, be peaceable with all men." May we strive after such qualities and enjoy the blessings associated with such obedience to God.
TREASURE PURITY OF HEART, USE CLEAN SPEECH. Ephesians 5:3 offers this encouragement regarding our choice of speech: "Let immorality and every sort of uncleanness or greediness not even be mentioned among you, just as is proper for holy people." By what we talk about, we can influence others, for good, or for bad. Continue giving consideration to God's word, the wisdom of Proverbs and Christ's teachings, including the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5-7, to comprehend the value of God's standards, that all may come to love what is right, and hate all badness, which has a negative effect on humanity, carrying on selfishness and other sin. May all grow in love for God for his abundant goodness toward humans, knowing what is needed to be truly happy and to live in peace amidst one another.
REJECT SELFISH CONDUCT, GREEDINESS. Ephesians 5 reminds us, in verse 5, that we should not allow emotions from music or wrong thinking from TV shows or movies to affect our view of marriage or hinder true unselfish love in our hearts and obedience to the GOD who IS LOVE (1John 4:8). Verse 5 says: "For you know this, recognizing it for yourselves, that no immoral person or unclean person or greedy person, which means being an idolater (putting anything above God), has any inheritance in the Kingdom of the Christ and of God." Look to God to help you prepare for marriage and find a good partner, if you don't already have one! Recall that true engagement in God's eyes allows for certain intimacies to be expressed from a distance--in a long-distance relationship--looking forward to a beautiful marriage. Determine where you're at in any such relationship, and anything needing correction to advance or remain close to God and each other as appropriate--Seek God's help in prayer, receiving His guidance. Let's work to protect, or safeguard, the lives and good spirit of others. Rescue the upright, as Proverbs 11:9 states: "By his mouth the apostate brings his neighbor to ruin, But by knowledge the upright are rescued." May we lovingly uphold God's standards in life, treating others with respect, doing what contributes to their eternal happiness, God's way!

CHRISTIAN SMALL LETTER SELECTION
APPRECIATING CHRISTIAN TRUTH, REPENTING, GROWING WITHIN
RECEIVE ACCURATE KNOWLEDGE. 2Peter 1:2-4 highlights "accurate knowledge," reminding us of the true unity that is possible if we humbly accept God's instruction and apply it in our personal lives. Peter is likely writing primarily to those with heavenly hopes, to share in "divine nature," but these words can encourage all to treasure devotion to God in a close relationship with Him, as we grow in the accurate knowledge of God and His purpose involving Christ, to find peace in life by God's undeserved kindness, with precious promises of eternal life. These verses read: "2 May undeserved kindness and peace be increased to you by an accurate knowledge of God and of [Joshuaz’] our Lord, 3 for his divine power has granted us all the things that contribute to life and godly devotion through the accurate knowledge of the One who called us by his own glory and virtue. 4 Through these things he has granted us the precious and very grand promises, so that through these you may become sharers in divine nature, having escaped from the world’s corruption produced by wrong desire." God's word instructs, at Galatians 5:16: "Keep walking by spirit and you will carry out no sinful desire at all." May we turn away wrong desire, seeking life in harmony with God's love and reasonableness, becoming truly satisfied, as He can help us find all we need in life to be truly content and happy, including true friends and for most, eventually perhaps all, a loyal marriage partner, with an understanding of right standards to live by, peaceably with others. May we always treasure God's loyal love toward us by seeking to ever please Him, walking with Him toward eternal life, alongside as many as possible, as God "does not desire anyone to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance." (2Peter 3:9).
SPIRITUAL GROWTH. 2Peter 1:5-8 contains crucial steps to our spiritual development. Let’s remark as we go through each one. The foundation is faith, or thankful trust, primarily in God, His Son Joshuaz’ (Jesus), God’s word, and the ransom sacrifice. Having such, persons would come to trust also in God's arrangement, promises and blessings, solving mankind's problems. Built on faith, other attributes are needed. The verses read as follows: “5 For this very reason, put forth all earnest effort to supply to your faith virtue (godly attributes such as purity of heart, and true hope), to your virtue knowledge (including knowledge of God’s law through Christ), 6 to your knowledge self-control (needed to keep or obey God’s lawl), to your self-control endurance (to obey over time through trials), to your endurance godly devotion (close attachment to Jehovoez’ personally), 7 to your godly devotion brotherly affection (pure friendship with other God-fearing persons), to your brotherly affection love (unselfishness looking for best interests of all, in harmony with godly wisdom). 8 For if these things exist in you and overflow, they will prevent you from being either inactive or unfruitful regarding the accurate knowledge of our Lord Joshuaz’ (or, Jesus) Christ.”
EYES OPEN TO SCRIPTURAL TRUTH. 2Peter 1:9-11 refers to not shutting our eyes to the light, so that we do not lack the qualities mentioned in the previous verses, such as godly knowledge, self-control, and godly devotion. If we close our eyes to the light of Scriptural truth, we can become truly blind, not able to see dangers right in front of us. These verses read as follows: “9 For anyone lacking these things is blind, shutting his eyes to the light, and has become forgetful of his cleansing from his sins of long ago. 10 Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to make your calling and choosing sure for yourselves, for if you keep on doing these things, you will by no means ever fail. 11 In fact, in this way you will be richly granted entrance into the everlasting Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Joshuaz’ (or, Jesus) Christ.” As we learn to serve God properly, may we likewise encourage others to do so, assisting them, including our precious children, according to their ability, to make spiritual progress. Thus persons will be reminded of the steps they took to grow spiritually, that they should not forget or take for granted, but maintain a firm hold on their hope and faith in God and His Son.
PAST LIVING IN "LAST DAYS"
2Peter 3:1-4 shows that there would be those minimizing Bible warnings and prophecies, as if nothing has changed since "creation's beginning." But make no mistake--the evidence is clear that we were living in the "last days" of an ungodly system, or arrangement, of things, with its associated corruption and lawlessness. God's Kingdom is bringing significant changes among right-hearted mankind, eventually ushering in blessings of good health and happiness worldwide. May we do all we can to uphold the truth, helping as many as possible to exercise faith in God's promises and benefit by a close relationship with Him. May ones not be caught off guard by critics, realizing God foresees their ridicule:
MOTIVATION TO REPENTANCE. Peter's words read this way: "Beloved ones, this is now the second letter I am writing you in which, as in my first one, I am stirring up your clear thinking faculties by way of a reminder, 2 that you should remember the sayings previously spoken by the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles. 3 First of all know this, that in the last days ridiculers will come with their ridicule, proceeding according to their own desires 4 and saying: “Where is this promised presence of his? Why, from the day our forefathers fell asleep in death, all things are continuing exactly as they were from creation’s beginning.” Peter goes on to remind Christians that such ones "deliberately ignore this fact, that long ago there were heavens and an earth standing firmly out of water and in the midst of water by the word of God; 6 and that by those means the world of that time suffered destruction when it was flooded with water." Therefore, just as God judged an evil, violent world in Noah's day, so He has proven able to remove evil ones on a modern day of judgment. (Prove 2:20-22). May such ones repent of wrong thoughts and activity, being remorseful over harmful conduct, that God may bless their sincere repentance, and help them find true happiness in life, even with a loyal marriage partner to share life with in the coming new world. May as many as possible appreciate God's mercy and love for his human creation, and respond accordingly, seeking to please our loving God by careful obedience and adherence to His wise and loving ways and standards.

Exodus 24:17-18:
CHRISTIAN STANDARD: WORSHIP GOD BY LISTENING, LOVING GOD, AND NEIGHBOR AS ONESELF.
Let’s now consider Exodus 24:17-18: “17 To the Israelites who were watching, the appearance of Jehovoez'z glory was like a consuming fire on the mountaintop. 18 Moses then entered into the cloud and went up the mountain. And Moses stayed on the mountain 40 days and 40 nights.”
GOD PROVIDER OF LIFE. Might the appearance of this “consuming fire on the mountaintop,” to which Moses ascended to and remained for 40 days and 40 nights, and then safely descended from, be what gave the three young Hebrew men in Babylon the confidence that Jehovoez would be able to rescue them when they were threatened to be harmed if they would not bow in worship to the golden image set up by King Nebuchadnezzar? We of course should recognize that this was nothing short of a miracle. We are not to “put God to the test” by taking unnecessary risks, assuming that He will somehow save us from any danger we could face, including fire. (Matth 4:5-7). But the three Hebrews understood that this was a matter of obedience to God, which involved their worship, integrity and prospects of eternal life! Let’s not be confused here. Romans 13 shows we are to demonstrate obedience to governmental authorities that God has permitted to be placed in their “relative positions” before God. But these authorities should never try to usurp God’s authority! Who should we obey first? Why, even the early Christians showed they recognized this, when threatened not to speak about Jesus, Peter and the other apostles said “We must obey God as ruler rather than men.” (Acts 5:29). In the matter of taxes, Jesus or Joshuaz' stated a clear principle: “Pay back Caesar’s things to Caesar, but God’s things to God.” (Mark 12:17). Caesar provides money, and governmental services we all need. But who provides “life and breath and all things?” (Acts 17:25). We thus owe God our life and exclusive worship!
EXCLUSIVE DEVOTION. Going back to King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, God knew that the three Hebrew servants of His could prove faithful in this matter, and likely chose to use that situation to teach a lesson to the king, and all who would read or hear of it from God’s word in the book of Daniel. Although Jews had been taken captive to Babylon, they were still under the Lawl of God given through Moises, and the Ten Commandments, in force, clearly stated regarding Jehovoez: “You must not have any other gods besides me.” (Exodus 20:3). The next commandment forbids making a carved image for worship, and Exodus 20:5-6 then commands: “5 You must not bow down to them nor be enticed to serve them, for I, Jehovoez your God, am a God who requires exclusive devotion, bringing punishment for the error of fathers upon sons, upon the third generation and upon the fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing loyal love to the thousandth generation of those who love me and keep my commandments.”
ABLE TO RESCUE. This king had previously been made to know that Je'hovoez' is a powerful God, a Revealer of secrets. (Daniel 2:46-49). But the Israelites in Babylon worshipped only the true God, Jehovoez, and had no doubt made that known publicly. Still, the king chose proudly to set up this image for worship. Nevertheless, the three Hebrews refused to bow to his image. By their faithful obedience and integrity to Jehovoez, having been given Babylonian names, the king declared, as recorded at Daniel 3:28-30: “28 Neb·u·chad·nezʹzar then declared: “Praised be the God of Shaʹdrach, Meʹshach, and A·bedʹne·go, who sent his angel and rescued his servants. They trusted in him and went against the command of the king and were willing to die rather than serve or worship any god except their own God. 29 I am therefore issuing an order that any people, nation, or language group that says anything against the God of Shaʹdrach, Meʹshach, and A·bedʹne·go should be dismembered, and their houses should be turned into public latrines; for there is no other god who is able to rescue like this one.” 30 The king then promoted Shaʹdrach, Meʹshach, and A·bedʹne·go in the province of Babylon.”
FACING HARDSHIP. May we thus give due respect to our Life-giver and our “Grand Creator” Je'hovoez', seeking to give Him the exclusive worship He deserves. Rarely should we ever have to face such a situation as did the three Hebrews. We still, however, may face unpleasant disrespect, ridicule, or other unkind treatment by those not yet understanding God’s word. May we be confident that “...God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, but along with the temptation he will also make the way out so that you may be able to endure it.” (1Cori 10:13). Proverbs 25:21-22 says “21 If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; If he is thirsty, give him water to drink, 22 For you will be heaping burning coals on his head, And Jehovoez will reward you.” Spiritual food and water may be needed more by an opposer than literal food and water. If we can kindly promote understanding of the will of God in a matter, this may go a long way in easing the tension or the situation. The “burning coals” are a reference to softening metal, to make it more workable. Thus kindness can soften the arrogant pride of another, humbling them somewhat, allowing for spiritual growth. May we continue to heed the two greatest commandments of the Lawl, as Joshuaz' declared, “37 He said to him: “‘You must love Jehovoez your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind.’ 38 This is the greatest and first commandment. 39 The second, like it, is this: ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments the whole Lawl hangs, and the Prophets.” (Matth 22:37-40).

I believe I had interference from talking up the holiday as Christ's Family Weekend on the website this year, although many still likely heard, for Dec 27th and 28th; there is strong reason for caution, due to God's blessing potentially being removed from Dec 25. Some prophecies were fulfilled in recent years, including one about Job's cursing of the day of his birth, which both was historically Dec 25 and whose life foreshadowed Christ in some ways, prophetically. When God's blessing is on a day, He has often protected people from danger; For years now Jesus above (AzGod) has been saving thousands of lives weekly traveling roadways for instance. It is acknowledged that this went so misunderstood this year, without realizing a completely acceptable alternative in Christ's Family Weekend, but God and Jesus Christ above still have made clear that safe travel cannot be guaranteed for Dec 25. Why not open some gifts on the evening of the 24th, and save the rest for Christ's Family Weekend, on the 27th and 28th, good days for traveling to family, etc. for the same. To the extent that we do such things, we will please both God and Christ, showing faith in their word.
