 BLOGPOST 2 SEGMENTS 4-6

  • Former Notes

This is a place for the Notes as above, only previous to the last several days.

  • (4) Godz Lawl and Psalm 119

God'z Lawl can be understood in Chrsitian light, so that some things that formerly were understood to be only literal, can now with the light of Christ, be applied in another way, in line with Christian standards and teachings.

Also, Psalm 119, or the 5th book of Psalms, number 13, was written during the 20 years that king Saul was after David, then anointed to become king, and contains many valuable insights that strengthen appreciation for the word and lawl of God, His love and wisdom, and for closeness to Him.

  • (5) Eternal Express

This segment provides for examination of Christ's inspired teachings about eternal life and those inspired by his followers in other deserving books or letters intended for inclusion in the written Word of God.

  • (6) Golden Bellz

This segment is intended for important statements or pronouncements such that bring clarity to life or God's word, like reminders of important orders or commands from God which Psalm 19 says are righteous, making the heart rejoice, and are clean, 'enlightening the eyes'. These help to maintain proper integrity, which 'leads the upright'.

 2024 PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN 14 POINTS

  • 1-3) Points 1-3 Look to GOD Elections Public Education

    2024 Presidential Campaign 14 Points v4

1-3. Revised 14 Point Campaign, Look to GOD as Higher Power, Elections, Public Education

    1. Understanding GOD as Higher Power, a properly translated Bible revealing the good of His spirit and influence, and His good promises for a bright future. Knowing God (and His Son) as more correctly, Jehovah(z), God's word revealing divine wisdom, re-known for promoting real peace, and ruling to accomplish good earth-wide. {Reference article GA, How the Kingdom of God Relates to the (Proper) U.S. Constitutional Republic}

    2. Great care should be exercised that elections for office within the United States, and especially for the Higher Offices Nationally, take place according to the United States Constitution and as the public rightly expects as a democratic process of choosing truly wise (and not just knowledgable) public servants not hindered or manipulated, but carried out freely and by law(l). {Reference WGA, B-507 Election Integrity 2024-2025}

    3. Also, public education, with reasonable laws also permitting private education, is to aid the proper and natural growth of each youth (or to refresh and restore older ones), and to provide extra help in cases where essential learning skills are not being acquired, as in basic math and logic, reading and writing, fair retention/memory function and grasp of higher authority and laws, with capacity for eventual good community involvement and social responsibility.

  • 4-7) Points 4-7 Govt Public Safety LGTQ Rights Economy

4-7. Government, Public Safety, LGTQ Rights, Economy.

    4. As regards government itself, encouraging high regard for truly sacred and inspired documents (including the U.S. Constitution) blessed by God for the establishment and maintaining of the democratic republic understood by the Founders to be the way, despite necessary watchfulness and challenges, to properly care for the needs of citizens and others; they highly regarded universal law and divinely blessed law. Localities and States themselves are helped to unite by proper, but not excessive, laws, oversight, and assistance from a properly administered and balanced Federal government, limited in size and scope, and thereby also in tax burden upon citizens. In this, God's authority should also be respected and appreciated. Thus matters of national health, security, and well-being must be regularly monitored, and attention given to foreign relations and crises.

    5. Public Safety must be a high aim, safe public transportation, Good police investigation, protection and gun control as regards a disciplined military and strict regulation on carry license, with education on resolving conflicts without violence. Also, good affordable medical care is also vital as needed.

    6. LGTQ Rights, Respect as Individuals and God-given help from being caught in-between genders, etc. and suffering associated real emotional distress and related problems. {Shortening to LGTQ helps ensure Bisexual is not viewed as a normal behavioral category but rather an abnormality, with still a single real sex or gender of the person. Other unusual conditions can appropriately fall into the Queer category.}

    7. Economy. Address instabilities, encourage good business models that contribute to market stabilization and good business ethic; Rather than repeatedly taxing our own planet, which has been shown to silently contribute to cycles of economic growth and then severe decline or disparity, instead promote understanding of the right kind of taxes to diminish inflation and other threats to the economy, thus averting excess property/real estate taxes, but not avoiding restaurant meal taxes (unembellished) or personal property taxes, such as on more expensive cars, which may gradually ensue, helping replace the annual excess property taxes. Of course, let's see that states have the means to oversee stable housing and new builds in the market as needed. The importance of adhering to a budget should not be diminished, but appropriate modifications should be permitted under changing or changed circumstances, perhaps quarterly. If debt is seen as necessary, the matter should be continually addressed to seek and find ways by God to overcome it properly. Also, another measure of the divinely-inspired law(l) that can apply literally does strongly promote economic stability long-term--the 50-year provision of Jubilee, land returning to owners, worthy of serious attention, for the 250th birthday of the United States.

  • 8-10) Points 8-10 Climate Foreign Policy Immigration Peace

8-10. Climate, Foreign Policy, Immigration, U.S. and International Peace-keeping

    8. On climate change, or the environment, practices which are threatening a healthy and stable environment should be replaced with viable and advantageous alternatives, blessed by God, to promote the right and happy life we can live, preferring to prevent many problems and excessive work in cleanup, etc. by effective recycling and garbage handling, improved and economically viable energy sources, better products, and so on. By reducing threats of earthquakes and other anomalies, and with newly available clean energy sources such as TruGas that are nearly as economically viable to the United States as more polluting ones, greater public health can be obtained and maintained. On the Moral climate, God-blessed family-friendly entertainment and education should be the Gold standard, seeking good public health, alertness, and happiness on all levels.

    9. On Foreign Policy and Immigration. Many envision the Statue of Liberty, recalling that so many ancestors arrived in New York, immigrating to this New World, looking for a freedom that was only possible with God's power and blessing. Whereas there is much land that remains to be occupied, a balance must be struck, preserving life also for our children and children's children. Proper ways and laws for immigrating must be established and maintained, and differentiated from those seeking temporary refuge or shelter from apolitical violence abroad. At the same time, the United States has the power to help other countries establish peaceable governments in cooperation, so that many no longer see a need to immigrate here. Also, maintaining good foreign relations and being aware of foreign crises to judiciously help, are also important. Look for the peace of God through Christ.

    10. Promotion of the United States and the U.N. as an International Peacekeeping Force, returning as a United States entity encouraging diplomacy, scholarship, and cooperation to prevent or resolve violence in conflict. The United States breathed life into this institution beginning with Woodrow Wilson at first called the League of Nations, until events of WWII transpired, then re-emerging as the United Nations, and for beneficial purpose, to overcome the roots and ravages of war. Recommending the U.S. re-integrate at an appropriate time, becoming the United States International Peacekeeping Organization, or USIPO. Also, other international emergencies and situations may more readily receive U.S., multi-national and peaceable, effective response, God-blessed. Foreign relations considered significant, supporting global peace. Immigration balanced, laws established and maintained, with differentiation for temporary refugees from apolitical violence. Standards for U.S. citizenship fair but U.S. assistance for good government globally, lessening need for lovers of God to immigrate.

  • 11-14) Points 11-14 Stable Government Human Dignity Respect for Law(l)

11-14. Stable Government, Human Dignity, Respect for Law(l).

    11. Promote ensurance of stability in government.

    12. Each person deserves dignity and RESPECT.

    13. To each his own (by God through His Firstborn Son).

    14. Have all persons comply (adherence to lawl's provisions for the common good, or the general welfare).

 SEGMENTS 4-6 PERSISTENT ARTICLES

  • 4A) Highlights of Godz Lawl

    HIGHLIGHTS OF GODZ LAWL

Godz lawl does of course include consideration of the Ten Commandments, the introduction, if you will, by God to His Mosaic Law covenant. Jesus would prove to keep the Law perfectly, as evidently no one prior was able to do completely. Of course, he would offer new teachings, that gave people a fresh way of looking at living by God's standards, in harmony with the greatest commandments of the Law, to love God with our all, and then our neighbor as ourself. The Mosaic Law itself can thus be seen from a new perspective, with greater insight into God's thinking and what it means to love Him and others as genuine Christians. This segment offers highlights from consideration of the Mosaic Law covenant, as found largely in Exodus, taking God's laws to Israel point by point. Leviticus adds laws for the Levitical priesthood, Numbers some related to organization, and Deuteronomy, which means "Second Law" was largely a restatement of the Law by Moses, and may have been Jesus' favorite book, evidently being the one he quoted from the most! Especially let's be reminded of how God wants to be worshipped, as we largely consider points from the Mosaic Law as they have application in the life of a Christian today. Many today wish to worship God on their own terms, but doesn’t God have the right, the authority as Author of the Universe, to reveal to us they way to our greatest happiness--to inform us as to His will to worship Him acceptably? Let's highlight Godz Lawl seeing parallels in true Christianity. May we review and increase our understanding of true worship!

  • 4A) Value of Godz Lawl, from Exodus 22

    LAWL OF GOD, Exodus 24

    Value of God's Lawl

    Exodus 24:1-3:

CHRISTIAN STANDARD: TRUE CHRISTIANS, HAVING  FAITH, STILL ACKNOWLEDGE A LAWL OF GOD AND GODLY STANDARDS.

Let’s consider Exodus 24:1-3: “24 Then he said to Moses: “Go up to Jehovalz, you and Aaron, Naʹdab and A·biʹhu, and 70 of the elders of Israel, and bow down from a distance. 2 Moses should approach Jehovalz by himself; but the others should not approach, and the people should not go up with him.” 3 Then Moses came and related to the people all the words of Jehovalz and all the judicial decisions, and all the people answered with one voice: “All the words that Jehovalz has spoken, we are willing to do.”

Verse 3 Notice Israel’s response to the relating of God’s initial Lawl to them: “All the words that Jehovalz has spoken, we are willing to do.” This people recognized God’s lawl as reasonable, wise, just and fair. They were willing to comply with all of it, to be obedient to it. In their day and time, God’s lawl was understandable and wisely beneficial. Of course, the principles of that Lawl--what it teaches us about the God who does not change--are timeless. By knowing the lawl well, they would be able to teach their children the things of utmost importance to God, that they might “live a long time in the land that Jehovalz your God is giving” them. As we’ll see, Moses wrote down this Lawl, and Israel at this time would agree to be bound by it, trusting in Jehovalz that it would prove beneficial to them. This agreement caused them to become a nation dedicated to Jehovalz, compliant with His will. Christians, despite having faith in Christ, recall this one's saying (in the Sermon on the Mount) that "I did not come to destroy the Lawl or the Prophets...I came, not to destroy, but to fulfill (perfect, or complete)." Rather than ignoring God's Lawl given through Moses, then, true Christians should come to realize that God's Lawl has another interpretation or application through Christ, in accord with Christian teachings and instructions. Also, willingly dedicating oneself to God as a true Christian gives evidence of a genuine faith in the God who is love, realizing that He is trustworthy, good and merciful in His dealings with us, willingly able to strengthen us to accomplish His will in our life. We can see this in the way Jesus, who perfectly reflected His Father’s love, dealt with fellow Israelites with humility, compassion, kindness, and patience. Of course, he reflected these qualities with proper motive, seeking to honor Jehovalz, unselfishly motivated to seek the long-term welfare of others, to benefit them eternally, helping them gain a good relationship with God and fellow humans. As Peter reminded fellow Christians, at 1Peter 1:15-16: “15 but like the Holy One who called you, become holy yourselves in all your conduct, 16 for it is written: “You must be holy, because I am holy.” The term “holy” itself is found nearly 800 times in God’s word. With proper motive, we should consider ourselves an extension of God’s hand to others, uplifting and helping them in various ways. We may add to their knowledge, and assist them in practical ways. Proverbs 11 says: “9 By his mouth the apostate brings his neighbor to ruin, But by knowledge the upright are rescued.” May we contribute to the everlasting salvation and happiness of others, by sincerely encouraging them to be among faithful Christian servants of God.

  • 4B) Psalm 119 INTRO S01-S04 Overview not updated

    Psalm 119 or 5Psalm13

This is a verse-by-verse journey through the 119th psalm (the 13th of Book 5) written by, surprisingly to some, one anointed to become king, and in the process, relying on God and His word, doing so through many hardships. What I've gone through also has enabled keen insight into David's experiences and provides many fine lessons for all to benefit from as we endeavor to live life as God purposed, in a way that brings genuine peace, real satisfaction and eventual prosperity, in true love.

THE SPIRIT OF GENUINE PEACE. While not wanting to neglect other valuable psalms, containing many important lessons of their own, we can nevertheless still benefit from reviewing this priceless one of David, anointed to be king, enduring many years for that privileged right. Why not both--if we continue Psalm Select, or selections from the spirit-inspired psalms, we can gain even more insight into the spirit of God, or the "goodforce" that we may receive as we love God and His word of truth, and that can stir or motivate us in the doing of God's loving will for humans. According to 1Timothy 2:3-4 that's the saving of people everywhere, as they come to an ACCURATE knowledge of the truth about God! That also thus involves the genuine peace and security God has promised and, along with prayerful pleas of the human family to God and thankful trust in Him, living in accord with His law, should be everyone's desire to be obtained. Many may not realize it, but God's word can be fulfilled in a way that allows nearly the entire human family to be preserved(!)--although many must make great strides to genuine peace. Godly instruction is thus involved. (On a sidenote, I would like to also podcast at least the Psalm 119 Reviews, or my entire work). For some, it may require more faith or thankful trust in God and His beloved word. For others, it may be that comprehending godly fear or awe, and the vital spirit of true humility--a humble respect for fellow humans and God and His decisions and will--need be recognized, replacing an arrogant sense of superiority (letting it die, as it were, lacking trust in God), acknowledging How Jehovoe is still accomplishing His will for a peace-loving world, even through the corrections of those within the United States and elsewhere, desiring the happiness of the entire human family on Earth. Let's do all we can to promote such genuine peace, remaining peace-lovers as the wisdom of God teaches us to do.

    _____(4) Psalm 119 (5Psalm 13) Commentary

    PSALM 119 (5Psalm 13) COMMENTARY

    INTRODUCTION

UPCOMING COMMENTARY. As mentioned previously, Psalm 119 is an acrostic, or an alphabetic song, with each succeeding 8-verse section beginning with the next letter of the Hebrew alphabet, evidently done so primarily for assistance with memorization. Evidently, the psalmist David, anointed to be king, considered the lessons of this psalm so important and helpful to all that he wanted to make it easier to remember and recall in the acrostic format. This makes 8 x 22 letters = 176 total verses. The 22 sections (of 8 verses each) can break down to 2 sets of 11, and these sets may be further grouped. This time I wish to modify the pattern from 4-4-3 to that I now believe was most intended, a 4-4-3 for the first 11-stanza half of the psalm, and a 3-5-3 for the last 11 stanzas. Beginning with the next Psalm 119 blog post I wish to offer an overview of the first 4 sections, then consider it gradually, typically a 4-verse half-section at a time, at least twice per week, and then a review summary as well.  I wish to refine or update the commentary where appropriate. We may thus consider, by commentary, 8+ individual verses, of the loving and inspired work, per week. We can then proceed with each succeeding stanza the same way, with a preview and verse-by-verse consideration, and review, continuing to complete each of the two sets of 11 sections. A broader review of each half of 11 sections is also provided. Thus 4-4-3 (11), and 3-5-3 (11) with previews and reviews, however I may place more emphasis on the 3, 4, and 5 stanza Reviews, numbered 3 per half, and save the larger reviews until the end. In this way much can be gained from this valuable psalm.

Within it there are so many things to appreciate! God reveals through the psalmist the importance of having deep love for Him and His word, and for those who could benefit from it (hoping everyone)!

There is an intriguing connection between this 119th (5#13) psalm and Psalm 19, which also highlights various aspects of God's word such as His (1)"lawl", (2)"reminders", (3)"orders", (4)"commandments", and (5)"judgements." These five aspects are introduced in Psalm 119 in the exact same order, although with two others inserted in between them! Psalm 19 is clearly credited to David as a melody by him, which I now believe was a later work, and formed as a much shorter review of such key aspects of God's word, while Psalm 119 is now understood to have connections to his earlier time while anointed to become king.

Let's notice the reading of Psalm 19:7-14, also beautifully inspired of God.

"7 The law of Jehavoz is perfect, restoring strength.

The reminder of Jehavoz is trustworthy, making the [naive] one wise.

    8 The orders from Jehavoz are righteous, causing the heart to rejoice;

The commandment of Jehavoz is clean, making the eyes shine[or, "enlightening the eyes", AMP].

9 The [respectful or godly fear/regarding] of Jehavoz is pure, lasting forever.

The judgements of Jehavoz are true, altogether righteous.

10 They are more desirable than gold, Than much fine gold,

And sweeter than honey, the honey that drips from the combs.

    11 By them your servant has been warned;

In keeping them, there is a large reward.

    12 Who can discern mistakes?

Pronounce me innocent from sins I am unaware of.

13 And hold your servant back from presumptuous acts (defying your lawl); Do not let them dominate me.

Then I will be complete, And innocent of blatant/intentional sins.

14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be pleasing to you, O Jehavoz, my Rock and my Redeemer."

Altogether there are about 10 aspects of God's word or law highlighted in Psalm 119, with possibly two or more significant related values mentioned. The 5 aspects highlighted above appear in successive order in Psalm 119, with two others inserted among the first 7, those being God's "ways" and "regulations," or , "lawls of conduct."  "Regulations" need to be understood as the beneficial laws or instructions governing, or regulating, our conduct so as to promote respect, fairness, and peace among citizens and residents of a community, for instance. The expression "instructions" or even "lines of living" might be appropriate alternate expressions, also perhaps 'lawls and limits', 'regulane-lines', and shortened, 'regulines'. The remaining terms are God's "word," His "saying" and His "statutes." The two related values mentioned, perhaps among others, are the "respectful fear" or 'regarding' of Jehavoz and His "works." We want to come to understand each of these terms, so we can better comprehend their value in relation to God's wisdom. In the next blog post, let's have a PREVIEW of the first 4 alphabetic segments of Psalm 119, verses 1-32, beginning with a key truth, as highlighted in the first verse, that true happiness depends on walking in God's lawl, where genuine satisfaction may be found! Verse 1 reads: "Happy are those who are blameless in their way, Who walk in the lawl of Jehavoz." Is it reasonable to do so? How can we? Let's give this more attention.

    ___

    PSALM 119 COMMENTARY

    PREVIEW STANZAS 1-4, verses 1-32

What stirring lessons are to be found in the 119th Psalm (5Psa.13)! Let's begin by previewing the first four stanzas. A dominant point of the first stanza is found in the first verse:

STANZA 1 THEME: HAPPINESS IS FOUND IN OBEDIENCE TO GOD.

"1 Happy are those who are blameless in their way [or, "who keep integrity"], Who walk in the law of Jehavoz." Thus we will see that happiness depends on obedience to God's law or lawl. Complete righteousness, however, is only attainable, as true Christians have come to know, through faith or deep trust in God, His word, Christ's example and the ransom provision of Christ's sacrifice allowing true forgiveness of sins, or occasional misses, but all this with the aim of love for God and neighbor, shown by genuine obedience. (1John 5:3). Abraham's faith was "counted to him as righteousness" as he loyally walked with God. (James 2:23).

STANZA 2 THEME: BY GOD'S WORD A YOUTH CAN REMAIN MORALLY CLEAN AND PURE.

What about the second stanza? Verse 9 highlights how a young man can remain spiritually clean. This is by "keeping on guard according to [God's] word." This idea of "keeping on guard" is expressed this way in another translation: by "taking heed and keeping watch [on himself] according to [God's] word [conforming his life to it]." (Psalm 119:9, AMP).

STANZA 3 THEME: FONDNESS FOR GOD'S WORD, WAYS VITAL FOR FAITHFULNESS.

The third stanza, covering verses 17-24, highlights how fondness for God's word is vital for faithfulness. Verse 18 pleads to God: "Open my eyes so that I may see clearly The wonderful things from your lawl." Christians are exhorted, at 1Peter 2:2, "2 As newborn infants, form a longing for the unadulterated (uncontaminated, unspoiled) milk of the word, so that by means of it you may grow to salvation."

STANZA 4 THEME: WE CAN REMAIN FAITHFUL UNDER TRIALSOME CIRCUMSTANCES.

The fourth stanza, verses 25-32, explains that, with God's help, we can remain faithful to God even under trialsome circumstances. Verses 25,28 say: "I lie prostrate in the dust. Preserve me alive according to your word...I have been sleepless from grief. Strengthen me according to your word." In both statements the psalmist relies upon the word of God, including His promise of support. 1Corinthians 10:13 explains: "No temptation has come upon you except what is common to men. But God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, but along with the temptation he will also make the way out so that you may be able to endure it." Still, accordingly a trial 'uncommon to men' in God's view we shouldn't be faced with--as we seek to remain faithful, the truth of our sincerity and loyalty to God and others should eventually become clear, with wishes that wrongdoers might turn around, abandoning wrong conduct, preferring God's kindness, as explained in Psalm 103. Such matters as these, as God's word addresses, will be considered more thoroughly.

Thus we have much to look forward to as we examine these and other vital points of faith. May we appreciate the lessons God offers in this psalm for our spiritual welfare and that of others, as we gain understanding and insight into such matters!

  • 4A-5) Godz Lawl and EE - Deuteronomy and New World

    GODZ LAWL HIGHLIGHTS

    DEUTERONOMY, OVERVIEW

"WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING." DEUT. Chapters 1-4: Moses’ first discourse of this book recounts significant events during the Israel’s 40-year wilderness sojourn, how they got to this point of nearing entry into the Promised Land, including several victories from Jehovahz over their opposers. They are exhorted to carefully follow the instructions and judgments of Jehovahz, because it would show “wisdom and understanding” on their part to do so. They were also not to forget what they had seen by Jehovahz’s hand, and speak of them to their sons and daughters.

    DEUTERONOMY 04A

A CLEAN HOME PLANET. Recall that the "Israel of God" is now "all those who walk orderly by this (Christian) rule of conduct, peace and mercy be upon them, yes, upon the Israel of God." (Galatians 6:16). Most Christians are to have Paradise hopes, with this earth as a home planet. First, we must work to clean up this planet and let it be the gem both spiritually and physically Jehovahz GOD intended it to be!

“Now, O Israel, listen to the [instructions] and the judicial decisions that I am teaching you to observe, so that you may live and go in and take possession of the land that Jehovahz, the God of your forefathers, is giving you. 2 You must not add to the word that I am commanding you, neither must you take away from it, so as to keep the commandments of Jehovahz your God that I am commanding you."

REFUSING TO WORK EVIL. Jesus taught similarly. Recall in his Sermon on the Mount, that he said he came, not to destroy the Law or the Prophets, but to fulfill them. Thus, his teachings help us to maintain the spirit of the Law, the primary motivation behind it being true love, for God and neighbor. Jesus, in fact, said these were the two greatest commandments of the Law--the first, to love GOD with all our heart, life, and strength, and the second, to love our neighbor as oneself. We love God first by obeying Him (1John 5:3). Paul said "LOVE DOES NOT WORK EVIL TO ONE'S NEIGHBOR, hence love is the Law's fulfillment." (Romans 13:10). Let's consider Moses' next words:

“Your own eyes have seen what Jehovahz did in the case of the Baʹal of Peʹor; Jehovahz your God annihilated from your midst every man who walked after the Baʹal of Peʹor. 4 But you who are holding fast to Jehovahz your God are all alive today. 5 See, I have taught you [instructions] and judicial decisions, just as Jehovahz my God has commanded me, so that you may observe them in the land you will take possession of.6 You must carefully follow them, because this will show wisdom and understanding on your part before the peoples who will hear about all these regulations, and they will say, ‘This great nation is undoubtedly a wise and understanding people.’7 For what great nation has gods as near to it as Jehovahz our God is to us whenever we call on him? 8 And what great nation has righteous regulations and judicial decisions like this entire Law that I am putting before you today?"

TREASURE GOD'S GIFT OF MARRIAGE. The scourge that killed many in Israel, falling to the worship of Baal, involved sexual immorality--utter disregard for GOD's marriage arrangement. As it turns out, realistically, many more couples are actually considered married in the eyes of God than some realize. What a marvelous gift to mankind is marriage, when a man and woman can remain loyal to each other in a covenant of closeness that should not compare to any other human relationship. Of course, their first loyalty is to GOD, as HE is the Originator of the marriage, and the Ultimate Preserver of the marriage bond, as husband and wife seek HIS direction and guidance in their life. Paul wrote of warnings in the Scriptures to conduct unbecoming of a true Christian, leading to GOD's disfavor.

1Corinthian 10:6-13 accordingly says this: "Now these things became examples for us, in order for us not to desire injurious things, as they desired them. 7 Neither become idolaters, as some of them did; just as it is written: “The people sat down to eat and drink. Then they got up to have a good time.”8 Neither let us practice sexual immorality, as some of them committed sexual immorality, only to fall, 23,000 of them in one day. 9 Neither let us put Jehovahz to the test, as some of them put him to the test, only to perish by the serpents. 10 Neither be murmurers, as some of them murmured, only to perish by the destroyer. 11 Now these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for a warning to us upon whom the ends of the systems of things have come. 12 So let the one who thinks he is standing beware that he does not fall. 13 No temptation has come upon you except what is common to men. But God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, but along with the temptation he will also make the way out so that you may be able to endure it."

    DEUTERONOMY 04B

PROMOTING LIFE AND HEALTH. We finished last time with verse 8, which states: "And what great nation has righteous [instructions] and judicial decisions like this entire Law that I am putting before you today?" The Law God gave Israel was quite exceptional, and promoted both spiritual and physical health and genuine peaceful and loving relationships and actions among the communities of God's people then. Of course, God's sending of Jesus, and his offering of a sacrifice for man's life prospects, brought a fresh approach to that Law, allowing greater compassion and mercy, giving more opportunity for repentance--a true turn from wrongdoing, in hope of restoring God's favor. This was the message God ultimately intended for the rest of the world, to embrace true Christianity to serve Jehovahz GOD acceptably. Let's now pick up with verse 9:

"“Just be careful and watch yourself closely, so that you may not forget the things that your eyes have seen and so that they may not depart from your heart all the days of your life. You must also make them known to your sons and to your grandsons.10 On the day that you stood before Jehovahz your God in Horʹeb, Jehovahz said to me, ‘Congregate the people together to me so that I may let them hear my words, in order that they may learn to fear me all the days that they are alive on the ground and that they may teach their sons.’"

SAFEGUARD HEART. Proverbs 4:23 says "Above all the things that you guard, safeguard your heart, For out of it are the sources of life." The heart holds our very motives, and our spirituality, inclining us to Jehovahz when motivated properly, leading to life. Each father and grandfather was to speak often about the things they had witnessed or learned about Jehovahz GOD in truth, sharing such stories and teachings with their offspring. And they had God's law to listen to and learn from, to share and discuss with others as well. There was much to draw each one close to Jehovahz, loving Him with a complete heart. Let's continue:

“So you came near and stood at the base of the mountain, and the mountain was burning with fire up to the very heavens; there was darkness, cloud, and thick gloom.12 And Jehovahz began to speak to you out of the fire. You heard the sound of words, but you saw no form—there was only a voice.13 And he declared his covenant to you, which he commanded you to observe—the Ten Commandments. Afterward, he wrote them on two tablets of stone.14 At that time Jehovahz commanded me to teach you [instructions] and judicial decisions, which you are to observe in the land you will enter to take possession of."

"UNBLEMISHED AND IN PEACE" The Christian scriptures offer proof that the Ten Commandments, written on stone upon making them known, are still in force by God, who wants us to live by them, along with the standards of Christian teaching, in support of the Law's precepts and teachings. (Ephes 6:2). "Love is the Law's fulfillment." James 2:10-13 says: "For if anyone obeys all the Law but makes a false step in one point, he has become an offender against all of it. 11 For the one who said, “You must not commit adultery,” also said, “You must not murder.” If, now, you do not commit adultery but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of law. 12 Keep on speaking and behaving in such a way as those do who are going to be judged by the law of a free people. 13 For the one who does not practice mercy will have his judgment without mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment." Certainly the Ten Commandments are among the most important of all God's instructions! May all who will look forward to living by GOD's loving instructions and guidance in the promised "world" of peace foretold. 2Peter 3:13 says: "But there are new heavens and a new earth that we are awaiting according to his promise, and in these uprightness is to dwell. 14 Therefore, beloved ones, since you are awaiting these things, do your utmost to be found finally by him spotless and unblemished and in peace."

Next time, let's consider of Moses' discourse to Israel.

    ___

    DEUTERONOMY 04C

Our last consideration taught us to safeguard our heart from corruption, and to observe God's instructions, to be found by Him unblemished and in peace. Let's continue further in Moses' discourse.

“Therefore, watch yourselves closely—since you did not see any form on the day Jehovahz spoke to you in Horʹeb out of the middle of the fire—16 that you may not act corruptly by making for yourselves any carved image having the form of any symbol, the representation of male or female,17 the representation of any animal on the earth or the representation of any bird that flies in the sky,18 the representation of anything creeping on the ground or the representation of any fish in the waters under the earth.19 And when you raise your eyes to the heavens and see the sun and the moon and the stars—all the army of the heavens—do not get seduced and bow down to them and serve them. Jehovahz your God has given them to all the peoples under the whole heavens.20 But you are the ones Jehovahz took and brought out of the iron-smelting furnace, out of Egypt, to become the people of his personal possession, as you are today."

SIN OF IDOLATRY. It was the first Two Commandments of the Ten that clearly show Jehovahz requires exclusive worship of His people, ultimately all humankind, the work of His own hands. These state: "“‘I am Jehovahz your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.7 You must never have any other gods besides me.8 “‘You must not make for yourself a carved image or a form like anything that is in the heavens above or on the earth below or in the waters under the earth.9 You must not bow down to them nor be led to serve them, for I, Jehovahz your God, am a God who requires exclusive devotion, bringing punishing correction for the error of fathers upon sons, upon the third generation and upon the fourth generation of those who hate me,10 but showing loyal love to the thousandth generation of those who love me and keep my commandments." It is the sin of idolatry that involves lifting up another thing or creature, including humans, above Jehovahz in worship--this practice blinds one spiritually, so this one is no longer able to see clearly and be fully honest and upright. (Psalm 115). Even the stars are a gift from God, supporting life throughout the Universe, but may we carefully follow God's guidance and direction obediently, to be able to enjoy life as He has intended for humans, first restoring true peace, purity, and happiness to our planet. We would never want to worship the sun, the moon, or the stars, or even our own planet Earth, as though these gifts from God and anything obtained from them are somehow greater than the love of God Himself, and our relationship with Him. We are to love Jehovahz, pleasing Him, patiently waiting for His guidance in doing what is right before Him, not selfishly running ahead of Jehovahz, or worshipping those we should respect, and losing out on our precious eternal future as His loyal, faithful worshipers.

    ___

    DEUTERONOMY 04E

As we concluded last time, Israel of old did turn to false worship too often, and what is next stated by Moses took place among them. What lessons can we learn from this, so as to remain faithful to Jehovahz in the new world at hand?

“If you become father to sons and grandsons and you have lived a long time in the land and you act ruinously and make a carved image of any kind and you do what is evil in the eyes of Jehovahz your God so as to offend him, 26 I do take the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you today that you will surely and quickly perish from the land that you are crossing the Jordan to take possession of. You will not last long on it, but you will be utterly annihilated. 27 Jehovahz will scatter you among the peoples, and just a few of you will survive among the nations to which Jehovahz will have driven you. 28 There you will have to serve gods of wood and stone made by human hands, gods that cannot see or hear or eat or smell."

SECURITY SYSTEM: Clearly, God takes His command to worship only Him quite seriously. No other so-called gods, anything or anyone exalted above Jehovahz to obey or love, should be allowed to take God's primary place in our hearts. He is the God of truth, peace, and "is love." There is no need to desire any other standards than what God Himself sets for the human family. HE and HIS WORD is our security system. Take the Ten Commandments--our security and happiness are threatened by the violation of any ONE of them! If someone ignores the Command not the steal, what insecurity and unhappiness this creates among those robbed of what belongs to them! May we treasure God's loving instructions for the human family, and worship Him exclusively! Let's see what Moses further has to say regarding this circumstance that Israel of old found themselves in, after being exiled to Babylon:

"“If you search for Jehovahz your God from there, you will certainly find him, if you inquire for him with all your heart and with all your soul.30 When you are in great distress and all these things have happened to you in later times, then you will return to Jehovahz your God and listen to his voice.31 For Jehovahz your God is a merciful God. He will not desert you or bring you to ruin or forget the covenant that he swore to your forefathers."

A FAITHFUL PEOPLE. Israel did return to true worship of Jehovahz for a time, but largely rejected Jesus, losing God's favor as a nation. But the nation of spiritual, or Godly Israel was still intact, among true Christians, including many of Jewish heritage! (Galat 6:16). We needn't repeat history in the critical time inheriting a new world of righteousness and peace. (2Peter 3:13; Psalm 37:11). Rather, we may fulfill the promised blessings for those obedient, faithful servants of the true God, Jehovahz! Let's ever aim to remain as faithful to God, as the moon is a "faithful witness in the skies," ever adhering to it's designed purpose as regards our planet and people. (Psalm 89:37).

    MATTERS OF CHRISTIAN UNITY

POWER OF BIBLE TRUTH. Colossians 1:6 acknowledges the power of the truth of God's purpose: "Just as the good news is bearing fruit and increasing in all the world, so it is also doing among you from the day you heard and accurately knew the undeserved kindness of God in truth." May we appreciate and continue growing in the "accurate knowledge" of Bible truth. Colossians 1:9,10 continues: "That is also why from the day we heard of it, we have never stopped praying for you and asking that you may be filled with the accurate knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual comprehension, 10 so as to walk worthily of Jehovahz in order to please him fully as you go on bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the accurate knowledge of God."

BECOMING TRULY UNITED. Accordingly, we need the truth, accurate divine knowledge, about God that Christians may be truly united. 1Corinthians 1:10 says "10 Now I urge you, brothers, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you should all speak in agreement and that there should be no divisions among you, but that you may be completely united in the same mind and in the same line of thought." All Christians, regardless of our "tribe," need to give attention to true Christian doctrine, that we may all be united in the "one faith" of true Christianity. (Ephes 4:5). Surely God and Christ would provide a means for the entire Christian household to become united in the true faith!

CHRISTIAN FOUNDATION. Colossians 2 Why should we give attention to the life and words of Jesus? Colossians 2:3 says "Carefully concealed in him are all the treasures of wisdom and of knowledge." All true Christians should come to be united by accurate divine knowledge, having understanding, putting truth together to form the complete picture of God's will, on the basis of true love, "the perfect bond of union." Verse 2 speaks of hearts being comforted and "that they may be harmoniously joined together in love and may have all the riches that result from the full assurance of their understanding, in order to gain an accurate knowledge of the sacred secret of God, namely, Christ."

    ___

FREED FROM WORLDLY CAPTIVITY. Thus let us look to the truth of God and Christ's teachings as our source of divine knowledge, not to the worldly wise philosophers, propounding their own ideas without regard for God's reliable word. Colossians 3:8 adds this: "Look out that no one takes you captive by means of the philosophy and empty deception according to human tradition, according to the elementary things of the world and not according to Christ." Despite such warnings, Babylonish teachings and particularly Greek philosophy within the first century or two made inroads into Christian thought that contributed to an apostasy from the truth of God's word, violating true Christianity. (2Thes 2:3). The text at 2Timothy 4:3-5 foretold and exhorted: "For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the wholesome teaching, but according to their own desires, they will surround themselves with teachers to have their ears tickled.4 They will turn away from listening to the truth and give attention to false stories. 5 You, though, keep your senses in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry." May we find and treasure the "accurate knowledge" of God's word making possible true peace and happiness among mankind, for an eternity! (Colos 1:9; 1Timo 2:3-4).

CLOTHED WITH NEW PERSONALITY. Colossians 3:8-11 discusses stripping off the "old personality" we may have acquired before receiving Bible truth, and clothe ourselves with the "new personality" through accurate divine knowledge, in the image of God. Colossians 3:8-9a says "But now you must put them all away from you: wrath, anger, badness, abusive speech, and obscene talk out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another." Verse 11 adds that it's not about the exterior of a person--their heritage or ethnicity, for instance, but rather the interior person. We need God's help if we're to abandon such practices as mentioned above. Paul said "For all things I have the strength through the one who gives me power." (Phili 4:13). We should pray for God's powerful holy spirit daily, and whenever we need the strength to resist temptations. (Luke 11:13; 1Cori 10:13). Colossians 3:9-10 continues: "Strip off the old personality with its practices, 10 and clothe yourselves with the new personality, which through accurate knowledge is being made new according to the image of the One who created it." Just as a caterpillar can turn into a beautiful butterfly, so those learning the truth about God and his purposes, and heeding the teachings of Christ, can make astounding changes in their lives in the power of God.

    ___

    CHRISTIAN SMALL LETTER SELECTION

ENDURE HARDSHIP FAITHFULLY, UPHOLDING CHRISTIAN TRUTH

MAINTAIN FAITHFULNESS, CHRISTIAN INTEGRITY. 1Thessalonians 3:4-5 shows we may occasionally suffer hardship to maintain the true faith, looking forward to the Kingdom hope of a world without such things. Paul says "For when we were with you, we used to tell you in advance that we would suffer tribulation, and that is what has happened, just as you know. That is why, when I could bear it no longer, I sent to learn of your faithfulness, in case somehow the Tempter might have tempted you, and our labor might have turned out to be in vain." May we pray to maintain our loyalty, faithfulness, and integrity to God, and include as in the Model prayer, "do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the corrupt one." (Matt 6:13). May we trust that the reward God holds out for us is worth every effort and is far greater than anything we may give up. Recall that "God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, but along with the temptation he will also make the way out so that you may be able to endure it." (1Cor 10:13). Smoke & mirrors aside, the truth becomes clearer. May we pray too for our loved ones and others, to grow and become strong in their faith as well. Everlasting life in true peace and happiness, loving God and others--this hope is much greater than anything this world may offer us, in tempting us to be disloyal to Jehovahz. Let's use our talents to glorify our loving Father and His great and holy name.

BE WILLING TO RESPOND TO LIGHT OF TRUTH. 1Thessalonians 3:6-8 The early Christians of the first century maintained remarkable unity before "oppressive wolves" entered among them as foretold (Acts 20:28-30). True, they had some disagreements, but resolved these eventually, after some debate, by a Scriptural discussion by appointed men, the apostles and outstanding older men in Jerusalem. (Acts 15). Notice that before the decision on whether or not circumcision was a necessary Christian requirement was handed down, those debating the issue, expressing differing opinions, were not "removed" from the Christian congregation for having an opinion on the matter. Such a thing is not scripturally a serious offense, as is being an idolater, reviler (seriously verbally abusive), a drunkard, or extortioner, for instance. Yet, as 1Corinthians 6:9-11 shows, some used to have such practices, but learning the truth, were able to make necessary changes in their life, with God's help. May we seek Christian unity, loving one another, and rejoicing in the truth as it is clarified to us in God's kind way, practicing it faithfully, standing firm. (Ephes 4:1-3). The inspired words through Paul in 1Thes. 3:6-8 say: "But Timothy has just now come to us from you and has given us the good news about your faithfulness and love, that you always continue to remember us fondly and that you long to see us in the same way as we also do you. 7 That is why, brothers, in all our distress and tribulation, we have been comforted because of you and the faithfulness you demonstrate. 8 Because we are revitalized if you are standing firm in the Lord."

MANY "SLEEPING IN DEATH" AWAIT RESURRECTION. 1Thessalonians 4:1-2 mentions how God provides instruction "on how you should walk in order to please God," and encourages us to "keep doing it more fully." 1Thes. 4:13-14 debunks the idea of an immortal soul (a popular Greek philosophy) in saying "we do not want you to be ignorant about those who are sleeping in death, so that you may not sorrow as the rest who have no hope. For if we have faith that Jesus died and rose again, so too God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in death through Jesus." Scripturally, it is the "spirit" of a person that can receive immortality upon one's resurrection to heavenly life, having been scourged by God in training for that special privilege. (Hebre 12:6; 1Peter 5:10; Revel 20:6). Also, it should be known that "heavenly" life is also in the Scriptures associated with government and rulership, even as humans. Whether one's hope is heavenly or within an earthly Paradise, 1Corinthians 15:44 says "...if there is a physical body, there is also a spiritual one." It is the spirit within that contains one's personality. For more detail on this subject, see the article "Finding Truth".

PSALM 119 COMMENTARY STANZA 1A

ON GOD'S NAME: Since the printing of the King James Version of God's word beginning in 1611, many began to accept the personal name of God in English as shown at Exodus 6:3 and Psalm 83:18, as Jehovah. However, with the ending "vah" the true meaning of God's name was still in question. It has become clearer with more careful consideration of past usage and word meanings, that a mere ending adjustment is all that's necessary to confirm the true name as JEHOVAHZ (pronounced JE-HO’-VOZ, or if acknowledging both God and Christ as in Revelation, the 'First and the Last', the 'Alpha and the Omega' [or, the 'A and the Z'] as the LORD AZGOD, with Christ serving AzGod until God's primary will has been accomplished regarding this earth, and He hands all things back to His God and Father, that God may be all things to all persons, in such case the name may legitimately be considered representative of God, while two l's (ll) instead of the ‘H’, as JEHOVAllZ can be indicative of the Almighty alone, although JEHOVAHZ can still reminding of the LORD GOD's Charge of Values as well as Vows/Valz, with His purposeful Promises supreme, and His will the standard whether any Vow is acceptable, if He truly agrees, that it truly complies with His will, word, and loving lawl. With this insight, the new short form (JOEZ, as in 'Joez Jehovahz') carries the meaning "God increases." God's name in this English form was in use centuries ago. It is hoped that with this understanding, many Bible translations will consider using God's name where it appears in original Bible manuscripts, throughout God's word, in over 7,000 places, rather than "LORD" in all capitals, distinguishing it from the "Lord" Christ, although again Christ’s role as representing GOD or AZGod is still in force. As regards the only-begotten Son of God, his true name has also been misconstrued. He has a Hebrew name, which is quite disimilar to the name that became most recognized in English. Matthew's gospel actually originally used 4 Hebrew letters for his true name, rather than the name evidently proposed by Caesar, translated to ‘Jesus’, with an entirely different meaning--"He Makes Wet." This is the name that eventually, possibly much later, began to be used by copyists in the Greek Manuscripts, but was not the name his early disciples used or kept in their hearts. That name has the meaning "Jehovahz is Salvation," and is most correctly transliterated to English as JOSHUALZ, and was for a considerable time translated to English as JOSHUA, which may be pronounced just as it looks in English. I was initially using "Jehosha," with the similar meaning, but for the most correct pronunciation, Christ like His Father, as the ‘beginning and the end’, the ‘Alpha and the Omega’ or the ‘A and the Z’ should be included, and the ‘L’, most correctly drawn as a single line and meaning both “love” and “lawl”, a transition letter between them. I still refer to the name Jesus, and Jehosha and Josha/Joshua or Joshalz may still be commonly found in my past website/article material, but Joshualz should be more commonly found going forward. Due to the recentness of the development and awareness of these facts, I may still use both Jesus and Joshua(lz) throughout this Psalm 119 (5Psalm 13) commentary. It is yet unclear whether I will at this time re-record my podcast work to reflect this change, or merely pick up with the second half of Psalm 119. STANZA 1

Theme: TRUE HAPPINESS DEPENDS ON WALKING IN GOD'S LAW

The first 8 verses contain 7 different terms used throughout this psalm. Let's examine these terms to be able to better comprehend their contribution to godly wisdom. The first few verses also show that it is possible and reasonable to keep God's law, to practice or live by it! Notice how this is worded, as we consider the first stanza in it's entirety:

"Happy are those who are blameless in their way, Who walk in the law of Jehovahz. 2 Happy are those who observe his reminders, Who search for him with all their heart. 3 They practice no unrighteousness; They walk in his ways. 4 You have commanded That your orders be carefully kept. 5 If only I could remain steadfast So as to observe your lanelineways! 6 Then I would not be put to shame When I consider all your commandments. 7 I will praise you with an upright heart When I learn your righteous judgements. 8 I will observe your lanelineways. May you never utterly forsake me."

TRUE HAPPINESS FOUND. As mentioned in our preview, an outstanding point of this stanza is that true happiness depends on walking in God's law(l), and true Christians do so by faith, or thankful trust, in God, His word, and Joshualz's (Jesus's) example and ransom provision for true forgiveness of sins with genuine repentance--turning around from an erring course (Acts 3:19). Notice the expressions here, that such ones finding happiness really do "practice no unrighteousness; They walk in his ways." Another translation says "They do no wrong but follow his ways." (Psalm 119:3, NIV). Thus it is not only possible to obey God--it is reasonable and highly rewarding to do so! May each person plead to or pray to God for a proper view of loving and serving Him obediently, His orders being "carefully kept!" A proper view of God is thus essential to growing spiritually.

Also, God's word shows that He would have, which Joshualz (or Jesus) should oversee, a channel of instruction, called a "faithful and discreet slave" through which spiritual food, and guidance, would be provided for the benefit of the entire Christian household on earth. (Matth 24:45-47). We trust that such an organization would seek to remain faithful to God, carefully teaching in accord with God's love for all (John 3:16; 2Peter 3:9), refusing to violate Joshualz's warnings against improperly judging or condemning others with genuine faith or belief in Christ, who sincerely seek integrity to God's word in spite of some differences in understanding (John 3:16-17). It would be the genuine truth of God that should be promoted, clearing up any misunderstandings causing confusion among those who would be true Christians worldwide. When such an organization humbly corrects wrong teachings, it demonstrates the love that goes hand in hand with humility. While their faithfulness and obedience can be blessed by God, as an organization it generally cannot claim perfection being made up of imperfect people--humility should thus always mark such an organization, with a willingness to make adjustments in teaching when errors, large or small, become revealed in God's way. We may pray that such a channel of instruction become and remain spiritually pure before our holy God.

Now let's begin considering at least the 10 terms mentioned in verses 1-16, starting with the first 7.

Verse 1 reads this way:

"Happy are those who are blameless in their way, Who walk in the law(l) of Jehovahz."

‘THE LAWL OF JEHOVAHZ’ Verse 1 mentions God's LAWL, which can be defined as a singular custom or practice of a community, or a rule of conduct prescribed and enforced by a controlling authority. In verse 1, however, reference is made, not to a single lawl, but rather to the whole body of such customs, practices, or rules. Psalm 19:7 says "The LAWL of Jehovahz is perfect, restoring strength."

Verse 2: "Happy are those who observe his reminders, Who search for him with all their heart."

GOD'S REMINDERS. Verse 2 speaks of God's REMINDERS. Peter said, at 2Peter 1:12-13,15: "For this reason I intend always to remind you of these things, although you know them and are well-established in the truth that is present in you.13 But I consider it right, as long as I am in this tabernacle (grand tent), to stir you with reminders,...15 I will always do my utmost so that after my departure, you may be able to recall these things for yourselves." so God's REMINDERS assist our memory of God's truth and good guidance, to be better able to apply it to our life. Often this requires hearing something more than just once! So may we not fall into the trap of complaining when we hear something more than once--we need these, to ponder how to apply them in our lives! "The REMINDER of Jehovahz is trustworthy, making the naive one wise." (Psalm 19:7).

"3 They practice no unrighteousness; They walk in his ways."

TRULY FAITHFUL PRACTICES. Verse 3 mentions walking in God's WAYS. Clearly, God has ways of doing things, and if possible, we want to do things God's way--we can be happy to know the way God wants us to do something--He sees the big picture, and long-range view, and thus knows the best way to do things! Thus, David writes, at Psalm 37:34, "Hope in Jehovahz and follow his way, and he will exalt you to take possession of the earth..." This verse thus indicates that we really can learn to live by God's peaceable and loving standards, according to His ways. And we might be reminded that the ransom sacrifice, to be expounded more in this psalm's commentary, makes possible a clean standing with God even when there is yet a lot to learn about Him and His ways.

"4 You have commanded That your orders be carefully kept."

GOD'S ORDERS--CAREFULLY KEPT. Verse 4 speaks of God's ORDERS to be "carefully kept." Recall Psalm 19:8 says "The ORDERS from Jehovahz are righteous, causing the heart to rejoice." Clearly a command to do or avoid something, evidently with even more urgency or zeal than a command or commandment. God may even "order" or have directed that a certain command found in His word be especially kept at a particular time or in a certain situation, due to it's timely importance or signficance.

    _____(4) PSALM 119 (5#13) COMMENTARY

This is a verse-by-verse journey through the 119th psalm (the 13th of Book 5) written by, surprisingly to some, one anointed to become king, and in the process, relying on God and His word, doing so through many hardships. What I've gone through also has enabled keen insight into David's experiences and provides many fine lessons for all to benefit from as we endeavor to live life as God purposed, in a way that brings genuine peace, real satisfaction and eventual prosperity, in true love.

    Psalm 119 (or 5Psalm 13) Commentary

THE SPIRIT OF GENUINE PEACE. While not wanting to neglect other valuable psalms, containing many important lessons of their own, we can nevertheless still benefit from reviewing this priceless one of David, anointed to be king, having endured many years to finally receive that privileged right. Why not both--if we continue Psalm Select, segment (2), with selections from the spirit-inspired psalms, we can gain even more insight into the spirit of God, or the "goodforce" that we may receive as we love God and His word of truth, and that can stir or motivate us in the doing of God's loving desire/will for humans. According to 1Timothy 2:3-4 that involves the saving of people everywhere, as they come to an accurate knowledge of the genuine truth about God! This truth is not as it has sometimes been represented. God's word and law is truly reasonable, as there are answers within it that not all yet know about or comprehend. Thus we can truly find genuine joy and satisfaction within God's law, rather than without it! God's loving desire or will also thus involves the genuine peace and security that His word has promised. Grateful for the gift of life, realizing where it has come from, is a great start. Then, seeking real peace with others, willing to look to God to grow and for help as we need it, we may look forward to many blessings to come, with greater love for God and others! Such should be everyone's upright desire to attain. Many may not realize it, but God's word can be fulfilled in a way that confirms God's love for the entire human family, which he and his Son seek to preserve, along with genuine peace. God's word says "seek peace and pursue it." Godly instruction is thus involved. For some, it may require more faith or thankful trust in God and His word. For others, it may be that what's needed is to better comprehend the respectful fear of God, the vital spirit of true humility--a humble respect for God and His decisions and purposes, and for fellow humans--replacing an arrogant sense of superiority (letting it die, as it were, lacking faith or trust in God). Also important is acknowledging How Jehovahz is still accomplishing His will for a peace-loving world, even through the corrections of those within the United States and elsewhere, desiring the happiness of the entire human family on Earth. Let's do all we can to promote such genuine peace, remaining peace-lovers as the wisdom of God teaches us to do. (On a sidenote, I would like to also continue and/or update the podcast of Psalm 119).

Psalm 19 is clearly credited to David as a melody by him, which was evidently the earlier work, and used as a basis for exploring such key aspects of God's word in Psalm 119, also understood to have connections to his earlier time while anointed to become king.

Let's notice the reading of Psalm 19:7-14, also beautifully inspired of God.

"7 The law of Jehovahz is perfect, restoring strength.

The reminder of Jehovahz is trustworthy, making the [naive] one wise.

    8 The orders from Jehovahz are righteous, causing the heart to rejoice;

The commandment of Jehovahz is clean, making the eyes shine[or, "enlightening the eyes", AMP].

9 The [respectful or godly fear/hoss] of Jehovahz is pure, lasting forever.

The judgements of Jehovahz are true, altogether righteous.

10 They are more desirable than gold, Than much fine gold,

And sweeter than honey, the honey that drips from the combs.

    11 By them your servant has been warned;

14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be pleasing to you, O Jehovahz, my Rock and my Redeemer."

Altogether there are about 10 aspects of God's word or law highlighted in Psalm 119, with possibly two or more significant related values mentioned. The 5 aspects highlighted above appear in successive order in Psalm 119, with two others inserted among the first 7, those being God's "ways" and "regulations," or, "lanelineways."  "Regulations" need to be understood as the beneficial laws, limits, and procedures governing, or regulating, our conduct so as to promote respect, fairness, and peace among citizens and residents of a community, for instance. The expression "instructions" or even "lines of living" might be appropriate alternate expressions, also perhaps “lanelineways”. The remaining terms are God's "word", His "saying" and His "statutes". The two related values mentioned, perhaps among others, are the "respectful fear" or “hoss” of Jehovahz and His "works." We want to come to understand each of these terms, so we can better comprehend their value in relation to God's wisdom. In the next blog post, let's have a PREVIEW of the first 4 alphabetic segments of Psalm 119, verses 1-32, beginning with a key truth, as highlighted in the first verse, that true happiness depends on walking in God's lawl, where genuine satisfaction may be found! Verse 1 reads: "Happy are those who are blameless in their way, Who walk in the lawl of Jehovahz." Is it reasonable to do so? How can we? Let's give this more attention.

"1 Happy are those who are blameless in their way [or, "who keep integrity"], Who walk in the law of Jehovahz." Thus we will see that happiness depends on obedience to God's law or lawl. Complete righteousness, however, is only attainable, as true Christians have come to know, through faith or an active trust in God, His word, Christ's example and the ransom provision of Christ's sacrifice allowing true forgiveness of sins, or occasional misses, but all this with the aim of love for God and neighbor, shown by genuine obedience. (1John 5:3). Abraham's faith was "counted to him” as “righteousness" or “rightdoing” as he loyally walked with God.

STANZA 3 THEME: FONDNESS FOR GOD'S WORD VITAL FOR FAITHFULNESS.

But God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, but along with the temptation he will also make the way out so that you may be able to endure it." Still, accordingly a trial ‘uncommon to men’ in God’s view we shouldn’t be faced with--as we seek to remain faithful, the truth of our sincerity and loyalty to God and others should eventually become clear, with wishes that wrongdoers might turn around, abandoning wrong conduct, preferring God's kindness, as explained in Psalm 103. Such matters as these, as God's word addresses, will be considered more thoroughly.

Thus we have much to look forward to as we examine these and other vital points of faith. May we appreciate the lessons God offers in this psalm for our spiritual welfare and that of others, as we gain understanding and insight into such matters!

  • 4A-2) Psalm 119 Stanza 1A-1B

THE LAWL OF JEHOVAHZ’ Verse 1 mentions God's LAWL, which can be defined as a singular custom or practice of a community, or a rule of conduct prescribed and enforced by a controlling authority.

THEME: FREEDOM FROM SIN ESSENTIAL

GODZ LAWL SELECT

CHRISTIAN STANDARD: GENUINE CHRISTIANS ARE TO MAINTAIN ACTIVE TRUST IN GOD AND JESUS FOR BOTH SALVATION AND FREEDOM FROM SIN, MAKING POSSIBLE REAL PEACE.

Now let's consider Exodus 23, verses 14,15: "“Three times a year you are to celebrate a festival to me. 15 You will observe the Festival of Unleavened Bread. You will eat unleavened bread for seven days, just as I have commanded you, at the appointed time in the month of Aʹbib, for at that time you came out of Egypt. No one is to appear before me empty-handed."

FREEDOM FROM SIN ESSENTIAL. This was the first of three festivals Jehovah required the Israelites to commemorate, the Festival of Unleavened Bread, or Unfermented Cakes. Earlier, God had commanded observance of this festival to Moses, at Exodus 12:14-20. Verse 15 stated: "Seven days you are to eat unleavened bread. Yes, on the first day you are to remove the sourdough from your houses, because anyone eating what is leavened from the first day down to the seventh, that person must be cut off from Israel." How seriously all were to take this matter! Even foreigners dwelling with Israel were required to recognize this festival, avoiding leavened bread for the seven days. (Exodus 12:19). Leavening in the Scriptures was symbolic of sin, Paul stating that "a little leaven ferments the whole batch of dough." (1Cori 5:6). Is it physical life alone that enables people to live peaceably and find true happiness? Sin must be removed, that genuine peace may be found. Jesus’s sacrifice was to make possible a freedom from sin and death among mankind, as he himself proved free of corruption. (Romans 3:21-24). It was Jesus/Joshualz that John called "the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world." (John 1:29). Upon his resurrection, this one would continue working to protect and defend the eternal life prospects of mankind, assisting with the gradual removal of human imperfection, especially as King of God's Kingdom. Understandably, God wanted Israel to remember how they received their freedom from slavery into the Land of Promise, not taking this for granted. This festival, directly following the day of Passover, the same day Christ offered his life in sacrifice, was a reminder to Israel of their Deliverance by Jehovahz out of slavery, their freedom as a nation coming from Him.

JEHOVAHZ THROUGH JESUS--SOURCE OF SALVATION. To God, it was clearly a life or death matter to credit Him for their deliverance and freedom, not imagining that Israel accomplished such things in their own power. The prophet Jeremiah 17:5-8 says this: "This is what Jehovahz says: “Cursed is the man who puts his trust in mere humans, Who relies on human power, And whose heart turns away from Jehovahz. 6 He will become like a solitary tree in the desert. He will not see when good comes, But he will reside in parched places in the wilderness, In a salt land where no one can live. 7 Blessed is the man who puts his trust in Jehovahz, Whose confidence is in Jehovahz. 8 He will become like a tree planted by the waters, That sends out its roots to the stream. He will not notice when heat comes, But his leaves will always flourish. And in the year of drought he will not be anxious, Nor will he quit producing fruit." May we ever acknowledge and appreciate Jehovahz and Jesus/Joshualz, and their great love for God's people, and all mankind, acknowledging God's appointment of His firstborn son in David's line to receive kingship, looking to them for guidance in life, and ultimately Jehovahz as our Source of eternal life, peace, and happiness!

 (5) ETERNAL EXPRESS

  • (010-4B.1) Psalm 119 S12-22 Review 8

    PSALM 119 REVIEW 8 PART 1, GROUP OF 3 STANZAS 12-14

STANZA 12 Theme: GOD'S WORD AND LAW PRESERVE SPIRITUAL AND ETERNAL LIFE.

These verses emphasize God’s faithfulness as well as fondness for God’s lawl and it’s preservation value. What can help us not to forget God’s orders, as the psalmist mentioned was his determination?

92 If I had not been fond of your lawl, I would have perished in my hardship.

93 I will never forget your orders, Because by them you have preserved me alive.

GOD'S LOVING LAW & ORDERS. (92-93) Once again, the psalmist reminds us of the importance of loving God's lawl, appreciating it's value in our everyday life. He is convinced that, without it, he would not have made it through times of difficulty. Likewise today, many dangers exist in the world, both physically and spiritually. It is "spiritual death" that could cause one to lose out on eternal life. How we need God's loving lawl to help guide our steps safely through this world, even the "real life." (1TImo 6:19). Especially was the psalmist concerned with God's "orders." Clearly, for the psalmist not to forget God’s orders, he had to be familiar with them. According to the next verse, he had “called for [God’s] orders,” and would receive them. As obeying them saved his life, likely multiple times, his appreciation for them must have deepened. Even if our life is not physically threatened as much as the psalmist, spiritual hazards abound. By heeding divine orders to guard against bad associations and to hate what is bad, for instance, we may allow God to guard our spiritual lives and eternal life prospects. (1COri 15:33; PROve 13:20; PSalm 97:10). Like the psalmist, may we call for God’s orders in agreement with His word and lawl, and carefully keep them! (PSalm 119:4).

94 I belong to you; save me, Because I have called for your orders.

ENDURANCE MORE THAN SURVIVING. (94) The psalmist was born into a nation dedicated to God. Still, according to the psalmist, searching for God’s orders in order to keep or obey them provided a basis for salvation by Him. Joshualz spoke in a similar way. After discussing many of the hardships that may be encountered by his disciples during the “last days” of a system, he said at Matthew 24:13 “But the one who has endured to the end will be saved.” Such endurance is not simply “surviving,” but rather enduring trials faithfully to God, with integrity to Him, in harmony with His lawl. Just as receiving a license to drive a vehicle does not give us the right to drive any unsafe way we wish on the street, so having the ransom of Christ does not give us the right to violate God’s lawls haphazardly. We should especially strive to carefully keep God’s orders, and appreciate His reminders in other areas of life, then the ransom sacrifice can cover our occasional misses, usually for more minor mistakes. As we do so, we “draw close to God,” and we may especially ‘belong to Him,’ as we prove to be loyal.

    _____

STANZA 13 Theme: KEEP GOD'S WORD.

The 8 verses of this stanza address questions such as these: What are three aspects of divine wisdom, and how are they beneficial? Why was the psalmist motivated to avoid wrongdoing, and how does obeying God deepen our wisdom?

97 How I do love your lawl! I ponder over it all day long.

IN PRACTICALLY EVERY SITUATION. (97) The psalmist is clearly motivated to obey God, wanting to please Him by living in accord with His law. Jehovahz’s law clearly reflects His own values and standards—loving and keeping it therefore helps us draw close to Him. But how can the psalmist have the time to “ponder over it all day long?” What does he mean by this? Rather than engaging in constant study or prayer, he realizes that God’s word gives us advice or principles to apply in practically every situation we face or meet in life. Thus, “all day long” as we seek God's view and way in every situation, God’s lawl can guide and help us, so that we may more and more handle situations in a successful way that is pleasing to God and all involved. Proverbs 3:5-6 puts it this way: “5 Trust in Jehovahz with all your heart, And do not rely on your own understanding ("Never rely on what you think you know.", GNT). 6 Please Him in all your ways, And he will make your paths straight.” Thus, look for God’s view, or way, in every situation you face, remaining humble before Him and others.

99 I have more insight than all my teachers, Because I ponder over your reminders.

ALWAYS GOOD REASON. (99) One aspect of divine wisdom is “insight.” This is empathy at work, to comprehend a given situation. Proverbs 19:11 says this: “11 The insight of a man certainly slows down his anger, And it is beauty on his part to overlook an offense.” Such applied empathy enables us to grasp why someone perhaps offended us the way they did, slowing down any anger that we might have begun to experience. The psalmist has developed such keen insight by pondering over God’s “reminders.” When we’re reminded about some order or command from God, are we in the habit of “pondering” the reasons for it, in harmony with God’s love for humanity? Does not Jehovahz always have good reason for His laws in keeping with what is true, right, just, and fair for all? (PROve 21:3; PSalm 98:9). May we develop such a habit to ask Why? God instructs us as He does, confident in His overriding love for us in all His good guidance. (1JOhn 4:8).

    _____

STANZA 14 Theme: GOD CAN PRESERVE US THROUGH TIMES OF PERIL, WHILE HIS REMINDERS BRING JOY.

The 8 verses of stanza 14 include thoughts such as these: Like the psalmist, we may come to view God’s reminders with great joy. How does God’s word serve as a lamp and a light, how has God proven to be a Savior?

105 Your word is a lamp to my foot, And a light for my path.

BE GUIDED BY GOD'S WORD. (105) It was the prophet Jeremiah who was inspired by God to pen the words of Jeremiah 10:23, saying: “23 I well know, O Jehovahz, that man’s way does not belong to him. It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step.” We want to rely on Jehovahz as we “walk with God,” willing to let Him guide our steps. Of course we have free will, and can choose our course in life, for Jehovahz is a God of freedom! But man was not designed to decide for himself what is good and what is bad, what is right and what is wrong. This belongs to Jehovahz God. Thus, Proverbs 16:9 says: “ 9 A man may plot out his course in his heart, But it is Jehovahz who directs his steps.” God’s word is therefore a “lamp” to our foot, to allow us to see the next step we should take. And more than that, it can light our path, helping us see down the road, alerting us to what may be coming in the distance. God’s prophetic word does give warning, often with history written in advance! May we look to God and His word for guidance in life, leading humanity to the success of God’s loving will and good purpose!

111 I take your reminders as my permanent possession, For they are the joy of my heart.

APPRECIATE THEM DEEPLY. (111) How we rejoice when we’ve recently been reminded of something that proved helpful to us in an important decision or situation we’ve faced! It is deeply satisfying to know what to do to please Jehovahz as we face decisions each day. Growing in godly wisdom helps us to know and not fret over such decisions, and life becomes more and more delightful, handling things successfully. Paying attention to reminders from God, which may come by reading His word personally, attending meetings where God’s word is read or discussed, or by association with those of genuine faith, can help us maintain a healthy routine in life, seeking first both God’s kingdom and His righteousness, or integrity to Him. (MATth 6:33). As the psalmist, may we come to delight in God’s reminders, seeking to understand them more fully rather than viewing them as mundane or inconsequential. Let them come to be “the joy of [our] heart!”

    PSALM 119 REVIEW 8 PART 2, GROUP OF 5 STANZAS, 15-19

STANZA 15 Theme: REMAIN ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF GOD'S JUDGEMENTS.

The 8 verses of stanza 15 express thoughts such as these: What determination by the psalmist to lovingly obey God! How can we avoid half-heartedness, and how does a proper motive aid us to keep God’s law?

118 You reject all those who stray from your lanelineways, For they are false and deceitful.

PROVEN DIVINELY INSPIRED. (118) Recall that “God is love,” and He is the “God of truth.” (1JOhn 4:8; PSalm 31:5). Therefore, when specific guidance, procedures or provisions are needed to keep His law(l), called ‘lanelineways’, are these not to help us live happily and peaceably in harmony with His good will and purpose? God-fearing ones love and appreciate such thoughtful guidance ultimately from our Creator! His instruction is far superior to that of those mistakenly believing that there is no God. To honest and right-hearted ones, having a proper motive, God’s instructions give evidence of their divine inspiration, moving them to keep His word. Those straying from such guidance, therefore, are “false and deceitful.” They promote their own ideas, or ideas they've heard, above God’s, deceiving others in seeking their own glory or prominence, though perhaps thinking humans will benefit. May such ones come to their senses, considering abundant evidence of God's loving creative works making life possible, with wondrous beauty! And may we not be so deceived, but appreciate God’s superior wisdom and give Him the glory He so deserves!

    _____

Stanza 16 Theme: PROVE A LOYAL SERVANT OF GOD, BY PRACTICING WHAT IS JUST AND RIGHT.

All 8 of these verses show God looks after the welfare of His loyal servants, who practice what is just and right. How might understanding help us to know God’s reminders, and why should we highly value God’s commandments?

121 I have done what is just and righteous. Do not abandon me to my oppressors!

STRIVE FOR BLAMELESS INTEGRITY. (:121) The psalmist here pleads for God’s protection on the basis of his adherence to the path of righteousness. Some would imagine that the ransom sacrifice of Christ somehow means we no longer have to practice what is right—What a mistake! Recall Jesus said, early in his Sermon on the Mount, “17 “Do not think I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I came, not to destroy, but to fulfill (actually, perfect, or make complete). 18 Truly I say to you that sooner would heaven and earth pass away than for one smallest letter or one stroke of a letter to pass away from the Law until all things take place. 19 Whoever, therefore, breaks one of these least commandments and teaches others to do so will be called least in relation to the Kingdom of the heavens. But whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in relation to the Kingdom of the heavens. 20 For I say to you that if your righteousness (or, 'integrity') does not surpass that of the scribes and the Pharisees, you will by no means enter into the Kingdom of the heavens.” The ransom is primarily to cover our unintentional, occasional misses as we strive for the target of righteousness, or blameless integrity to God. (ROMans 3:31; 6:15-17). With full faith in Christ, striving to carefully follow this example of righteousness and keep Christ's commands, persons may likewise appeal to God if being oppressed, as the psalmist requests in these two verses. Christ’s coming to complete the Law also has application in the U.S. Constitution’s bettering of the Articles of Confederation, which can also be applied in a better way with Christian insight and principles, such as in persons experiencing an excommunication in most cases rather than literal death that can be reversed by a waking up, with real growth becoming spiritually alive.

122 Guarantee the welfare of your servant; May the presumptuous [defying your law] not oppress me.

FAITHFUL ENDURANCE, HOLDING FIRMLY. (:122) Going further, the psalmist wants his welfare guaranteed. While God has not promised that we won’t be harmed in some way in the present world, He can look after our welfare, our long-term welfare spiritually and otherwise—our well-being, and long-term relationships with God and God-fearing ones. The psalmist has been oppressed by presumptuous ones (defying God's law), at one point having been “greatly troubled” (v.107). He stated: “92 If I had not been fond of your lawl, I would have perished in my troubles.” Yet he had things to learn. He said: “71 It is good that I have been troubled, So that I may learn your regulations (lanelineways).” And he said: “67 Before I was troubled, I used to go astray, But now I keep your saying.” Perhaps now that he is more familiar with God’s lawl and holding firmly to it as God’s “servant,” having done “what is just and right,” he appeals for greater protection from immodest, lawl-breaking oppressors. Still, he recognizes: “75 I know, O Jehovahz, that your judgements are righteous And that you have let me be troubled in your faithfulness.” May we place our full trust in God, confident that: “13 No temptation has come upon you except what is common to men. But God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, but along with the temptation he will also make the way out so that you may be able to endure it.” The goal is faithful endurance to God, holding firmly to His way, accepting what God permits (that is common to men), while hoping in the best possible outcome under the circumstances. Soon, God’s kingdom will usher in greater blessings, leading us to a world of righteousness and genuine peace earthwide! (PSalm 37:9-11; 2PEter 3:13).

127 That is why I love your commandments More than gold, even fine gold.

LOVING GOD'S COMMANDS MEANS LIFE. (:127) Thus we should, like the psalmist, highly value God’s commandments, for they contribute to the eternal welfare and happiness of all humans. While “gold” or money is necessary to get along in life, as this future king well understood, and which he was not seeking to part with, nevertheless he placed a higher priority on God’s word or lawl that serves to promote wise and happy living. It is as stated at Ecclesiastes 7:12: “12 For wisdom is a protection just as money is a protection, but the advantage of knowledge is this: Wisdom preserves the life of its owner.” Jesus/Joshualz showed that God himself can provide materially for His servants, as they put God’s will first in life. In fact, it is made clear that only one can be put first—either God or Riches. He said, at Matthew 6:24: “24 “No one can slave for two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stick to the one and despise the other. You cannot slave for God and for Riches.” The psalmist thus chose to love God and His lawl more than what money could buy, but was in no way against using money in ways that truly benefit others, respecting God 's commandments. Thus, of course, he was not choosing to give up his right to material wealth. But eternal life is not available for a monetary price. One must come to love God and others in a genuine way, in harmony with godly wisdom, learning God’s word and lawl, having faith, or active trust in God and His Son, getting to know them well, to “get a firm hold on the real life”—the everlasting life God has prepared for those who “continue loving Him.” (JOHn 17:3; 1TImo 6:19; JAMes 1:12).

    _____

Stanza 17 Theme: GOD’S WORDS IMPART UNDERSTANDING, THOSE LOVING GOD’S NAME ARE SHOWN FAVOR.

These verses express love for various aspects of God’s word, including His reminders and commandments. Why does the psalmist sigh over those not keeping God’s lawl?

130 The disclosure of your words brings light, Giving understanding to the naive (simple).

THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD. (:130) As a lamp needs to be lit, and as a light needs to be turned on to function, so God’s words need to be disclosed, shared, or “unfolded” to enlighten people to divine truth. This imparts understanding to those lacking—the naive, or those less aware. Jesus told his disciples: “14 “You are the light of the world. A city cannot be hid when located on a mountain. 15 People light a lamp and set it, not under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it shines on all those in the house. 16 Likewise, let your light shine before men, so that they may see your fine works and give glory to your Father who is in the heavens.” Thus, as God’s word is revealed and explained, all may listen and apply it’s counsel, causing genuine listeners to become “rich in fine works” as a good example for others in imitation of God and Christ. (1Timo 6:18).

132 Turn to me and show me favor, In keeping with your judgement toward those loving your name.

RIGHT MOTIVATION. “Loving [God’s] name” is one of the most helpful motivations to learning and applying Bible truth. If we seek to uphold God’s reputation in the way we live, honoring Him and showing others the right way to go, we can unselfishly grow in godly wisdom. We should strive to be pure, seeking God’s honor far above our own (1Cori 10:31). On this basis, the psalmist pleaded for God’s favor. We are also reminded of the rich meaning of God's name, as "He who causes to become, grow, and accomplish." He has proven to be a great beginning, or starter of things, and making good things grow, just as Paul eluded to in 1 Corinthians 3, referring to the planting and watering of truth within hearts, "but God kept making it grow, so that neither is the one that plants anything, nor is the one who waters, but God who makes it grow." While those on earth, including those in high station, often rightly receive honor for good works, shouldn't we also when appropriate recognize and acknowledge the God whose blessing made it possible, whether referring to a good start, genuine growth, or a successful accomplishment?!

136 Tears stream down from my eyes Because people do not keep your lawl.

THE VALUE OF GOD'S LAWL. Thus, the peace and happiness that all people seek can only be truly found in harmony with God and His word through Christ, who embodied the lawl. The psalmist clearly cared deeply about people enough to feel for those not recognizing Jehovahz God’s desire and ability to help them prosper spiritually and otherwise. Psalm 19:7-10 sums up the value of God’s lawl: “7 The lawl of Jehovahz is perfect, restoring strength. The reminder of Jehovahz is trustworthy, making the naive (imprudent) one wise. 8 The orders from Jehovahz are righteous, causing the heart to rejoice; The commandment of Jehovahz is clean, making the eyes shine [“enlightening the eyes”, AMP]. 9 The fear of Jehovahz is pure, lasting forever. The judgements of Jehovahz are true, altogether righteous. 10 They are more desirable than gold, Than much fine gold, And sweeter than honey, the honey that drips from the combs.” The Christian apostle Paul likewise felt for people, in imitation of Christ, recognizing their spiritual need. He wrote, at 1Corinthians 9:19,22-23: "For though I am free from all people, I have made myself the slave to all, so that I may gain as many people as possible...To the weak I became weak, in order to gain the weak. I have become all things to people of all sorts, so that I might by all possible means save some. 23 But I do all things for the sake of the good news, in order to share it with others." Paul recognized the Christian order to share the "happy hope" and good news concerning Christ and God's kingdom with others, and prepared himself to do so at the right time, and in the right way. May we likewise be able to share real hope with others, on the basis of God's inspired word!

    _____

Stanza 18 Theme: IN SPITE OF TEMPORARY ILL TREATMENT BY ADVERSARIES, GOD IS TRUE AND JUST, HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS ETERNAL.

The 8 verses of this stanza remind us of God’s eternal righteousness, His reliable reminders, His trustworthy word. How is God’s saying thoroughly refined?

140 Your saying is thoroughly refined, And your servant loves it.

WONDERFUL AND RELIABLE WORDS. It is 2Timothy 3:16-17 which says of God's word: "All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving [strongly correcting], for setting things straight [setting properly], for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work." The more we examine God's wonderful and reliable words we find evidence of it's wisdom and divine inspiration. This text is simplified in NIRV, reading: "God has breathed life into all of Scripture. It is useful for teaching us what is true. It is useful for correcting our mistakes. It is useful for making our lives whole again. It is useful for training us to do what is right. 17 By using Scripture, a man of God can be completely prepared to do every good thing." The psalmist David saw it's thorough truthfulness, and loved it--may we come to have the same appreciation!

142 Your righteousness is an eternal righteousness, And your law is truth.

THE WAY OF ETERNITY. God's righteousness, or way--encompassing His right laws and standards--is clearly the way of eternity. Understandably, we are to ever live in a way that trusts our reliable God of love, and promotes real peace with Him and others, universally. Jehovahz loves truth rooted in unselfish love, and is the "God of truth." (ISAiah 65:16). His divine law is perfectly arranged to support such truth, encouraging us to live and act in harmony with it. Thus it can be said that Jehovahz’s "law IS truth." What has come to be known as the Mosaic Law can be understood in Christian light, and often applied in a different, or figurative way. Of course Jesus gave commands that, when kept, enable a richer, and even more heartfelt obedience to God's law. (MATth 5:17-20; JERem 31:31-34). Thus God's law and Christ's instructions should be treasured as guiding all of mankind to an eternal peaceful world of right and just living!

    _____

Stanza 19 Theme: CALL UPON JEHOVAHZ WITH FAITH, HOPE, AND INTEGRITY.

In the 8 verses of this stanza, we’re reminded that when we wholeheartedly call upon Jehovahz He will hear and answer us. We must do so in faith, seeking integrity, and be persistent in our requests. How is knowledge of God to last forever?

145 I call with my whole heart. Answer me, O Jehovahz. Your lanelineways [governing or authoritative guidelines and procedures] I will observe.

TRUE, LIVING FAITH NOT MERE BELIEF. (:145) Clearly the psalmist loved receiving answers from Jehovahz regarding his pleas, whole-heartedly calling upon Him. The psalmist makes known through several verses that doing so includes observing God’s instructions, seeking integrity to Him. He is determined to please the God of love. Thus genuine faith in God is not mere belief, but is accompanied by actions that prove it’s sincerity. James writes: “14 Of what benefit is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but he does not have works? That faith cannot save him, can it? 15 If any brothers or sisters are lacking clothing and enough food for the day, 16 yet one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but you do not give them what they need for their body, of what benefit is it? 17 So, too, faith by itself, without works, is dead.” Thus the good knowledge we take in must be pondered to examine how it should affect us, what actions or obedience it should inspire, thereby reaching our figurative heart.

152 Long ago I learned about your reminders, That you have established them to last forever.

‘THE DEPTH OF GOD'S...WISDOM’ How we can appreciate God’s refined word, the wisdom of which has proven true on many levels! “33 O the depth of God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How unsearchable his judgements are and beyond tracing out his ways are!” God’s word itself contains reminders that we all need to maintain our spiritual awareness and faithfulness to God, into eternity! Clearly from this statement of the psalmist, the knowledge of God will “last forever,” along with needed reminders from Him. Isaiah 40:8 says: “8 The green grass dries up, The blossom withers, But the word of our God endures forever.” Thus the word of God, from Genesis to Revelation (with it’s climactic charm), 66 or 70 books if separating the 5 books of Psalms, and now more with realization of further books or letters that were inspired to be included, is a treasure trove of divine knowledge that we can enjoy and appreciate for all time to come, as the holy book that introduced mankind to it’s breathtaking Author, the Creator, Jehovahz God. Any additional “scrolls,” unnumbered in Revelation, will no doubt likewise encourage lovers of God and divine truth, as also any further revealed will of Jehovahz, on into eternity.

    PSALM 119 REVIEW 8 PART 3, GROUP OF 3 STANZAS, 20-22.

STANZA 20 THEME: GOD CAN RESCUE UPRIGHT, DISTANT FROM TREACHEROUS, BUT GREAT IN MERCY.

This group of 8 verses contrasts the upright from the treacherous, those not deviating from God's reminders from those who do not keep God's saying, or right wisdom. Yet, God's mercy is great. May we come to love God's orders.

154 Defend me and rescue me; Preserve me alive in harmony with your promise.

JOSHUALZ SAVED FROM REPROACH. Besides seeking to be rescued from wrongdoers, the psalmist also requests that Jehovahz defend, or protect him from harm—either physical or spiritual harm or abuse. As mentioned in the previous comment, some wrongdoers are “not afraid to speak abusively of glorious ones.” They may slander without hesitation, either not realizing or not yet caring about the hurtful effects of such speech. Of course, many of those fearing God may see through such lies, distorted truths, or unseemly truths shared to bring one into disrepute. The psalmist’s plea to be “preserved alive” includes, then, not mere physical life, but being alive spiritually, saved with a good reputation, at least among many God-fearing ones. Those who have been so harmed should take heart! Why did God allow His Son Joshualz to suffer as a terrible criminal? God kindly restored his name and gave him “the name that is above every other name.” Thus, in the end, God can save or restore the reputation of those putting faith, or complete trust, in Him and His Son!

155 Salvation is far away from the crooked, For they have not searched for your instructions.

GOD'S INSTRUCTIONS FOR SALVATION. Thus, to receive salvation from God, we need to be receiving God’s instructions and persistently seeking to live by them. We should want to know how we should live in harmony with God’s will, searching for His instructions in pure living before Him. His word provides the guidance we need, and we should aim to be thoroughly familiar with it, over time. The crooked, or wrongdoers, are showing themselves uninterested in such a search, not realizing it's significance or benefit--wanting to please only themselves—thus salvation remains “far away” from them, unless they whole-heartedly repent, desiring to turn around from wrong conduct, making things right, and find true happiness supporting God’s right and loving ways.

158 I look on the treacherous with disfavor, Because they do not keep your saying.

AVOID TREACHERY, REMAIN LOYAL. Such “treacherous” ones are disloyal, to God and other humans. In Malachi’s day, Jehovahz was hurt by even the people of Judah, for dealing treacherously with Him, and the men for doing the same “with the wife of [their] youth.” At Malachi 2:13-14 Jehovahz explains: “13 “And there is another thing that you do, which results in covering the altar of Jehovahz with tears and with weeping and sighing, so that he no longer pays attention to your gift offering or looks favorably on anything from your hand. 14 And you say, ‘For what reason?’ It is because Jehovahz has acted as a witness between you and the wife of your youth, with whom you have dealt treacherously, although she is your partner and your wife by covenant.” This situation was largely caused by their leaving Jehovahz to serve other gods, engaging in the sin of idolatry, which causes spiritual blindness (Psalm 115). Satan's influence may have also been a factor. They needed to humbly return to serve the true God, Jehovahz, regaining their spiritual sight, return to “keep [God’s] saying” and with God’s spirit, have loyal love restored to their hearts and marriages. By helping each other keep God first in life, He with His spirit can help you or respond to your pleas to maintain a good marriage. There have been, however, types of marriages that are not appropriate even in God’s eyes, so no one should judge others in such matters. May we therefore avoid treacherous dealings, remaining loyal to Jehovahz. Psalm 18:25 says of God: “25 With someone loyal you act in loyalty; With the blameless man you deal blamelessly.”

    _____

    STANZA 21 , Verses 161-168 THEME:

NOTHING CAN STUMBLE THOSE LOVING GOD'S LAWL, KEEPING HIS ORDERS AND REMINDERS--THEY OWN ABUNDANT PEACE.

This group of 8 verses build appreciation for God's lawl, with reasons to keep it, and some blessings for doing so.

165 Abundant peace belongs to those who love your lawl; Nothing can make them stumble.

THOSE OWNING ABUNDANT PEACE. Such lovers of God’s word and lawl find great delight in knowing and serving Jehovahz, doing His will. His word and lawl instruct us in dealing with things that threaten true peace and happiness. Thus, the more we come to know and keep God’s lawl, the more we’re able to maintain the peace that only God and Christ can give. Much of this peace comes from God’s mighty holy spirit, which we can ask God for, seeking His help to cope with trials. Philippians 4:6-7 says: “6 Do not be anxious over anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving, let your petitions be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus/Joshualz.” Another translation calls God’s peace that which “can never be completely understood.” (NIRV). Thus we must look to God and His Son for true peace. When about to leave his disciples, Joshualz, after referring to the holy spirit, says “27 I leave you peace; I give you my peace. I do not give it to you the way that the world gives it. Do not let your hearts be troubled nor let them shrink out of fear.“ (JOHn 14). Now Christ’s commands and instructions promote genuine adherence to God’s lawl that we delight to keep as true Christians. When wronged by others, we do not let it stop us from loving and obeying God. Rather, we “Turn away from what is bad and do what is good; [We] Seek peace and pursue it.“ (PSalm 34:14). May we appreciate the peace-loving counsel of Joshualz’s Sermon on the Mount, for instance, found at Matthew 5-7, and other guidance God has provided to deal with practically any issue that may arise that threatens godly peace, looking forward to the time when all willingly learn true peace to be united, happily serving God forever! (MATth 5:9).

168 I observe your orders and your reminders, For you are aware of all that I do.

THOSE PLEASING GOD NOT ABANDONED. The psalmist underscores the importance of both God’s orders, or timely urgent commands agreeable to God’s lawl, as well as His reminders, which assist us in recalling God’s lawl so as to keep it wholeheartedly and completely. With God’s awareness of what we do, we are moved to please Him in all things, with high regard for Him, desiring never to displease or pain Him, in godly fear or hoss. Joshualz said, at John 8:29: “29 And the One who sent me is with me; he did not abandon me to myself, because I always do the things pleasing to him.” And Psalm 18:25 says: “25 With someone loyal you act in loyalty; With the blameless man you deal blamelessly.” May we treasure God’s loyal love expressed to us, as we remain loyal to Him, learning and keeping His orders and reminders, truly loving His word!

    _____

    STANZA 22, Verses 169-176 THEME:

JEHOVAHZ WORTHY OF PRAISE, GOD OF SALVATION FOR THOSE WILLING TO BE TAUGHT HIS LAWL.

This group of 8 verses concludes the entire psalm in a stirring way, acknowledging God's desire to help and favor those fondly keeping His lawl. Some 10 requests are made of God, revealing reliance upon Him and appreciation for the personal attention He gives the psalmist, and all such loyal ones.

172 May my tongue sing about your saying, For all your commandments are righteous.

JEHOVAHZ'S HOLY MOUNTAIN. The psalmist continues praising God’s word, or His saying, acknowledging the rightness of God’s commandments. He expresses desire to sing about God’s saying. God’s word itself says it is to endure eternally, as expressed at Isaiah 40:8: “8 The green grass dries up, The blossom withers, But the word of our God endures forever.” How happy we can be that the Creator of this universe and mankind, one impartial and righteous, has given us reasonable lawls and commands in harmony with His way of true love, peace, freedom, and happiness. Just as birdsong is a glory to the mighty works of God, so these works of God are deserving of our admiration and praise. Hills have often been associated with places of worship. Isaiah 2:3 foretells a restoration of genuine worship in these words: “3 And many peoples will go and say: “Come, let us go up to the mountain of Jehovahz, To the house of the God of Jacob. He will instruct us about his ways, And we will walk in his paths.” For lawl will go out of Zion, And the word of Jehovahz out of Jerusalem.” Rather than the ancient city, God’s word foretold a “New Jerusalem” composed of Christians anointed to rule with Christ in God’s Kingdom, situated upon a figurative “Mount Zion,” representing a holy “mountain” of God and the governance of true worship of modern times (REVel 21:1-4; 1PEter 2:6; REVel 14:1). May we ever appreciate the revealed will of Jehovahz for true Christians, as He reminds us of His righteous orders, commands, and instructions for all having faith, or thankful trust, in Him and His Son, leading to a happy, eternal life for those forgiven, humbly seeking divine obedience—the way of eternity.

173 May your hand be ready to help me, Because I choose to obey your orders.

‘OBEY GOD AS RULER’ Titus 3:1 exhorts Christians to be “ready for every good work.” Thus, God Himself is likewise able to help His loyal servants who need His assistance. May we, like the psalmist, choose to obey God’s orders, thus aiming for true loyalty to Jehovahz. His orders are vital and/or urgent commands for Christians to keep. We should consider them essential, even when threatened to abandon them. Under such circumstances, should we not respond as the early Christians, when threatened to stop speaking about Jesus (Joshualz): “29 In answer Peter and the other apostles said: “We must obey God as ruler rather than men. 30 The God of our forefathers raised up Jesus (Joshualz), whom you killed, hanging him on a stake. 31 God exalted this one as Chief Agent and Savior to his right hand, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. 32 And we are witnesses of these matters, and so is the holy spirit, which God has given to those obeying him as ruler.” (Acts 5). Jehovahz’z hand was “ready to help” them, so can we not count on the same today? Psalm 46:1 says this: "God is our refuge and strength, A help that is readily found in times of distress."

176 I have strayed like a lost sheep. Search for your servant, For I have not forgotten your commandments.

THE GREAT SHEPHERD. Some in our time have indeed strayed from their relationship with God, perhaps lacking in aspects of divine wisdom, or lacking the faith needed to overcome weaknesses of the flesh. Some of the world is still “without God,” and may attempt to lead astray from true happiness, found in closeness to God—with godly obedience and spiritual contentment. Others were at one time closer to God, but may have somehow strayed. Many such ones remember times of great joy found in loving Him, putting His will first in life. They “have not forgotten [God’s] commandments.” Whereas many devout Christians were to evangelize, we may serve God in various ways, still honoring Him with our lips, helping others. May strayed ones look to Jehovahz in genuine truth, motivated to once again give Jehovahz their obedience, this time gaining greater wisdom to progress to a more complete loyal love for God and others, finding the true “joy of Jehovahz” that they may recall from times past, or even never quite fully experienced. God, as the Great Shepherd, with His Son, the "Fine Shepherd," is eager to assist all such ones to recover in whatever way possible. (JOHn 10:11,14). May all become faithful ones, ever determined to remain so, setting a good example for all as loyal servants of God, clinging to His orders and reminders through Christ, happily finding the best way of life, the way of true peace, freedom, happiness, and love—the way of eternity!

COMPREHEND GOD'S LOVE IN CHRIST, TREASURING GODLY VIRTUES

PREPARING FOR GOD'S NEW WORLD. 1Peter 1 describes the salvation for a group gathered to rule with "Christ", anointed with holy spirit, a limited number, which Christ's resurrection gave example of, being raised to "heavenly" life. Ones with this hope have been especially "distressed by various trials, in order that the tested quality of [their] faith, of much greater value than gold that perishes despite its being tested by fire, may be found a cause for praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ." Of course, those with hopes of an earthly Paradise also need such refining of faith, and may rejoice as well as they meet tests faithfully, with integrity to God. How the anointed followers of Christ on earth, to serve as kings and priests, rejoice at seeing such ones remain obedient to God under test! Such faithful ones may enjoy precious privileges of service to God in his coming new world, while all may certainly enjoy learning and educating others in true Christian living. There will be the final test that all will need to be prepared to face faithfully, loyally to God. May we bolster our faith now, that we may assist others to have strong faith in God wherever we may now actually be in the stream of time.

COMPREHEND LOVE OF GOD AND JESUS. 1Peter 2:1-3 exhorts all: "1 So rid yourselves of all badness and deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all backbiting. 2 As newborn infants, form a longing for the unadulterated milk of the word, so that by means of it you may grow to salvation, 3 provided you have tasted that the Lord is kind." Therefore, all should experience the kindness of God and Jesus, this loyal love for mankind, including for each person and their loved ones individually, that all may come to comprehend this love and gain such a proper heart motive personally, inclined to unselfish love, wisdom and righteousness. Any who do not have this view of both should pray for this earnestly and urgently. Thus may all grow to love the word of God and His inspiring promises, including those regarding an everlasting satisfying future, that each may learn at first the basics of true Christianity, "the unadulterated milk of the word," providing the basis for continued spiritual growth to Christian soundness, or maturity, and genuine peace and happiness.

WHOLESOME REGARD FOR JEHOVAHZ. As regards the family, while husbands are to love their wives as they do themselves, 1Peter 3 reminds godly wives to "be in subjection to your husbands, so that if any are not obedient to the word, they may be won without a word through the conduct of their wives, 2 because of having been eyewitnesses of your chaste conduct together with deep respect." Such qualities are treasured by most men, and may move some to have more love and fear of God. The true fear of God is a reverential respect for Him, fearing to displease Him in any way, refusing to hurt Him, out of love for Him and regard for His feelings. For a time the Israelites failed in this, as explained in Psalm 78:40,41: "How often they rebelled against him in the wilderness And made him feel hurt in the desert! 41 Again and again they put God to the test, And they grieved the Holy One of Israel." May we appreciate, and not take for granted, the love of our God! Romans 8:38-39 says of such love: "For I am convinced that neither death nor life nor angels nor governments nor things now here nor things to come nor powers 39 nor height nor depth nor any other creation will be able to separate us from God’s love that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

QUALITIES OF THE HEART. 1Peter 3:3-6 helps us focus on the inner person—the lovely qualities of the heart that make life worth living and make friendships far more meaningful and delightful. How much more important to be beautiful spiritually, while we may still modestly value physical beauty. Notice Peter’s inspired words:

“3 Do not let your adornment be external—the braiding of hair and the wearing of gold ornaments or fine clothing—4 but let it be the secret person of the heart in the incorruptible adornment of the quiet and mild spirit, which is of great value in the eyes of God. 5 For this is how the holy women of the past who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, subjecting themselves to their husbands, 6 just as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. And you have become her children, provided you continue doing good and do not give in to fear.”

TREASURE SPIRITUAL QUALITIES. Thus it takes courage to “continue doing good” and focusing on spiritual beauty with obedience to God. May we ever appreciate the “quiet and mild spirit” of great value in God’s eyes. Such a spirit involves humility, self-control, and mild gentleness manifested throughout each day—not just at certain times, such as when one is becoming irritated. These qualities should flow from us constantly, forming a vital foundation of the Christian new personality with faith in God and Christ. May we treasure spiritual qualities, no longer being a “physical man” oblivious to spirituality, or inner well-being and happiness. May we add loyalty and faithfulness, in harmony with true love, seeking the long-term best interests of others, including their eternal life before God.

BUILDING GENUINE TRUST IN A REAL GOD

Excerpt from article The Basics, par. 5-8.

    5. How does Hebrews 11:1 define faith, proving that true faith is not blind?

    5. FAITH, EVIDENCE. Our hope of endless life and happiness is built on our faith in God and His Son, Jesus/Joshualz Christ. Such faith is in no way "blind." It is a vicious lie that godly faith is belief in something for which there is no proof. Rather, genuine faith, according to God's word, is built on solid evidence, as explained at Hebrews 11:1. There we read that faith is defined as the "evident demonstration of realities, though not beheld." Air cannot normally be directly seen, or "beheld," but it can be felt, and it's effects can be seen, "evident" proof of its existence.

    6. What evidence is there for the existence and loving qualities of God?

    6. TWO BOOKS—CREATION AND THE BIBLE. Much evidence exists for the existence and loving qualities of God, even before looking into His word the Bible. Looking around and contemplating God’s wonderful and varied creative works makes possible abundant confidence in His tremendous wisdom, power, and love--cardinal attributes of God. However, there was an enemy, “the god of this system of things" that "blinded the minds of the unbelievers” (2Corinthians 4:4). Many are not taught to look at God’s creation in such a way or are taught lies such as the THEORY of evolution, and so acquire little faith in Him. Also, there is much that creation itself cannot reveal to us, that God Himself wants us to know. Careful consideration of the Bible reveals abundant evidence of it’s candor, reliability, beneficial instruction, it’s genuine inspiration by God Himself, all telling us much about His loving personality and ways—His deep interest in and love for His human creation. Helpful guidance, understanding of the interior person, and divine law are also revealed, which contribute to genuine peace and happiness among those acknowledgin these and adhering thereto.

    7. What illustration found in God's word helps us reason on the proof of God's creative hand in life itself?

    7. EVERY HOUSE. Adding to the evidence of God's hand in creation is a simple but powerful illustration found in God's word. What if you were walking along in a desert and as you top a hill you find on the other side a house, which you eventually could see was fully furnished. What if you also found out that the refrigerator was packed with food, along with some stored in kitchen cabinets. Perhaps you also found out that the home had a system for maintaining a comfortable temperature, via heating and air conditioning. Now, what would you think if someone told you that the house was just a product of a theory of evolution--that against incredible odds it just gradually came to be without any intelligent intervention? Would you not dismiss such a notion as extremely unrealistic? God's word uses this illustration in Hebrews 3:4 this way: "Of course, every house is constructed by someone, but the one who constructed all things is God." Now consider how the earth and everything on it has been designed. Contemplate the immense variety of foods that can be either picked ready to eat, or marvelously grown in soil, and the earth's distance from the sun, to give us an average temperature that is comfortable, along with the raw materials and science making possible heating and air conditioning systems, not to mention communication systems--such as radio, phones, televisions, and computers—and then cars, furniture, and so on. Jehovahz God is the One who so lovingly made possible every such thing for the human family, and people also receiving the gift of life, though needing God's oversight to bring His purpose to fulfillment--a paradise earth, a new world of righteousness and peace on the basis of true faith and love. Psalm 115:16 states this: "As for the heavens, to Jehovahz the heavens belong, but the earth He has provided for the sons of men."

    8. What evidence is there that God had much modern technology and human creativity in mind for man’s future?

    8. TECHNOLOGY! It should be abundantly clear that God made the earth with much modern scientific technology in mind. Why can this be said? Take computers, for example. It would not be possible to have these portable machines if GOD did not create the elements, whether metals or semiconductors, like the silicon in sand, with certain capabilities and properties to allow computer chips and other components to be made. God made all of this possible by the materials and their properties in earth's available bounty. How loving and wise is our Creator Jehovahz, so evident in the incredible way He made us and had in mind human creativity and our eternal happiness. "O the depth of God's riches and wisdom and knowledge! How unsearchable his judgments are and beyond tracing out his ways are! 34 For "who has come to know Jehovahz's mind, or who has become his advisor?...Because from him and by him and for him are all things..." (Romans 11:33-36). * May we not fail to appreciate God’s gifts and His incredible or wondrous wisdom for us to look to Him through His Son for the guidance needed for a truly peaceful world, which God’s Son above has been guiding us to for decades, and which in no way should be abandoned to some ideas contrary to the U.S. Constitution and God’s word itself!

  • (010-5.2) Appreciate Bible Truth and Grow

    CHRISTIAN SMALL LETTER HIGHLIGHTS

APPRECIATING BIBLE TRUTH, REPENTING, GROWING SPIRITUALLY

RECEIVE ACCURATE KNOWLEDGE. 2Peter 1:2-4 highlights "accurate knowledge," reminding us of the true unity that is possible if we humbly accept God's instruction and apply it in our personal lives. Peter is likely writing primarily to those with heavenly hopes, to share in "divine nature," but these words can encourage all to treasure devotion to God in a close, personal relationship with Him, as we grow in the accurate knowledge of God and His purpose involving Christ, to find peace in our lives by God's undeserved kindness, with precious promises of eternal life. These verses read: "2 May undeserved kindness and peace be increased to you by an accurate knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3 for his divine power has granted us all the things that contribute to life and godly devotion through the accurate knowledge of the One who called us by his own glory and virtue. 4 Through these things he has granted us the precious and very grand promises, so that through these you may become sharers in divine nature, having escaped from the world’s corruption produced by wrong desire." God's word instructs, at Galatians 5:16: "Keep walking by spirit and you will carry out no ungodly desire at all." May we turn away wrong desires, satisfying our right desires in harmony with God's love and reasonableness, as He can help us find all we need in life to be truly content and happy, including true friends and for most, a loyal marriage partner, with an understanding of right standards to live by, peaceably with others. May we always treasure God's loyal love toward us by seeking to ever please Him, walking with Him toward eternal life, alongside others, as God "does not desire anyone to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance." (2PEter 3:9).

GROWTH IN SPIRIT. 2Peter 1:5-8 contains crucial steps to spiritual development. Let’s remark as we go through each one. The foundation is our faith, or thankful trust, primarily in Jehovahz God, and His Son Jehoshua (Joshua) [Jesus' more accurate given name, and original designation in English], God’s word, and this one's ransom sacrifice. Having such, we would come to trust also in God's Kingdom to truly solve mankind's problems. Built on faith, other attributes are needed. The verses read as follows: “5 For this very reason, put forth all earnest effort to supply to your faith virtue (godly attributes such as purity of heart, and true hope), to your virtue knowledge (including knowledge of God’s law through Christ), 6 to your knowledge self-control (needed to obey God’s law), to your self-control endurance (to obey over time through trials), to your endurance godly devotion (close attachment to Jehovahz personally), 7 to your godly devotion brotherly affection (pure friendship with other God-fearing persons), to your brotherly affection love (unselfishness looking for best interests of all, in harmony with godly wisdom). 8 For if these things exist in you and overflow, they will prevent you from being either inactive or unfruitful regarding the accurate knowledge of our Lord Joshualz Christ.”

EYES OPEN TO TRUTH FROM GOD. 2Peter 1:9-11 refers to not shutting our eyes to the light, so that we do not lack the qualities mentioned in the previous verses, such as divine knowledge, self-control, and godly devotion. If we close our eyes to the light of Scriptural truth, we can be truly blind, not able to see dangers right in front of us. These verses read as follows: “9 For anyone lacking these things is blind, shutting his eyes to the light, and has become forgetful of his cleansing from his sins of long ago. 10 Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to make your calling and choosing sure for yourselves, for if you keep on doing these things, you will by no means ever fail. 11 In fact, in this way you will be richly granted entrance into the everlasting Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Joshualz Christ.” As we learn to serve God properly, may we likewise encourage others to do so, assisting them, including our precious children, according to their ability, to make spiritual progress. Thus we will be reminded of the steps we took to grow spiritually, and that we should not forget or take for granted, but maintain our firm hold on our hope and faith in God and Jesus.

MOTIVATION TO REPENTANCE. Peter's words read this way: "Beloved ones, this is now the second letter I am writing you in which, as in my first one, I am stirring up your clear thinking faculties by way of a reminder, 2 that you should remember the sayings previously spoken by the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles. 3 First of all know this, that in the last days ridiculers will come with their ridicule, proceeding according to their own desires 4 and saying: “Where is this promised presence of his? Why, from the day our forefathers fell asleep in death, all things are continuing exactly as they were from creation’s beginning.” Peter goes on to remind Christians that such ones "deliberately ignore this fact, that long ago there were heavens and an earth standing firmly out of water and in the midst of water by the word of God; 6 and that by those means the world of that time suffered destruction when it was flooded with water." Therefore, just as God judged an evil, violent world in Noah's day, so He has looked to remove evil in our day, for the happiness of all who will love real peace and joy. (PROve 2:20-22). May ones yet unaware of God's wisdom repent of any such thoughts and activity, being remorseful over any disappointing and harmful conduct, that God may bless their sincere repentance, and help them find true happiness in life, perhaps even with a loyal marriage partner to share life with in the coming new world. May as many as possible appreciate God's mercy and love for his human family, and respond accordingly, seeking to please our loving God by careful obedience and adherence to His wise and loving standards.

The Right Water--Not Simply H2O--is Life-Promoting

Water with balanced minerals, such as Spring Water, replenishes lost electrolytes, and including good well water, is best for drinking when tested for purity. Be cautious, however, of “Purified” waters, which have often been over-filtered containing very few life-promoting minerals. When corrected, water bottlers should adjust their labels accordingly. Radiation treatment is the likely reason minerals have been removed (to save lives), but replacement therapies are negating this concern. Even more concerning, regular “Distilled” water robs of minerals and is for specialty use, like cleaning. The one exception is distilled Artesian water, which becomes like Spring water. Artesian waters (which sometimes naturally filter through volcanic layers) are mineralized and often healing, but strongly alkalizing to drink, only occasionally, but for bathing freely. Finally, regular “Distilled” water can be made drinkable by adding 1/16-1/8 Artesian water by volume and 3-10 drops per gallon of concentrated sea water/trace mineral solution, available in health stores, etc.

As regards the spirit, water is also associated with life, hope, and refreshment. As water enters the soil, seeds can hope to sprout, and so waters of truth and life inspire hope and belief in the Son and God the Giver “of every good and perfect gift”, the right waters leading to substantial food, and an active faith and righteousness, walking uprightly to eternal life. (James 1:17; 1Corinthians 3:7; John 4:14)

    PROVERBS A CH 1-10

    Proverbs 6:20-23:

"20 Observe, my son, the commandment of your father, And do not forsake the instruction of your mother. 21 Always bind them around your heart; Tie them about your neck. 22 When you walk about, it will lead you; When you lie down, it will stand guard over you; And when you awaken, it will speak to you. 23 For the commandment is a lamp, And the law is a light, And the reproofs of discipline are the way to life."

Prove06:20 One of the Ten Commandments written on Stone Tablets, in some ways outstanding from the remaining Lawl of God, includes one that applies to the relationship between child and parents. (COLos 2:14). It is the fifth commandment, at Exodus 20:12: "Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live a long time in the land that Jehovahz your God is giving you." The apostle Paul also quotes this command at Ephesians 6:2, calling it "the first command with a promise". The very first proverb of chapter 10 says "A wise son makes his father rejoice, but a foolish son is the grief of his mother." What understanding child wants to bring grief to his own mother? Should the child prefer to become wise, or foolish? Growing in wisdom brings delight to a good father, or parent. Thus the counsel to listen to their instruction! This can be life-saving to a child! There are many dangers in life, especially to an inexperienced child, needing guidance and correction from loving parents! May every child learn to appreciate the instruction coming from parents who love him or her.

"21 Always bind them around your heart; Tie them about your neck. 22 When you walk about, it will lead you; When you lie down, it will stand guard over you; And when you awaken, it will speak to you."

Prove06:21-22 Binding the commandments and instruction from parents around your heart means they affect your very heartfelt thoughts and actions. Tied around your neck means these affect the words coming through your throat, your very speech. "Out of the heart's abundance his mouth speaks." (LUKe 6:45). The law/lawl of God found in God's word and explained by good ministers and parents will guide a youth in the right way, will stand guard over him--offering protection from much danger, and, being ultimately from God, will speak to that one's heart and mind in line with truth.

"23 For the commandment is a lamp, And the law is a light, And the reproofs of discipline are the way to life."

Prove06:23 Each commandment sheds light on a given situation, the entire law being a light that shines on our entire life, and shines ahead upon the path of life, helping us see what's coming, and the rewards of keeping the law, and may also enlighten us as to the problems, troubles, grief and pain of violating God's word and law. The reproofs, or strong corrections, of discipline are the way to life. The more we each consider God's word and listen to His instruction, the more we can discipline ourselves, and hopefully lessen the correction we need from others. Still, how we all need God's loving discipline in life, to help us stay on the path leading to endless life in true happiness, seeking ever to remain on it, being an example and encouragement to our loved ones, friends, and neighbors to maintain their hope and happiness. The Articles of Confederation were also an inspired set of laws to help the various States act more wisely, remaining blessed by God and somewhat united, although work on the U.S. Constitution was needed to aid greater understanding of those Articles and bring more unity among the States with a balanced Federal government. Those inspired documents are blessed by God and helped found many good laws and regulations agreeable with God’s own laws and Christian truths, which enable genuine peace in society, making possible a global paradise.

  • 010-6.2) Proverbs 6:23-29

    PROVERBS A CH 1-10

    Proverbs 6:23-29:

"23 For the commandment is a lamp, And the lawl is a light, And the reproofs of discipline are the way to life. 24 They will guard you against the bad woman, Against the seductive tongue of the immoral woman. 25 Do not desire her beauty in your heart Or allow her to captivate you with her alluring eyes, 26 For because of a prostitute, a man is reduced to a loaf of bread, But the wife of another man preys on a precious life. 27 Can a man rake fire to his chest and not burn his garments? 28 Or can a man walk on hot coals without scorching his feet? 29 It is the same with anyone having relations with his neighbor’s wife; No one who touches her will go unpunished."

Pro06:23 God's specific commands brighten and help to guide each step, while his law lightens our path, or the road ahead. The "reproofs of discipline", "reproof" referring to strong but loving counsel or correction, are said to be "the way to life." May we strive hard not to pridefully refuse such counsel when given, especially when we know we need it. Or we may need to strive harder to fight any egopride when we don't think we need it! Often we really do but don't think we do! Of course, it is good to speak honestly about the matter where appropriate! Regardless, it usually requires great love for a parent or someone else to approach us with such reproof--they may have prayed to the Father for the wisdom to do so properly. Let's aim to be thankful for such counsel, even if we have a hard time swallowing it, and even if we are not sure if we deserved it. Perhaps it would be best to soon after pray about the matter ourselves, searching our heart for how best to apply what we've heard or received. Remember, that "those whom Jehovahz loves he disciplines, in fact, he scourges everyone whom he receives as a son.” Therefore, 1Peter 5:5-7 says "But all of you clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God opposes the haughty ones, but he gives undeserved kindness to the humble ones. 6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that he may exalt you in due time, 7 while you throw all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you."

"24 They will guard you against the bad woman, Against the seductive tongue of the immoral woman. 25 Do not desire her beauty in your heart Or allow her to captivate you with her alluring eyes,"

Pro06:24-25 These "reproofs of discipline," along with God's lawls and commands, will guard one against the "seductive tongue" of an immoral woman, and with appropriate warnings should move us to steer far away from desiring her beauty in our heart. We should reserve such desire for the spiritual and physical beauty of the wife that God can allow us to find, being captivated by her eyes, and no one else's. Thus disregarding the bond of marriage, God’s family arrangement, causes many problems in society, and much heartache. Recall that the punishment for immorality in the Mosaic Lawl provided by God was severe, possibly bringing strong repercussions, or consequences. Even when applied in a Christian way, this was to teach mankind the seriousness of the offense, that the effects spiritually and perhaps physically are significantly detrimental, promoting disloyalty to God and others, and toward the bond or covenant of marriage, which we should rather want to treasure and appreciate for an eternity!

"26 For because of a prostitute, a man is reduced to a loaf of bread, But the wife of another man preys on a precious life."

Pro06:26 What are some of the consequences of being seduced by an immoral woman, be she a prostitute or the wife of another man? Regarding the prostitute, the verse says the man is "reduced to a loaf of bread." Clearly, any material wealth is squandered, over time, as she may be inclined to entice him to give up what he has. Both the man and the woman are shown willing to violate God's standards to get what they want, not prizing a life of honest integrity. Thus they are not having God's approval, blessing, or prosperity by Him. If the woman is the wife of another man, she "preys on a precious life," as the violation of adultery is a serious violation of trust and loyalty, that threatens the very life, spiritually and physically, of those involved. These days, however, we must keep in mind that God can completely understand the motives and circumstances. If repentance is shown, it is up to the wronged mate to decide whether to forgive the erring one, and work to restore trust in the relationship. Willfully choosing to continue sexual intercourse with the erring one is evidence that such forgiveness has been extended. If there are problems in the marriage to begin with, rather than violating any of God's standards, can we not promptly beseech the Father, the Originator of the Marriage Arrangement, for His assistance?

"27 Can a man rake fire to his chest and not burn his garments? 28 Or can a man walk on hot coals without scorching his feet? 29 It is the same with anyone having relations with his neighbor’s wife; No one who touches her will go unpunished."

Pro06:27-29 We must realize and look for the consequences of our behavior before doing something or making some decision that may be important. This is shown by the illustration of raking fire to one's chest. There are consequences. Will not one's garments get burned? Such is an apt illustration regarding immorality, as such an act will sully spiritual garments--our Christian identification and many Christlike qualities can be seriously damaged, leaving off vital faith or trust in God and faithfulness to Him and others. Also, if you would walk on hot coals, would there not be an effect? Would it not scorch your feet? We should never undervalue the spiritual implications of our behavior, just because we may not yet understand all of the effects. God's loving warning should be enough until we do. It is an aspect of divine wisdom, foresighted shrewdness that involves seeing the consequences of our actions and decisions, so as to hate and avoid the wrong path. Proverbs 22:3 accordingly cautions: "The shrewd one sees the danger and conceals himself, But the naive keep right on going and suffer the consequences." Good and loving instruction based on God's word of truth can enlighten such ones, helping them to develop the shrewdness with foresightedness to look ahead and avoid unwise choices or actions that would otherwise result in undesirable consequences. The answers truly lie within God's word and lawl, not without or outside of it!

I've worked on another article of interest which I aim to post/update before 10am or so. Also, some are familiar with my God's View of Celebrations article under the Misc. Heading, which I haven't updated for some time but helps with understanding God's balanced view of holidays, and that we should seek His view of matters. George Washington instituted Thanksgiving, which even has a correlation in God's word to a Harvest Festival required of God's people to commemorate each year! God certainly wants us to be thankful, at one time there was more confusion regarding the caution Jesus gave about a "world" (Greek "cosmos"), which had to do with a corrupt version of worship, essentially the "Babylon the Great" of Revelation. It is acceptable to God for us to have chosen important days to be holidays, we just need to respect His view of matters. I aim to review that Celebrations article sometime in the near future, and post an update. POSTED the First Portion of the Persistent Article (PA) GA, " 1A) Sum More Orderly Time (8-Day Calendar) " ! So to avoid driving under the influence means that IF alcohol is consumed, then it should still not be strong enough when driving begins to be substantially influencing your driving actions, reactions, etc. Largely, and in terms of law, the BAC (Blood Alcohol Concentration) limit is the determining factor, and this can be fairly accounted for by considering beverages consumed and time spent following their consumption.) ADDED , to (1A) Golden Apples, How the Kingdom of God Relates to the (Proper) U.S. (Democratic) Constitutional Republic NOTE on (y.A16,oB09Sun): Asking for continued prayers for God's continued blessing on our seeking His will, on humbly acknowledging His hand on having made our nation great in the past, with His blessing on the Founders and Spirit-inspired documents, together comprising another holy book or collection, founding our government as it should be, although we've needed His help to apply it properly and see the God-blessed results with better unity, harmony, and cooperation, some of which was in evidence or growing for a time last year, 2024. Some wondered if our entire form of government needed to be thrown out, but this was not the case--God's blessing is not upon such an effort, and it actually threatens our Having His blessing on our nation to be His means of blessing all others! Our history reveals the progress toward peace that was in evidence over many decades, and God's blessing through His Kingdom on our efforts to respect the Democratic Constitutional Republic that the Founders established as our true God-blessed government, that can again become still more cooperative and effective in seeking the good of our people and humanity. It can take great and cooperative effort to make things right sometimes when it's necessary. Nevertheless, with God's help, we can still "Restore Good, and Move Forward"! Real effort to make things right, His way, will be blessed by Him and help get us back on track, or keep us on track for restored peace, the kind of peace former President Ronald Reagan and others did much to help move us toward by the hand of God or His Son above, Jesus Christ. We have been close to having this peace, and greater, worldwide, and many by God's spirit have been working together with me toward this, really all cooperating with God's will for a truly peaceful world! Still, may prayers continue that the true President of the United States, the true winner of the 2024 Presidential election, which was not Donald Trump, can become known as such, being blessed by God to be or become as this one should be and still can be, with at least gradual acknowledgement of the truth as it becomes more known or clear to the many truthlovers and supporters in our nation, our public, the world, our government, our news media, and so on. NOTE : As you may realize, I've continued this blogset based on the 400-day calendar (the true one, astronomically, meteorologically, scientifically, etc.), and hopefully which we will acknowledge here, as many localities and regions here in the United States were doing for much time last year! There was some confusion about the reality of this or the connections to my Come to Consensus article, referring to it as the 8-Day Calendar, having God's blessing on new sets of month- and daynames that carry real meaning into our lives, benefitting us more, and underscoring God's interest and love for us. I'm looking to post a few more articles, some Persistent Articles, which I think will replace the Persistent/Introductory Posts designation. Thus PA's will usually be articles that may benefit more people, or benefit people more, in some way, with God's blessing. The full 8-Day Calendar article, as a CTC article, is one I actually thought was posted already this blog cycle, but I wish to post soon today, although it is available on the last blog 3C/8C. I want to review before posting on 4C/8C, blogpost 3 (the C in 4C/8C). I may change referring to blogpost 3 to blogpost C. I may also update the wording of the Educational Note on blogpost 3/C. Update, but article still coming. Article is there, under PA's (Persistent Articles) on blogpost 3/C, as (8-2). There are still other articles I wish to include in the next few days...I've updated that article, month 1, and more updates are possible. (d.626Mnd, 709Wed 8:45-46 am EDT) Hello, wishing all well! Added (3) Proverbs A, chapter 5, verses 1-6, PR-A(5.1). (d.625Rih, 708Tue 6:17,38 am EDT) Hello, wishing all well! Added (4B) Psalm 119 Stanza 12-14 Preview, and Stanza 12 Commentary. Update, format, etc. Update, v.91. (d.623Psm, 706Sun 8:08,35; 9:03,08,46,58 am EDT) Hello, wishing all well! Added to (8B) WGA-B, GA(403), adding to. Added. Update. Formatting, clarity on (8B) location. (d.621Hvn, f704Fri 10:58-59 am; 8:18,28,36; 9:05 pm EDT) Hello, wishing all well and a happy sorta 4th! I've completed the text of the podcast Winit500 theme of last November, w0840-44 U.S. Election for President, 2024. It is in the list under (1B) the Win-it Minute Series work., podcast available on Spotify, elsewhere. Also, don't forget about the Significantly Revised article, What It Means To Be Righteous or Upright, on the Top Menu above. Let's continue to look to God and Christ above, as we navigate current circumstances--there is much we can accomplish together when we look above and stand for what's true and right, and what the Founders of our Nation stood for, the same, and looking for God's blessing for things to be as they should. Let's not assume that just because someone may want us to believe a lie, that we just need to go along with it--that's not who we are! Americans across our nation voted, elected me President of the United States, for good reason, and I'm the one blessed by God to be so, doing what I can despite our circumstances--recall that Donald Trump acknowledged at one point that he was not the President of the United States, but seems to have managed to sweep that under the carpet somehow. Nevertheless we want the best for all, recognizing God's love for all, but we also want our Nation truly as it Should Be, and as GOD will blessing it to Become! ALSO POSTED (7) Proverbs B Commentary, chapter 11 conclusion, verses 27-31! (d.620Wdn, f703Thu 8:03 am; 9:38,55,58; 10:50 pm EDT) Hello, wishing all well! Posted (1B) Winit500, text of Episode 2, w0841 U.S. Election for President, 2024. W5a w0840- under Win-it Minute Series below. NOW also the REVISED ARTICLE, What It Means To Be Righteous or Upright. Titles. Some correction. (d.619Too, f702Wed 9:59 am EDT) Hello, wishing all well! Posted (3) Proverbs A, chapter 4, verses 24-27, concluding chapter 4. (d.618Moo, f701Tue 7:08-09,15,31,44,48,58; 8:03 am; 7:17,59 pm EDT) Hello, wishing all well! Got the Podcast Episode 1 Text posted from yesterday, on the W5a w0840-44 U.S. Election for President 2024, listed under the (1B) Win-it Minute Series, explaining how Donald was attempting to defraud the public by claiming victory in the Presidential election, covering the TRUE results of the election by America. Later, however, as addressed in a later podcast, and after still staging an inauguration, he was willing at one point to be honest with the American people and admit that he was "not the President of the United States", as many who voted for me (and Washington, etc.) hopefully are coming to realize. I've also posted the 2025 Claim to Presidency text in the main body of Winit5to9 Posts, with the more recent Harvard and Issue of Government posts to follow sometime. Formatting, text accuracy. Now also, posted (7) Proverbs B, PR-B(11.5) chapter 11, verses 22-26. Formatting. (d.617Son, f630Mon 5:33-34; 8:56,58; 9:53; 10:22,36,48 am EDT) Hello, wishing all well! I've moved last year's podcast from after the 2024 November election to the top of my Find Life And See Podcast on Spotify, W5a w0840-44 U.S. Election for President 2024. I have a place for the text of this podcast below, which I intend to begin posting today. NOW please consider carefully (when you are able) the PIP article below, Names of God and Christ, Clarified, for a carefully composed revision! You may also see the Note from yesterday, just below, regarding God's Name. Updates. (d.616Fan, f629Sun 10:16,18,34 pm EDT) Hello, wishing all well! As I've occasionally referred to, there has been interference by some, trying to corrupt good work or rob me of much of my own work, whether claiming my own website articles or my podcast work, ideas/designs/patents, etc., and especially even my rightful win as President of the United States, after already being the true 46th President of the United States, fully expecting this time to finally make it to the White House, where I can be and do fully what the American people have looked forward and expect me to be and do. Another thing has come to my attention--my work on restoring God's true name. At one point I was clarifying God's name to be JEHOVAHZ, not Jehovalz. Someone with power attempted to take credit for this, and try to cause confusion about JEHOVALZ, which is now understood to be one of the three GODs that make up the Complete JEHOVAHZ. While knowing Him as a GOD of Vows/Valz, altogether He brings things about, especially His will, in many ways, not only by the keeping of Promises. I'll be updating the website accordingly, and the NAMES of God and Christ article, to again reflect this position. I've already updated the recently posted (4B) Psalm 119 Review 4 Stanzas 01-11 to reflect this change. Also now the most recent (3) Proverbs A, PR-A(4.5). Also (7) Proverbs B, PR-B(11.4) Correction.
