Oct 31 Proverbs 31, Psalms 72, Titus 3

Welcome to all. Let's continue in Proverbs, with an initial look at the godly woman, or "capable wife" of Proverbs 31. We'll consider Prov 31:10-15.
"10 Who can find a capable wife? Her value is far more than that of corals. ב [Beth] 11 Her husband trusts her from his heart, And he lacks nothing of value. ג [Gimel] 12 She rewards him with good, not bad, All the days of her life. ד [Daleth] 13 She obtains wool and linen; She delights to work with her hands. ה [He] 14 She is like the ships of a merchant, Bringing her food in from afar. ו [Waw] 15 She also rises while it is still night, Providing food for her household And portions for her female servants."

Prov 31:10 Notice the value of such a wife cannot be compared to any material possession, "far more" than corals, which were highly prized at that time, or far more than a genuine blue diamond today, on one of the most expensive rings ever sold in recent times.
Prov 31:11 She proves herself to be trustworthy, a loyal servant of God, and her husband trusts her completely, from his heart. He is not suspicious, or jealous, but rather loves her deeply and knows she feels the same.
Prov 31:12 What a beautiful relationship they have, as she is moved by love to reward her husband each day with her goodness.
Prov 31:13 She is industrious, finding delight in using her hands to make useful garments or other home items of cloth.
Prov 31:14 She finds nutritious food for her household with a keen eye, purchasing such even from distant lands. She may even receive spiritually edifying "food" from afar, to be shared in instructing her household in wisdom.
Prov 31:15 Looking after the needs of her household, she rises early to see to the needs of even her female servants.
What a lovely, God-fearing woman! The verses continue--may all appreciate the value of godly women today, as we see that God highly values such women.

Psal 72 (Book 2, 31st psalm) contains blessings of the rulership of God's Kingdom. God's chosen king will rule with God's righteousness, humbly relying on God's direction and looking for His blessing. Thus, even the "mountains" and "hills" will bring peace and righteousness to the people, referring to various governmental and (true) religious institutions among humanity. Even the lowly and the poor will be defended and saved, and defrauders crushed. That this is an earthwide rulership is indicated by Psal 72:8, saying that God's appointed ruler "will have subjects from sea to sea and from the River (Euphrates) to the ends of the earth." Again, regarding the lowly and poor, Psal 72:12-14 shows they will be rescued, their lives will be saved, "from oppression and from violence he will rescue them, and their blood will be precious in his eyes." This is all to the glory of God, as Psal 72:18,19 declare: "May Jehovah God be praised, Israel's God, Who alone does wonderful things. May his glorious name be praised forever, and may his glory fill the whole earth."

In Titus, let's look at Titu 3:1,2: "1 Continue reminding them to be in subjection and to be obedient to governments and authorities, to be ready for every good work, 2 to speak injuriously of no one, not to be quarrelsome, but to be reasonable, displaying all mildness toward all men." Being reasonable here means "yielding," such as being willing to compromise in a disagreement. Mildness involves a gentleness, with a sensitivity to the feelings of others. Thus it is shown throughout the day, not only practiced when a temper begins to flare, or anger begins to rise.
