WEEKLY GOLDEN APPLES
Here is something that may be added to well-prepared mayonnaise, such as Kraft and a Dollar Store brand called Mrs. Clark's, to enliven it:
To each 1/2 cup mayo, add the following 1 teaspoon of each:
- Ground Turmeric spice
- Ground Paprika
- Garlic powder
- Ground Celery Seed
- Crushed Red Pepper

BECOME HOLY YOURSELVES!
The other night I was working late in the kitchen, and I was about to use the spice cinnamon, having recently become aware of its oxygen-promoting capacity. I had long been aware of its use as a blood sugar stabilizer, and recall as a young lad using it generously on morning toast with sugar and butter for a delicious (and, I believe, more nutritious than many realize:) start to my day! It was still night, but nearing the time I was planning to arise, early morning, to spend some private time in study and such. What was about to transpire was quite awesome and a source of great satisfaction from the spirit of God, evidence of His loving provisions for the human family He holds dear, but at the same time typical of events taking place in my life in recent months, as we grew ever near the time for God's Kingdom to begin to manifest itself to mankind! May many see evidence of the power of Jehovah's holy spirit, as I relate what took place generally. As I was reflecting upon the cinnamon I needed, somehow the situation of Flint, Michigan came to mind, having recently considered a few things that could help their situation to some extent, including the use of Pine Sol to clean sinks, which allows this pure and natural cleanser to assist detoxifying germs from the water supply. Yet, I was believing that more was needed, not really having yet studied carefully every issue they were having, although wanting to somehow be of assistance. I began to consider the possibility that the attention I was giving to cinnamon and the remembrance of Flint was no coincidence in my case, realizing the important role I truly believe God has been preparing me for in life, even having qualified as a candidate for the Presidency of the United States. I began to consider how cinnamon might actually be involved in Flint's circumstances. Thinking of cinnamon's oxygen or oxidizing power, I imagined a potential explosion within the water system that could take place, even in a public water system. I was taken aback, and began to consider how this might come about...
Using what I knew about water systems from my own experience
and research, I first began thinking of what kind of piping may be
involved there. While clearly a long-shot, I became fairly convinced of the
spirit's influence as I compared cinnamon's color to that of rust--could they
largely have iron piping, that could be deteriorating internally from the water
I thought was being received from the neighboring town? Could there be some
molecular similarity, as evidenced perhaps somehow (unusually) by the similar
color, to enable some sort of reaction? Then I was moved to consider whether
something could be wrong with the cinnamon, to allow this frightful
circumstance, since normally a natural spice would RARELY cause such a
devastating potential! What of the processing of cinnamon? At this point I
recalled the process of homogenization of dairy milk. While the intention of
this process might be understood--to allow the cream in the milk to be
dispersed throughout rather than separating and rising to the top, I recalled
that I had found out quite some time ago that this process basically
centrifuged milk, spinning it so hard and fast that the resulting molecules
could actually scar the walls of the arteries within us--certainly an unnatural
condition God never would have intended. Could something similar be happening
with cinnamon--what if cinnamon was truly processed in a similar way, rather
than simply "ground" into a powder? I knew enough of food processing
to feel assured of this as a very real possibility, although I hadn't yet
watched that episode of "How It's Made"! Therefore, could an
unnatural, fractured molecule of cinnamon, with power to oxidize, somehow react
with the iron metal, with rushing water having electrically conductive minerals
within, contribute to this problem?
Don't get me wrong--I feel much more secure dealing with known facts than with
possibilities, yet having done much research, I am comfortable with the notion
of exploring these to ascertain what is really true and what isn't.
I went into this detail to give you an idea of how Jehovah and His spirit has been upon me to investigate matters, out of love, appreciating truth that is used aright, with proper motive, to 'rescue the righteous.' The Bible book of Proverbs, at 11:6, says this: " The righteousness of the upright will rescue them, But the treacherous will be caught by their own desires. " To gain and maintain God's approval and blessing, we need to love His divine standards of right, loving Jehovah as He has loved us first, step by step bringing our lives into harmony with His will. I have felt a special obligation to aim to honestly say as Jesus stated at John 8:29, "And the One who sent me is with me; he did not abandon me to myself, because I always do the things pleasing to him."
A few more steps took place that night--adding the electrical factor of having two dissimilar metals converging together, likely the most common circumstance being the iron piping coming into connection with a common home water piping system of copper. This can actually create an electrical potential, enabling the whole problem condition to exist. I considered that in (new) home piping connections, it may be that some sort of stone or concrete separator may work well to separate the two dissimilar metals, eliminating the problem condition.
SOLUTIONS. Of course, I wondered about where GOOD cinnamon could be found, and whether introducing this cinnamon into the system could actually bind with the fractured molecules to help alleviate the hazardous potential. I recently was using Quaker Oats oatmeal, as a three-flavor box, with two of the flavors having cinnamon included. I felt strongly that, being Jehovah's direction in the matter, Quaker would be happy to at least make known to Flint the source of their cinnamon, after ensuring it to be a truly safe source--this could serve additionally as a germicide. Also something else learned in recent weeks is the importance of an organic biome in the body, for instance, the stomach, which serves to protect the stomach lining from acid, harmful toxins, and other digestive "intruders." This "biome" is a combination of a good fungus that is found in oatmeal (when not overcooked), like Quaker Oats, along with a source of select beneficial bacteria, such as those actually found in the canned juice of Tuna and Salmon. It may be that Salmon juice actually contains both--the fungus and the bacteria, making it a good choice for entering the system in order to permeate the entire water piping system of a home or business. This protective layer that can come to coat the inside of piping (in this case water piping) serves to prevent unwanted interactions between molecules within the water and the walls of the conduit material. Those with copper piping in their home are at risk of schizophrenia--could there be evidence of this in Flint or the neighboring city? It is largely the salt in the system that has eaten away at any mineral scale buildup on the inside of the pipe. When my parents built their dream home years ago, they opted not to "soften" the water with a salt conditioner, and we had considerable minerals in the water, showing up at bathtub drains, etc. requiring such things as vinegar to clean or dissolve. These largely calcium deposits over time formed a layer on the inside of the copper water pipe. In such a case, schizophrenia would be unlikely. However, upon installation of a salt water conditioner years later did initially soften the water quite well, even as the salt reacted with the calcium/mineral deposits. However, too much salt may have prevented any protective biome from remaining, and ate away at the calcium deposits. At this point, the (acidic) salt began to react with the copper piping, creating COPPER-SALTS that even my daily showers caused me to absorb. Some time later, I began to discern I wasn't feeling quite right, and wondered about the water. Research revealed the above-mentioned copper-salts, revealing that these can accumulate in the brain and cause schizophrenia! These copper-salts, I found, have a half-life in the body of 18 days, meaning it typically takes *18 DAYS* for half the amount received in that one shower to leave the body! With copper piping, if you no longer have the white scale buildup at the bathtub drain, it may be time to call your local water system provider and discuss a replacement to the salt conditioner--as well as other water treatment options! There is a company with several patents on home water filtration systems that endeavor to retain the minerals in the water after all treatments are applied, unlike such things as reverse-osmosis and distillation. They even offer UV filtration against germs. Once I ascertain that this company can fairly handle the workload, I may reveal the name. Other knock-offs of my genuine website (not speaking of respectfully translated sites who in good conscience have made fairly regular attempts to contact me for approval) would prove themselves as lacking all respect or consideration for the things Jehovah and myself lovingly provide if they rush to reveal this before I do, and I would respectfully request of this company that they refuse advertising contracts with these other individuals, or it may never be revealed here openly.

PSALM 119 REVIEW 7
STANZA 1, Verses 1-8: HAPPINESS IS FOUND IN OBEDIENCE TO GOD.
TRUE HAPPINESS FOUND. Happiness depends on obedience to God's law, but only by exercising faith, or deep trust, in God, His word and His son, and the ransom provision for forgiveness of sins, with repentance. We must recall that Abraham's faith was "counted to him as righteousness," so we can develop a right standing with God, even while we have much to learn of God's right standards, endeavoring to keep them.
A few misunderstood terms found in verses 1-7 include these:
Verse 4 speaks of God's ORDERS to be "carefully kept." Recall Psalm 19:8 says "The ORDERS from Jehovah are righteous, causing the heart to rejoice." Clearly a command to do or avoid something, evidently with even more urgency or zeal than a command or commandment.
Verse 5 mentions observing God's REGULATIONS. These are defined as authoritative detailed rules or procedures, given to regulate or control an organization or system. It is most likely that when used in the plural in God's word, this may be translated as "INSTRUCTIONS," a much more familiar term.
Verse 7 mentions God's righteous JUDGMENTS. These are evaluations formed by discerning and comparing or contrasting. His evaluations and decisions should be respected and appreciated, and often much can be learned from them. They are "true, altogether righteous." (Psalm 19:9).
A REASONABLE LAW. Also key to the first stanza is that it is possible and reasonable to keep God's laws and standards. The first 4 verses thus read as follows: "Happy are those who are blameless in their way, Who walk in the law of Jehovah. 2 Happy are those who observe his reminders, Who search for him with all their heart. 3 They practice no unrighteousness; They walk in his ways. 4 You have commanded That your orders be carefully kept."
STANZA 2, Verses 9-16: BY GOD'S WORD A YOUTH CAN REMAIN MORALLY CLEAN OR PURE.
Verse 9 "How can a young man keep his path clean? BY keeping on guard according to your word.”
KEEPING ON GUARD. (9) Young children are often safeguarded by parents and other responsible ones from much of the spiritual filth or contamination that degrades the morality and spirituality of foolish and naive ones lacking the understanding and shrewdness or prudence to realize the danger of such things. Proverbs 22:3 says: "The shrewd one sees the danger and conceals himself, But the inexperienced keep right on going and suffer the consequences." As these precious children grow, they should be helped to gain enough prudence to be aware and cautious of spiritual pitfalls that are common in these "critical times hard to deal with." (2Timo 3:1). While loving people, they will still need to guard their associations from "bad company" that "corrupts good character." (1Cori 15:33, NIV; 2Timo 3:2-5). Thus, how can a young man keep his path clean? The answer is expressed this way in AMP: "By taking heed and keeping watch [on himself] according to Your word [conforming his life to it]." God's word, including the book of Proverbs, contains much divine instruction that can assist all to protect their spirit from ruin. May we treasure Christian teachings and guidance toward God's reward of eternal life, peace, and happiness!
Verse 11 "In my heart I treasure up your saying, so that I may not sin against you."
TREASURE GOD'S SAYINGS. (11) Jesus said, at Matthew 7:24, "“Therefore, everyone who hears these sayings of mine and does them will be like a discreet man who built his house on the rock." In God's word are found many motivating expressions helping us remain faithful to God, as we ponder them, endeavoring to see how to live by them each day. These sayings need to affect, not only our speech, but also our actions. It is not enough simply to know God's standards, we need to develop heart appreciation for them, perhaps with shrewdness to see the blessings and rewards of choosing the right course, and some of the problems and troubles caused by choosing poorly. Thus we can more readily "hate what is bad" and choose a good path. (Psalm 97:10; Prove 2:20-22).
STANZA 3, Verses 17-24: FONDNESS FOR GOD'S WORD VITAL FOR FAITHFULNESS.
Verse 18 "Open my eyes so that I may see clearly The wonderful things from your law."
SEE WONDERFUL, VALUABLE THINGS. (18) The psalmist recognizes that a person can be blind to the beautiful truths of God's word and law. This psalmist was likely a future king, and accepting a bribe, God's law stated, at Exodus 23:8 "blinds clear-sighted men and can distort the words of righteous men." Also, any form of idolatry, exalting anyone or anything above the place only God should occupy in our hearts, causes those having eyes not to see, a reference to hampered spiritual vision. (Psalm 115). And Paul eludes to this, in referring to those influenced by Satan's godship, at 2Corinthians 4:4, "among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, so that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through." Therefore, may we not be fooled into underestimating the value or beauty of God's law, nor the rewards of adhering thereto. Eternal life in true peace and happiness is surely worth every effort to attain!
STANZA 4, Verses 25-32: WE CAN REMAIN FAITHFUL UNDER SEVERE TRIALS.
HELP TO ENDURE. We can remain faithful under the most trialsome circumstances. The inspired word of God says this, at 1Corinthians 10:13: "No temptation has come upon you except what is common to men. But God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, but along with the temptation he will also make the way out so that you may be able to endure it."
Verse 25 "I lie prostrate in the dust. Preserve me alive according to your word."
EVEN FROM THE DUST. (25) He thus speaks as if "at the end of his rope." Nevertheless, He falls back on God and His promise to sustain him. It is faith, or deep trust and reliance upon God, that was "counted to [Abraham] as righteousness." One's name may have been brought into disrepute. Even if sins have been committed, forgiveness can be found. God can raise one up even from the dust. Psalm 55:22 says "Throw your burden on Jehovah, And he will sustain you. Never will he allow the righteous one to fall." May we continue trusting in Jehovah, seeking what is right. Psalm 34:19 says: "Many are the hardships of the righteous one, But Jehovah rescues him from them all."
Recall the theme for STANZA 5, verses 33-40:
WHOLE-HEARTED OBEDIENCE CAN BE (HAPPILY) CULTIVATED AND SUSTAINED OVER TIME.
Verses 34 and 37 contain some key thoughts on this theme, helping us to comprehend God's law and it's value, and hold to it. Verse 38 offers another hint as to the writer of Psalm 119. Here are the verses and their associated comments:
Verse 34 Give me understanding, So that I may observe your law And keep it with my whole heart.
UNDERSTANDING AND GODLY OBEDIENCE. (34) The psalmist recognizes the importance of the quality of understanding, when it comes to learning to fully obey Jehovah. Understanding involves seeing the big picture, along with all the individual pieces that make it up, and how they all interconnect to make the whole. This is vital, for instance, when learning to operate a motor vehicle. There are many principles and traffic laws that must be learned, that together make it possible to safely navigate the roadways among fellow drivers. Without understanding how these many laws work together, there would be chaos and confusion. People often grow in understanding as they thus learn to drive properly. God is honored by our respect for such laws. We should also learn such laws, not only for our own benefit, but out of love and respect for our neighbors, with interest in their safety. With such motives, it is possible to observe God's law with our "whole heart." Such laws will then most likely affect our actions and reactions, as we truly seek to obey and honor God from the heart.
Verse 37 Turn my eyes away from looking at what is worthless; Preserve me alive in your way.
DISCERNMENT AND GODLY OBEDIENCE. (37) This verse shows an important consideration to maintaining godly obedience--being careful what we give attention to, especially what we choose to look at. We need the quality of discernment to judge between something of value spiritually and something "worthless." This quality helps us discern between right and wrong, true and false, good and bad, wise and unwise, and between more important matters and those less so but still required. We might add: between things of great value and those of less or no value. How would you value a close relationship with God? How about eternal life in true peace and happiness, and that of your loved ones and friends? Of course, the latter depends upon the former. Hopefully you've come to value both highly. If so, we should have no problem turning away from things that undermine what we treasure most, choosing instead the things in harmony with God's right ways and standards. In this way we act in harmony with the psalmist's plea to be 'preserved alive in God's own way.' If you don't yet feel close to God, pray to Him more, with faith, or deep trust in Him and His desire to reward you for your loyalty. (Hebre 11:6). Confidently ask him for things you truly need, and experience His hand of assistance in your life, while you read His word for His guidance. In this way, "Draw close to God, and He will draw close to you..." (James 4:8).
Recall the theme for STANZA 6, verses 41-48:
LOYAL DEVOTION TO GOD REFINES OUR INTEGRITY AND STRENGTHENS OUR HOPE.
In addition to verse 41, verses 44 and 47 also underscore this theme. They read: "I will keep your law constantly, Forever and ever... I am fond of your commandments, Yes, I love them."
Verse 41 May I experience your loyal love, O Jehovah, Your salvation in harmony with your promise.
CULTIVATE AFFECTION FOR JEHOVAH. (41) The psalmist thus shows that God's love for us would certainly move Him to bring us salvation in His judgment, in harmony with many such promises in His word. Psalm 91, evidently written by Moses, says this in verses 14-16: "God said: “Because he has affection for me, I will rescue him. I will protect him because he knows my name. 15 He will call on me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in distress. I will rescue him and glorify him. 16 I will satisfy him with long life, And I will cause him to see my acts of salvation.” All this because of our affectionate love for Jehovah, shown by our loyal obedience to Him (1John 5:3). Such an attachment to God personally, a close relationship with Him, moves Jehovah to respond loyally in return. "Draw close to God and He will draw close to you..." says James 4:8. Accordingly, our hope of salvation is thereby strengthened.
Recall the theme for STANZA 7, verses 49-56:
GOD'S LAW AND WORD OF PROMISE ARE RELIABLE AND TRUSTWORTHY.
Verses 49, 50 and 56 especially help us appreciate this truth, as the psalmist experienced it for himself. These verses read: "Remember your word to your servant, Through which you give me hope. This is my comfort in my affliction, For your saying has preserved me alive...(In reference to keeping God's law:) This has been my practice Because I have observed your orders." Note here comments for verses 49 and 56.
Verse 49: Remember your word to your servant, Through which you give me hope.
WORDS OF PROMISE, HOPE. (49) This likely future king evidently received a word of promise from Jehovah, which helped to sustain him through difficult times. Of course, God's word the Bible is filled with hope-inspiring promises from God. Hope is vital to all, and God is eager for people to look to Him with hope in His blessing and salvation by seeking faithfulness to Him. In fact, a primary reason God's word the Bible has been provided to humans is that "we might have hope." Romans 15:4 says: "For all the things that were written beforehand were written for our instruction, so that through our endurance and through the comfort from the Scriptures we might have hope." After Adam's sin, it took Jehovah almost no time at all to provide hope to the human family of a restoration of God's purpose, with the prophecy recorded in Genesis 3:15. Thus Jehovah is keenly aware of our need for this. May we likewise be quick to provide comfort to one lacking hope, if only they may turn to the God of hope, Jehovah. Psalm 146:5 says "Happy is the one who has the God of Jacob as his helper, Whose hope is in Jehovah his God."
The psalmist strove to keep God's law, and accordingly said this, in verse 56: "This has been my practice Because I have observed your orders."
PUTTING JEHOVAH FIRST. (56) Observing God's orders cause "the heart to rejoice," as God gives us rewarding activities to focus our attention on to help accomplish His will. (Psalm 19:8). It is as David sang at Psalm 23:5-6 "...My cup is well-filled. 6 Surely goodness and loyal love will pursue me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of Jehovah for all my days." The psalmist made it a practice to do the things necessary to maintain his hold on God's law, because he followed God's orders, and these helped him to maintain soundness of mind, keeping his priorities straight in life. When we put God first in life, doing as He instructs, other things seem to fall into place--we're able to get more accomplished than we may realize. Philippians 4:13 says "For all things I have the strength through the one who gives me power." And in reference to the order for Christians to share divine light, God's word mentions, at 2Corinthians 4:7 "However, we have this treasure ["the glorious knowledge of God"] in earthen vessels, so that the power beyond what is normal may be God’s and not from us." May we thus diligently seek God's commands through Christ, relying upon God for the power to keep them, assisting us in drawing close to God and proving a blessing to fellow humans.
The theme for stanza 8, verses 57-64, is this:
CLOSENESS TO GOD AND DIVINE FAVOR WORTH EVERY EFFORT TO MAINTAIN.
Verse 58, 63, and 64 especially underscore this theme, as we see the value of having God's blessing, and the joys of serving Jehovah alongside others who love, obey, and greatly respect Him. Verses 58 and 63 with remarks follow:
Verse 58: I appeal to you with all my heart; Show me favor according to your promise.
COMPLETE LOVE FOR GOD, THEN OTHERS. (58) The psalmist makes every effort to please His God, to receive His favor and approval, appealing to Him "with all [his] heart." This may remind you of Jesus' designation of the greatest commandments of the Law, as revealed at Matthew 22:37-40: "He said to him: “‘You must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind.’38 This is the greatest and first commandment. 39 The second, like it, is this: ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments the whole Law hangs, and the Prophets.” As important as it is to love people, here we see loving God takes priority. Jehovah God has the greatest capacity for love, it being His greatest quality. (1John 4:8). It is Jehovah's part in a marriage that can make it a steadfast bond, not easily broken, as Ecclesiastes 4:12 states: "And someone may overpower one alone, but two together can take a stand against him. And a threefold cord cannot quickly be torn apart." Thus the greatest love one can show to his or her spouse is by helping one another be loyal and faithful to God. Then, by God's command, they should love one another, becoming "one flesh." (Genes 2:24).
Verse 63 I am a friend of all who fear you And of those who keep your orders.
GENUINE PEACE AND LOVE CAN FLOURISH--HOW? (63) Here is another joy of loving God first and serving Him faithfully--we may find delightful association with others who are equally devoted to Jehovah, holding to His standards. The genuine fear of God is not a morbid one--while respecting His greatness and power, we fear displeasing or hurting Him, wanting nothing to hinder His love. Thus, godly fear and love are spoken of together in the Scriptures. (Deute 10:12; Psalm 103:11). It is ONLY by the united loyalty to Jehovah God that genuine peace and love can flourish, having His support and blessing! Proverbs 10:22 reminds us: "It is the blessing of Jehovah that makes one rich, And He adds no pain with it." Psalm 133:1 expresses the result, in saying: "Look! How good and how pleasant it is For brothers to dwell together in unity!" Together, we treasure loyalty and faithfulness to God, shown by our obedience. God's son, Jesus, likewise revealed the way to genuine peace and love. (John 14:6).
The theme for STANZA 9, verses 65-72, is this, along with selected verse commentary:
GOD’S DISCIPLINE IS GOOD FOR US, HELPING US TREASURE HIS PRICELESS LAW.
Verse 68: You are good and your works are good. Teach me your [instructions].
GOD'S WORKS PROVEN GOOD! (68) Thus, Jehovah’s works are in harmony with His personality—they are a manifestation of His great love, wisdom, power, and sense of justice. His primary quality, according to His word, is love. While God HAS the other qualities, it is only love that He IS. (1John 4:8,16). Therefore, we can expect His works, past, present, and future to primarily manifest this quality. Can we not see this in God’s works of creation? The way humans have been made ‘in God’s image,’ to be able to think, reason, draw conclusions, work with our hands, move with our feet, laugh, and enjoy living—can we not appreciate our Great Designer? How much work would teams of scientists and engineers have to do to design and create a robot that could do all the things humans are capable of doing? Could it really just come about by chance? What about all that went into the animal creation, with the delightful experiences of watching kittens or puppies at play, seeing squirrels or other acrobatic creatures amaze us with their feats of skill, witnessing a bird’s talented flight or listening to birdsong? What about the sights and aromas of beautiful flowers or blossoming trees in springtime? Then being able to share such times with friends and loved ones, delighting in conversation over meals and other enjoyable activities—can our appreciation and love for God not continue to grow as we contemplate His innumerable kindnesses manifested toward the human family? Yes, Jehovah is good and His works are good! Like the psalmist, may we thus be moved to willingly learn from God even His detailed guidance for us, that we may know how to live and support the doing of His will and good purpose.
Verse 71: It is good that I have been afflicted, So that I may learn your [instructions].
THE PROTECTION OF GOD'S LAW. (71) Similar to verse 67, the psalmist looks back on times of difficulty, as disciplining him toward godly obedience. He came to recognize God’s law as a protection from the stain and pain of wrong conduct. He learned God’s detailed instructions, or guidance, that he might keep it, finding and maintaining God’s approval, favor, and blessing. Happily, Jehovah can forgive past error, even making such mistakes “white like snow.” (Isaiah 1:18). Still, there can be consequences that ones have to live with for serious transgressions, just as David suffered many family troubles for his sins. How much better to appreciate God’s goodness, accepting His loving correction to begin with, choosing to live in accord with His standards!
Verse 72: The law that you have proclaimed is good for me, More so than thousands of pieces of gold and silver.
PRICELESS WISDOM OVER MONEY. (72) Here the stanza is summed up with an evaluation of God’s law—truly priceless! The psalmist has shown over several stanzas the benefits of keeping it whole-heartedly—remaining in a close relationship with God, and usually being respected by many God-fearing persons. He recognized God’s law as good, not just for others, but for him personally, moving him to value it more than money. Ecclesiastes 7:12 says “The advantage of knowledge is this: Wisdom preserves the life of its owner.” Money, while necessary, cannot buy eternal life or true happiness, as God’s word clarifies. Therefore may we come to see what is of greatest value in life, and refuse to let others convince us otherwise!
The theme for all of stanza 10, verses 73-80, is:
SUBMISSION TO GOD'S DISCIPLINE PLACES US IN HIS HANDS TO EXPERIENCE HIS FAITHFULNESS.
Verse 75: I know, O Jehovah, that your judgments are righteous And that you have afflicted me in your faithfulness.
GOD'S LOVING CORRECTION. (75) The psalmist was a likely king or future king, and thus perhaps came under more of God’s discipline than most, needing refinement to carry out the will of God fully. Likewise, those receiving sonship to rule with Christ also need more of God’s loving correction to guide them in receiving their privileged reward from God. Anointed Hebrew Christians at one time were evidently focusing too much on any problems, as Paul sought to correct their view, stating at Hebrews 12:5-6: “5 And you have entirely forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons: “My son, do not belittle the discipline from Jehovah, nor give up when you are corrected by him; 6 for those whom Jehovah loves he disciplines, in fact, he scourges everyone whom he receives as a son.” The psalmist thus felt he was experiencing difficulties that God at least permitted, yet he saw God’s faithfulness in His dealings with him. He knew God’s judgments were righteous, and he could endure in faithfulness, learning from his experiences to observe God’s law fully.
The theme for stanza 11, verses 81-88, is:
GOD'S RELIABLE ORDERS HELP PRESERVE US THROUGH PERIODS OF PERSECUTION.
Verse 81: I long for your salvation, For your word is my hope.
GREATEST AUTHORITY--JEHOVAH GOD. (81) At Matthew 5:10 Jesus said: "“Happy are those who have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake, since the Kingdom of the heavens belongs to them." Proverbs 17:26 says: "To punish the righteous one is not good, And to flog honorable people goes against what is right." Being persecuted, or harassed with harmful desire, for one's keeping integrity to God, faithfully following His orders, is highly displeasing to the Greatest Authority, Jehovah God. He says, regarding His true servants, "Whoever touches you touches the pupil of my eye." (Zecha 2:8). Yet we should humbly endure wrongs without seeking vengenace, respecting the admonition from God, at Romans 12:19, "Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but yield place to the wrath; for it is written: “‘Vengeance is mine; I will repay,’ says Jehovah.” Jehovah can see the motives of all, and judge most appropriately according to each person, in due time. Still, we should endure with hope of salvation, trusting in God's word of wisdom and promise. The loving way we cope may in time cause onlookers to turn to the God of love and hope, Jehovah. Regardless, Jehovah knows what is best for all, and He can "make the way out in order for you to be able to endure it." (1Cori 10:13). Isaiah 25:8 promises: "He will swallow up death forever, And the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces. The reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth, For Jehovah himself has spoken it." Let's look forward to such a blessing for all who may become Christian servants of God!
Verse 84: How many days must your servant wait? When will you bring judgment against those persecuting me?"
GOD'S JUDGMENT, WILL & POWER TO ACT. (84) Notice the faith of the psalmist in God's judgment, will, and power to act in his behalf. IT was not IF he could bring judgment, but WHEN He would do so. May this move wrongdoers to turn around from their evil works before God's judgment arrives, coming to know God's love, that they may receive of God's abundant mercy, and have hope of spiritual and eternal life. May this move all of us to continue to hope in God, drawing closer to Him, and seek to live by His standards, in harmony with 2Peter 2:9-10, stating: "So, then, Jehovah knows how to rescue people of godly devotion out of trial, but to reserve unrighteous people to be destroyed on the day of judgment, 10 especially those who seek to defile the flesh of others and who despise authority." Such latter ones need urgently to turn from wrongdoing and seek God's face, pleading for His help to change their thinking, habits, and ways. This can be done, but not in one's own strength. Regarding even with Jesus' apostles gaining salvation, Jesus said to them "intently," at Matthew 19:26: "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." The same powerful holy spirit God used to create the universe, can be of assistance to help humans acquire "power beyond what is normal" to make necessary changes to please God more fully. (2Cori 4:7). May we pray for God's holy spirit, which He gives to "those asking Him" and to those "obeying Him as ruler." (Luke 11:13; Acts 5:32).
Verse 87: They almost exterminated me from the earth, But I did not abandon your orders.
GOD'S ORDERS, RELIANCE ON HIM. (87) By concentrating on God's most serious and urgent commands, we may be protected from possible spiritual harm. The psalmist was even guarded from extermination. Let us prayerfully rely on Jehovah during such times, knowing of faithful men and women throughout history who faced similar trials (Hebrews 11-12).
May we thus come to appreciate God's discipline and it's many benefits, placing ourselves in His hands of faithfulness by looking to Him and His word and law to guide and protect us spiritually through good times and periods of difficulty.
_______"17 The one who heeds discipline is a path to life, But the one who ignores reproof leads others astray. 18 The one who conceals his hatred speaks lies, And the one spreading malicious reports is stupid. 19 When words are many, transgression cannot be avoided, But whoever controls his lips acts discreetly. 20 The tongue of the righteous one is like the finest silver, But the heart of the wicked one is worth little. 21 The lips of the righteous one nourish many, But the foolish die for lack of sense."
Prove 10:17 As we've discussed previously, discipline is not synonymous with punishment. Rather, it is loving correction, with the word coming from the same root as "disciple", bringing to mind teaching and training. Given out of genuine love, a child should be moved to listen and heed the discipline. Any punishment should be sparing, with exceptional effort to ensure the child realizes the loving motive behind it, with clear emphasis on the lesson(s) to be learned, and the way to avoid such punishment in the future. Reproof is strong discipline, needed in certain circumstances. Jehovah said regarding the wayward nation of Israel that He would discipline them "to the proper degree," and by no means leave them unpunished. (Jeremiah 30:11). Hebrews 12:6 says "those whom Jehovah loves he disciplines, in fact, he scourges everyone whom he receives as a son." Thus, all of us at times need loving correction! If we refuse, especially strong correction, we not only hurt ourselves, but our stubbornness can have a negative effect on others, 'leading them astray.'
"19 When words are many, transgression cannot be avoided, But whoever controls his lips acts discreetly."
"20 The tongue of the righteous one is like the finest silver, But the heart of the wicked one is worth little."
"21 The lips of the righteous one nourish many, But the foolish die for lack of sense."
Prove 10:22 One of the more familiar verses to many, it states a marvelous principle, that primarily spiritual wealth comes from having God's blessing on our activity, by seeking His guidance and way of living. Living in accord with His righteousness, seeking His honor and glory, brings His smile of approval and favor, and He blesses us as He did Job and other faithful ones of Bible record. How we need God's blessing to be truly successful, in harmony with godly wisdom moved by love! Psalm 127:1 says "Unless Jehovah builds the house, It is in vain that its builders work hard on it. Unless Jehovah guards the city, It is in vain that the guard stays awake." May we also give Jehovah the rightful praise for His blessing and benefits. Two verses, from the King James Version (KJV) perhaps sum this up: Revelation 4:11, referring to, as in verse 8, the "Lord God Almighty," says this: "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created." And Psalm 83:18 says: "That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth." We might also notice that with God's blessing, "He adds no pain with it." Jehovah desires our happiness and prosperity, He is in no way eager to bring harm or punishment. He only wants to lovingly correct us when necessary, and reward us for loving Him and doing right.
Prove 10:23 The "stupid" one scripturally is not necessarily unintelligent, but while usually knowing the right thing, often chooses to ignore it. He is not understanding the big picture, and all the many reasons God gives us His good guidance in the first place. He is also not using "discernment" to distinguish right from wrong, good from bad, truth from falsehood, wise from unwise, and more serious matters of law from lesser matters, though still required. Thus, "the stupid ones glorify dishonor," not concerned about a fine reputation with God, and they "hate to turn away from bad," in contrast to one with a healthy respect for God, which involves the "hating of bad." (Prove 8:13). God's word helps us learn the consequences of both good and bad decisions and actions, that we may ponder such, to come to hate what is bad in fearing to displease God, or hurt Him in any way.
Prove 10:24-25 The "wicked" usually know that they are doing wrong, and thus deep down fear having to answer for their wrong conduct, whereas the righteous have no such worries--they look forward to God's favor and rewards for doing right before Him. If only such evil ones would repent of their wrongdoing, and "search for Jehovah while He may be found," calling to Him "while He proves to be near." (Isaiah 55:6,7). Thus truly turning around from their badness can bring "seasons of refreshing...from Jehovah himself." (Acts 3:19). The "wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord." Having faith in the ransom sacrifice of Jesus, and hating wrong conduct, ones may no longer "fear any sudden terror Nor the storm that is coming on the wicked." (Prove 3:25). That storm comes so that true peace may be able to flourish earth-wide, without it being ruined by troublemakers. Right-hearted mankind will form the foundation of eternal peace on this planet, and whatever other blessings God may have in store for obedient ones.
Prove 10:26 The lazy one often becomes such by being praised for knowledge gained, rather than for efforts made to use that knowledge for the benefit of others, to "work at good", or to "work what is good toward all, but especially toward those related to us in the faith." (1Timo 6:18; Galat 6:10). By praising youths for their efforts and accomplishments, we may help them become "diligent", leading to success and satisfaction. (Prove 21:5; 13:4).
Prove 10:27 May we cultivate the healthy dread of displeasing God, of hurting Him in any way. This fear is not morbid, as may be imagined by those believing that God would allow his beloved human creation to be tormented in punishment. When Israel fell to false worship, and began hurting their own children, Jehovah says of the practice: "which I commanded them not, neither came it into my heart." (Jerem 7:31). See the article "Finding Truth" for further discussion of God's just punishment for evildoers. Rather, we fear God by hating what He says is bad, understanding the harmful consequences of wrongdoing, including its associated heartache, heartbreak, troubles, turmoil, grief, sadness, pain, and so on, especially of serious sins. May we rejoice to do good, pleasing God, and bringing His smile of approval, favor, and rewards, including eternal life in true peace and happiness! (Prove 27:11; James 1:12).
JESUS' WORDS
As recorded at Matthew 7:24-25,
“Therefore, everyone who hears these sayings of mine and does them will be like a discreet man who built his house on the rock.25 And the rain poured down and the floods came and the winds blew and lashed against that house, but it did not cave in, for it had been founded on the rock."
Related commentary regarding Proverbs 9:1, which itself says this:
"True wisdom has built its house; It has carved out its seven pillars."
(09:01) Jesus spoke of building a house with faith and obedience to his sayings and commands. (Matth 7:24,25). Thus we seek God's righteousness, adherence to God's way, as the framework for a happy and successful life and family, both now and long into the future, everlastingly. Also the house should be built with true love for God and neighbor. However, what about the seven pillars of wisdom? What does Proverbs reveal as to some of the essentials? The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of both wisdom and knowledge. (Prove 1:7; 9:10), and is accompanied by a crucial attitude of humility . So we need to have trust in Jehovah, faith in our powerful God of love, and Christ . Jesus Christ is the foundation cornerstone , with the prophets and Christian apostles forming the foundation itself. (Ephes 2:20). Our faith in Jesus and his loving sacrifice is crucial to the gaining of life. Divine knowledge should thus also be a pillar. Both discernment and understanding are highlighted as crucial to learning the fear of Jehovah. (Proverbs 2:1-5) Also, foresighted prudence assisting good judgment is vital as well, being able to look ahead at consequences of good and bad decisions, using such knowledge accordingly. (Prove 22:3; 14:15). Then truth, with faithfulness, honest integrity or righteousness should likewise be included. Again, the entire house should be built with love for both God and others, with faith, and in accord with God's righteousness. Aside from referring to seven vital qualities associated with wisdom, it is entirely possible that the seven pillars may refer to distinct areas of knowledge essential to living under the rule of God's Kingdom.
_______
POSSIBLE? Two months from now, on the 16th of the month, what day of the week will it be? How would you like to know the answer without having to check your phone, calendar, or appointment book, or recall some complex memorization device? What if time or days could be measured in a more orderly way? Might this increase our ability to organize activities better, and promote greater happiness? How would you like every month to begin on a Monday? What if every month was 4 weeks, or 28 days long? Is it possible to maintain this year after year? Many may recall that the year can primarily be split into 4 divisions of 13 weeks each, totaling 364 days. Thus, turning this around, could we have 13 months of 4 weeks each? And could we incorporate one additional month in a way that wouldn’t upset the balance of seasons that we’ve become accustomed to?
IT IS POSSIBLE! The answers may indeed be a resounding YES! Would the additional month necessarily have to be at the end of the year? Or rather, could it be divided up, one week at a time, at the conclusion of each 3-month period, at the beginning of each season? Initially, I proposed the month be named Humanity, largely as a reminder of the one human family God made, and the dignity with which we should accord one another within this family. However, the name of a month needs to be chosen carefully, so that it not be confused with normal words, which can cause misunderstandings, especially in the ears of young children. For instance, Humanity 1, Humanity 2, etc. could be misconstrued. Researching the origins of the word “month” led to a proposed adjustment, to recommend calling the month Humaneth. The meaning may be retained, and the origins explained and related to the appealing term of Humanity. Thus Humaneth 1-7 could appear at the end of the first 3 months, some days after the beginning of the spring equinox, which would normally occur around the time of March 20. And after 3 full months of 4 weeks each, what if some may even be able to have this week off from normal work activities, an additional rest and recreational period to add to the blessings of God’s Kingdom arrangement? Granted, this might not be possible for everyone, but perhaps those that must still work, may work less, and possibly alternate with other workers, to have off some other time of the year. We may be surprised what is possible with God’s blessing on this arrangement! What a fine time of reflection and activity each of these weeks could be, as we prepare for a new season!
YEAR TO YEAR? So with 4 separate weeks of Humaneth, the final being Humaneth 22-28 after the last normal month of the year, what can be done to account for the additional 1-1/4 days, the year actually being 365-1/4 days long? First, we need one additional day each year, to maintain the first of each month as Monday, the beginning of the week we’ve grown accustomed to. We certainly don't want every month the following year starting on Tuesday! While this day, Humaneth 29, would help maintain our sanity, following the Sunday of Humaneth 28, and avoid causing confusion with another day Monday through Sunday, which could be maintained each as 52 days of the year, a name appropriate to it's intended purpose might be simply, "Reflection," or "Reflection Day". It would follow the Sunday of Humaneth 28, and give us pause before looking ahead to the new year. Either way, every fourth year, we would need one more additional day, Humaneth 30, to account for the Leap year. I would like to propose we actually call this “Quad Day,” having reference to the number 4, as I believe it would be advantageous for us to refer to each 4-year cycle as a “Quad,” or a "Quad cycle." It is evidently a period of time God built in to Earth’s journey around the Sun, and a period that should be recognized in some useful way, in counting time. It would still follow "Reflection" and likely also be a day of consideration of the prior 4 years, before looking ahead to the next.
OTHER MONTH NAMES. Then, while we’re looking at such significant changes, could we not reconsider even the names of our months? How beneficial are the meanings of the months as they are? What if they could be renamed in a way that would help our precious children gain values and understand more of what’s important in life, to be happier and more at peace with themselves and others? Let’s propose names that have meaning and provide some order to values contributing greatly to a wise and peaceful human family. Again, we can be careful to choose names that wouldn’t be confusing to words used ordinarily, so the names shouldn’t necessarily sound familiar:
In a new world of God’s making, benefitting from the rule of His Kingdom,
The first three months might be named accordingly:
(1) Prudency (Pru.) - Many would agree the first month should be about foresight, looking ahead at the upcoming year, perhaps doing some planning, and considering far-reaching goals. Prudence is a highly important aspect of divine wisdom, involving the looking ahead at the consequences of our decisions, and choosing a wise course. Hence, an appropriate name to begin the year. Some Bibles refer to this quality as “shrewdness.” (Proverbs 14:15). While the name EverPray was considered, it was found that Prudency enabled both young and old alike to consider the consequences of both good and bad choices, choosing good.
(2) HopenGod-Jah (Hop.) - Vital for happiness, and needed to be restored quickly if ever lost, is HOPE. And our hope should be in our Creator, first and foremost. (Romans 15:4).
(3) Noli (Nol.) - An important early value is learning to tell truth from falsehood. What a vital, life-saving ability! May we aim to gain and refine the wisdom to tell the difference, and refuse to carry on or promote harmful untruths.
After 4 weeks each of these months, would come the first week of Humaneth, 1-7.
The next three months of Spring might then be named:
(5) Agreehelp (Agr.) While considered an agricultural month, the name suggests a measure of peace, with encouragement to lovingly assist others to come to a proper view, and the abbreviation fits well with agriculture. Peace is to be a hallmark of God’s new world, so it appears here early on in development. This is a quality God expects us to strive to maintain with Him and fellow humans, never growing bitter and allowing hatred to fester toward others, but rather treating others with compassion and understanding where possible.
(6) Humilidad (Hml.) While this was previously Hapnesy , it has been determined that deep-seated joy should be experienced by lovers of God throughout the year, while this ever-vital quality or attitude of HUMILITY is such an important aspect of every faithful worshiper of God. Humility greatly promotes peaceful dealings and relationships with others, and assists a right relationship with Jehovah God himself.
After 4 weeks each of these months, would come the second week of Humaneth, 8-14.
The following three months of Summer might then be named:
(7) Jahferss (Jfs.) ,"Jah" being the shortened form of God's name, such as appears in the expression "Hallelujah."The unusual spelling helps to avoid confusion with the first day of the month. An example where this shortened form of God's name should appear in the Scriptures can be found at Isaiah 12:2, which says "Look! God is my salvation. I will trust and feel no dread; For Jah Jehovah is my strength and my might, And he has become my salvation.” Another verse that all should perhaps know, that could help young ears to learn who "Jah" is, would be Psalm 106:1, which reads: "Praise Jah! Give thanks to Jehovah, for he is good; His loyal love endures forever." Putting God first is important in the development of a person, contributing to the quality of godly devotion, which involves a close personal attachment to God as a person. The very first of the Ten Commandments requires that we give God exclusive devotion, not worshiping anyone or anything else. This makes possible His blessing on us as individuals, and as a nation or people. This expression may also help us remain a strong but humble people before God and one another, promoting genuine peace and happiness. Godly devotion was recognized by many of those founding this country, as they sought to worship God more freely in accord with His word the Bible. It is God Himself who made possible the founding of such a nation, in spite of the imperfections and weaknesses of men, and we do well to rightly give Him credit for such achievements.
(8) LisnaJah (Lis.) While others qualities originally held this spot, an emerging realization of the need to underscore as essential God's word became a high priority. In fact, the Scriptures point out that obedience to God is what's needed to bring about the purity that's considered a primary aspect of divine wisdom (James 3:17). And such also contributes greatly to genuine peace. These qualities are vital to develop divine wisdom and happiness. This initially appeared one month later, but logically should be placed prior to the reminder to love Jehovah's ways, and even our all-important faith begins with hearing the word of Jehovah. (Romans 10:17).
The concluding three months of Fall or Autumn might then be named:
(10) Autisciplince (Aut.) Our longest name, it carries an abbreviation appropriate for the beginning of Autumn. It’s meaning involves Self-discipline. How much better when we can correct ourselves to avoid wrongdoing, before others lovingly attempt to do so themselves! While we want to appreciate the appropriate efforts of others to offer correction where necessary, the development of this quality may enhance one’s life considerably.
(11) Goodsee (Gds.) After an early reminder to hope in God, we now may see much good from hard work and such faith as any remaining harvesting of crops takes place and we experience the fruitage of this work. This is a reminder of God’s blessing, and may cause appreciation and thankfulness to overflow within us.
(12) Loyalnes (Loy.) To round out the year, "loyal love" is a crowning goal and accomplishment, something all should strive for. The term loyalty has been chosen to best describe and remind us of the true "love" encouraged in God's word, at times translated "loyal love." The term "love" by itself is often applied in many different ways, which may contribute to confusion to the very young. This is the love spoken of in God's word that we are to have for God and fellow humans. As God has shown true loyal love to humans first, we are moved to reflect it to Him and others. Of God, Psalm 103:11 says: "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So great is his loyal love toward those [in awe of] him." And Proverbs 3:3 says "Do not let loyal love and faithfulness leave you. Tie them around your neck; Write them on the tablet of your heart." This loyal love should be shown to God first, then fellow humans, treating them in a beneficial way promoting their long-term happiness. This name thus carries such significance. "Loyal love" is the type of love highlighted throughout God's word that most closely identifies God Himself, in saying "God is love." (1John 4:8). Thus, when thinking of God, we might at times also think of this quality. Also, aspects of this quality appear in other month names, as described in 1Corinthians 13:4-8.For instance, love "hopes all things," it "rejoices with the truth," and it "does not rejoice over unrighteousness."Also, in saying "love is patient," the term can be associated with loyalty, as a loyal person can patiently put up with a disagreeable circumstance in a relationship, seeking God-approved ways to correct it, with blazing hope of a restored condition. That's loyal love! Most, if not all, of the values presented as month names find good order as qualities that make for fruitful activity and a positive contribution to society.
After 4 weeks of each of these months, would come the fourth week of Humaneth, 22-28, 29 (proposed "Reflection"), and every fourth year, 30 (proposed "Quad Day")
CONCLUSION:
_______
ISSUE AFTER ISSUE ADDRESSED BY GOD’S KINGDOM: MARRIAGE & PARTNERSHIPS
Philippians 4:5 “Let your reasonableness become known to all men. The Lord is near.”
Hebrews 13:4a “Let marriage be honorable among all...”
MARRIED LIFE. For true Christians generally, God’s word throughout encourages married life.[For those struggling with such a view of marriage, the paragraph headed “OTHER SITUATIONS” below may contain some helpful information.] While the apostle Paul once recommended singleness, he was then speaking to original anointed Christians with the heavenly calling, as their circumstances would change sometime after their death. Even at that, marriage while on earth was still an option. For God’s eternal universal purpose, clearly marriage may be considered a gift—to share life’s experiences with a beloved married companion. Who will be your partner, as we clean up our planet, and welcome our ancestors back to life on earth? Who will this partner be if afterward, God wishes you to start a family, even elsewhere in the universe? Supposing there is nothing interfering with the typical romantic feelings experienced by men and women, we might ask: What of one nearing marriageable age—a young man or a young woman?
YOUNG MEN. Considering a restored standard of marriage for most every person, trusting God to help one find a suitable partner, or to help two near marriage to take that step, how might we view the growth process in preparation for this potentially joyful relationship? A young man who is able to work to support himself, upon reaching a marriageable and responsible age, might choose to leave his parents’ home and begin to find and manage a home of his own. He could certainly have begun preparing for such a step years before, with the help of parents and others. All such men should learn how to manage their own home, as they will need to do this well in the caring of a wife and children. If he has not yet found a suitable wife, or a woman that is yet ready to take the step of marriage, how might he proceed? If he has a well-paying job that can support him alone and the paying of taxes for a single person, he may choose this course, while looking for the one to become his wife. However, many young men find it a challenge to rent a place or even pay mortgage on a home early in their working careers.
PARTNERSHIPS. What if two such men, perhaps already friends, neither yet having a marriage relationship, could take a stance as partners—let’s call them “Term Growth Partners.” One could take the lead in finding and paying for the home, being the primary owner or renter, while both work and contribute financially to the home and various expenses and needs that come up. Both are learning or practicing skills necessary for the management of a home that will be essential to begin a marriage and family. Neither one should practice laziness or shirk responsibility. Both should contribute almost equally for the benefit of one another, learning to be considerate of others as if having a family of one’s own. Why not allow such T.G.Partners to receive a tax credit similar to that of married folk, as these men are seeking and readying themselves for this relationship? And if they qualify, why not allow these responsible men even, if they wish, to foster a child who is without loving parents, either a young boy or girl, as long as one of the two men take primary responsibility for the child, and continue looking for a suitable wife, as a mother to the precious child? It should probably be the owner of the home, or primary renter, that be the responsible caregiver and provider for the child, but both should qualify to provide responsible care for the child in this partnership. Once again, a tax credit should be provided as in a family situation.
YOUNG WOMEN. What about a young woman, who herself has reached a marriageable and responsible age, and yet has not found a suitable partner? Why must she be burdened with the care and management of a home, that most young men are already preparing themselves for? Why shouldn’t the young woman remain, if possible, with her parents at their home, while perhaps finding suitable work, also practicing the skills that will be beneficial in support of her husband and children, when she finds him, with God’s blessing? With work, she may contribute to the parents’ expenses while hopefully having something to save for her own family’s needs in the future. This arrangement would prevent unnecessary burdens and expenses on the would-be new family, once she finds a suitable marriage partner! She may have been able to save up more for the family, that otherwise may have been lost to rent or mortgage costs. What does a new family do with two homes, two mortgages, or two rented properties—how much work goes into selling one of them, selling and/or consolidating furniture and other items accumulated in each home? Of course, this must be done in the case of those already on their own, and it may be considered a task helping the two to work out any differences fairly and agreeably between them. However, if the young woman can be free from such unnecessary burdens, how much more easily will be the transition to married life! Perhaps depending on her work situation, she may or may not be considered a dependent for tax purposes, the parents possibly receiving a tax credit to make up for the added expenses associated with her stay. Either way, this would appear to be the most beneficial situation for a young woman looking to marry. Evidently, “Philip the evangelizer” was able to support his four virgin daughters, even as they shared with him in the Christian ministry. (Acts 21:8-9). There are many examples throughout the Scriptures of women remaining at home until marriage—if this is possible in a given situation, we’ve seen many advantages to this. (Genesis 24; 29).
A PRECIOUS CHILD. Considering the foregoing, might there be adequate young families to care for a child who may have been born to a mother that is unwed and is not yet adequately prepared to raise him or her, if there are no relatives in a position to accept this responsibility either? Even if the child was conceived in rape or incest, is he or she not still a precious life? Certainly every precaution should be taken to prevent such a situation, but in the case that it does occur, how does God feel about any child conceived in or out of wedlock, according to His inspired word? Even God’s servant David wrote about his pre-birth self, in Psalm 139.
Notice verses 13-16: “13 For you produced my kidneys; You kept me screened off in my mother’s womb.14 I praise you because in an awe-inspiring way I am wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, I know this very well.15 My bones were not hidden from you When I was made in secret, When I was woven in the depths of the earth.16 Your eyes even saw me as an embryo; All its parts were written in your book Regarding the days when they were formed, Before any of them existed.”
EVEN “AS AN EMBRYO.” David refers to his time in the womb of his mother, and even as an embryo, before any body parts even existed! It was still David, who would go on to become King of Israel! There is another Bible passage, in the Mosaic Law, that reveals God’s view of an unborn child. This is found at Exodus 21:22-23:
“22 “If men should struggle with each other and they hurt a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely but no fatality results, the offender must pay the damages imposed on him by the husband of the woman; and he must pay it through the judges. 23 But if a fatality does occur, then you must give life for life”
GOD’S VIEW OF THE UNBORN. Yes, the unborn child was considered a life to God, such that if it was harmed before birth, the one causing the harm was even to die, if the child died as a result, according to the principle of eye for an eye, and in this case, life for a life. The purpose of such a strong penalty is so that those knowing the Law would AVOID becoming guilty of such things, so as NOT to receive such a harsh outcome. But as mentioned this reveals God’s view of the unborn child—just as much a life or a person as the one causing harm to a pregnant woman. Many women have suffered emotional pain after going through an abortion procedure—why not rather have this precious child, and give it up for adoption if the mother or a relative is yet unready to care for him or her? Yes, God did increase the pain of pregnancy after sin entered the human family, but it wasn’t done so as to prevent a woman from giving birth—it can be a tremendous bonding experience, even talking to or reading to the child before birth. And that increase of pain may well be ending, as the start of God’s Kingdom nears! It may well be that many aborted children will be resurrected by God and Christ in the new world, that they may see the light of day and the love of their parents, if possible, having renewed appreciation for this gift of life! Let’s consider God’s gift of life sacred and precious, and do what we reasonably can to protect it!
OTHER SITUATIONS. Now, of course not everyone is in the same position as the young men and women mentioned previously. Many are happily married, and have families of their own. Of course, those with more experience in life and a strong Christian faith would also be suited to accept foster children, if their hearts were ready for such a gift. And why wouldn’t two older men, unmarried, qualify as T.G.Partners as well, having even more experience in life, each looking for a married partner, and also perhaps qualifying to care for a foster child, if desired? Also, as God’s Kingdom nears, His power will certainly be available upon the human family, manifested in various ways. He can, for instance, restore transgender persons back to their original gender, but this time with the proper feelings appropriate for them, as “male and female He [God] created them.” (Genesis 1:27; Matthew 19:4). Recall that humans are not just spirits—we are physiological creatures, affected by various chemical processes and substances, some of which could create imbalances or disturbances if left unchecked. Some petroleum and plastics molecules, for instance, mimic hormones such as estrogens. As discussed previously in another article, one such substance, a pesticide called atrazine, has been used on some 75% or more of corn crops in the U.S., and can cause male frogs to turn female! Just what effect could it be having on humans? There are similar chemicals no doubt having a similar effect on many, even from a young age. Jesus spoke of a time of “re-creation.” (Matthew 19:28). So why wouldn’t Jehovah God be able to restore precious humans to the condition He intended them to be in for their genuine happiness and satisfaction in life? And let the Kingdom investigate to find alternatives to things that would contribute to “ruining the earth.”
CONCLUSION
GENUINE HAPPINESS. With God’s unfolding eternal purpose in view, brought about through His Kingdom, He doubtless intends many, if not all persons, to be happily married, sharing life’s experiences with a beloved partner. Thus the exhortation to “let marriage be honorable among all...” (Hebrews 13:4). God and Christ are also reasonable and understanding of various factors inhibiting the proper feelings of some men and women toward one another, and can correct such matters. May even young men and women be blessed by God to prepare for married life, and then to find that suitable marriage partner, delighting in the joys associated with that precious bond of union. May all others likewise appreciate this gift of God, and come to bring their lives into harmony with God’s loving purpose for humans, that we may look forward to genuine happiness, in a new world of peace and righteousness, by God’s divine standards!

SUBJECT: FIFTEENAGERS BECOMING RESPONSIBLE 2! Podcast: Becoming Responsible!
An update to this podcast is upcoming, further addressing the vital matter of security!
Revelation 21:5: "And the One seated on the throne said: “Look! I am making all things new.” Also he says: “Write, for these words are faithful and true.”
Philippians 1:9-11: "And this is what I continue praying, that your love may abound still more and more with accurate knowledge and full discernment; 10 that you may make sure of the more important things , so that you may be flawless and not stumbling others up to the day of Christ; 11 and that you may be filled with righteous fruit , which is through Jesus Christ, to God’s glory and praise."
RESPONSIBLE LIVING. There comes a time in the course of a teenager working toward adulthood with its many blessings and privileges before Jehovah God that a major step must be taken to assist the acquiring of a more thorough sense of responsibility that is essential to becoming truly prepared to face life as a genuine man or woman. Some serious steps must be taken, with full faith and trust in God, in order to be ready to properly handle such things as qualifying for and finding work to support oneself and eventually one's wife and family, proving that one can maintain living responsibly on one's own, trusting God, and becoming prepared for driving safely and responsibly. How can this be achieved in a way that allows both parents and their growing children to remain close while being about as far away as a tent in the backyard, while learning to grow into adulthood?
FIRST THINGS FIRST. At 15, youths are nearing the time for learning to operate a motor vehicle responsibly, and they certainly want to do so in a way that will not endanger the lives of others! Surely under God’s Kingdom, there must be a way that they can develop a proper sense of responsibility while maintaining or even growing the close bond they have with their godly parents and family members. It will be entirely advantageous if these youths find suitable employment during the summer prior to their initial high school year, to enable saving up for the expenses of the new dwelling at the start of the coming school year. Such youths, who prove themselves willing to demonstrate genuine reverence for Jehovah God, could demonstrate to others that an arrangement for living with a same-gender friend approved by the parents of both individuals, in an apartment located not far from home, elsewhere in the same city or nearby town or well-established community, could improve the ability of such young ones to acquire this proper responsible quality. Having been students of God’s word, and supporters of the true worship of Jehovah along with others in the community, such as among one of several Protestant Christian denominations, they could with parental guidance and assistance, locate a peaceful dwelling that may be considered a CLEAN, HOLY EXTENSION OF EACH ONE'S PARENTAL HOME. Under such conditions, they may each continue their school and personal study habits, perhaps even with less distraction as may be found elsewhere. Their love for the inspired word of God should be a hallmark of such a place, as it will be vital to maintain each one’s personal relationship with Jehovah and the purity and sanctity of the new environment.
AGREEMENTS AND OBLIGATIONS.
Of course, such a dwelling will usually require some agreement with the owner or landlord of the apartment. It is strongly recommended that a 2-year term be planned, however on a month-to-month basis, preferably during the summer working season, before the selected or assigned high school year for this dwelling, with provision in extreme circumstances to return home if ever necessary. The students themselves, as they take on this responsibility, could certainly have parental assistance to determine how best to suitably pay for any associated expenses. In this initial year, the parents may certainly help guide their youths as needed to acquire the necessary services for the dwelling, and these two students together may use inexpensive public transportation to acquire needs or meet parents or approved godly associates for an occasional meal, or to transport to their job location. Altogether, the process of acquiring work, the handling of assigned duties there, acquiring and practicing other skills needed to live responsibly, such as delightful cooking and thorough cleaning, organizing and tidiness, and the insight gained in the extension of home by what may be studied in preparation for life's privileges, all can contribute greatly to acquiring the sense of responsibility vital for life in the new world. Certainly these more youthful ones need quality neighborhoods to dwell in at this particular time in their growth.
OTHER HELPFUL STUDIES.
Regarding what is to be studied in this godly setting, there are several beneficial matters worthy of consideration. First and foremost in one's mind and heart should be a more thorough examination of God's word the Holy Bible, life's genuine instruction manual. In the life of these youths, it's law and wisdom have already proven to be a beneficial guide for them in many difficult situations, and they have likely come to see it's value in their course of activity. There is one provision that would be an excellent start to strengthening one's relationship with God and acquiring vital insight into the godly Christian personality that will prove to enable abundant peace to prevail in the new world of God's making: It is a publication produced by the worldwide congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, entitled "Draw Close to Jehovah." This publication is available for download preferably in the app "JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES KINGDOM," a relatively new provision from this congregation, one of the Twelve Tribes of Christianity, as explained further in one of the primary established articles on this website ( TWELVE TRIBES
).
VITALLY IMPORTANT! The Scriptures help us see this matter in the proper light: With compassion, none of us wish to see another suffer a terrible disaster. Jesus understood this, but made a serious point, for the purpose of helping us strongly hate giving any consideration to tempting others to violate God's law: At Luke 17:1-4, NLT we read: "One day Jesus said to His disciples, "There will always be temptation to sin, but what sorrow awaits the person who does the tempting! 2 It would be better to be thrown into the sea with a millstone hung around your neck than to cause one of these little ones to fall into sin. 3 So watch yourselves! If another believer sins, rebuke that person; then if there is repentance, forgive. 4 Even if that person wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns again and asks forgiveness, you must forgive." Therefore, while we understand that God is merciful, we must not take that mercy for granted, but always strive to please God in what we do. Then God will ensure you have the advice you need to remain faithful. At Psalm 32:8 God says: "I will give you insight and instruct you in the way you should go. I will give advice with my eye upon you. 9 Do not become like a horse or mule, without understanding, whose spiritedness must be controlled with a bridle or a halter before it will come near to you." Ultimately, it is Jehovah God who can help a youth to prosper and assist one in eventually finding a suitable marriage partner that will make possible decade after decade of sharing life's joys together within the realm of God's Kingdom, with great love for our Creator, shown by obedience to Him (1John 5:3).
MORE 'INSIGHT AND INSTRUCTION.' Recall that the new dwelling is to be an extension of the parental home. As such, it is fine to look forward to much that can also be examined by reading and study. Why not, for instance, have some study material on improving your reading comprehension and perhaps even reading speed? This will certainly come in handy the more you study. Also, this would be a good time for giving attention to an overview of the inspired word of God, with helpful materials, as it instructs us in making good decisions in practically every area of life, and getting to know better the world at large, as God shows His care for all those who will repent and appreciate His love for them. There will be other beneficial matters you can enjoy considering in this new environment, that you can learn to maintain according to God's standards of orderliness and cleanliness.
MAINTAINING SECURITY! Part of maintaining the extended home in accord with godly standards includes realizing the balance of between security and trust in a world that is still growing spiritually. We must realize that God's new world is to be built on genuine faith, deep trust especially in God, but also in others, all who will submit to God's instruction and cultivate genuine integrity to His word and law. Generally, by maintaining faith in Jehovah and adhering to divine standards, we should exercise caution, while placing a measure of trust in others, with genuine peace. We do need the spirit of a sound mind to protect ourselves from danger, as this world is still fraught with those who may not appreciate what we do about life! Of course, approved guests can be welcome! Ones you know and trust might be kindly greeted and spoken to either inside or out of doors where appropriate with your house partner with you. Speak with your parents on laying down the ground rules in such matters. Be careful to maintain the lock when going in or out of the home. With Jehovah by your side, you will be able to handle practically every situation that comes without undue worry or anxiety. He will help you develop good judgment and assist you to have other protective measures in place, such as smoke detectors and the like.

COME TO CONSENSUS CORNER
ISSUE AFTER ISSUE ADDRESSED BY GOD’S KINGDOM: LEGAL BUSINESS CONTRACTS, ETC.
Psalms “15 O Jehovah, who may be a guest in your tent? Who may reside in your holy mountain? 2 The one who is walking faultlessly, Practicing what is right And speaking the truth in his heart.”
Proverbs 12:19-20 “Truthful lips will endure forever, But a lying tongue will last for only a moment. 20 Deceit is in the heart of those who plot mischief, But those who promote peace have joy.”
A HOBBY? Are you one who loves to pour over legal documents as a hobby, eager to see what nuance you may find differing from a similar one you read six months prior from a similar company? Granted, the reading of such documents has become a necessary part of life today for most, and to some extent, they serve an important purpose, in making possible agreed upon terms and business obligations. Does it seem, however, that the companies promoting integrity, honesty and straightforwardness are hard to spot, based on the legal documents they put forward to do business with you? While wanting or needing services from a business entity, large or small, many find it a difficult challenge to weed through a mass of words and ensure there is not some hidden trap waiting to ensnare them unsuspectingly.
HONESTY. At the same time, there are companies eager to have your business, who are willing to be honest and straightforward in their terms of service, or in what they offer in their product lines. They are willing to tell you up front what your financial obligations are, and what they will provide accordingly. If it was possible, they would be willing to tell you in plain simple language what you are getting and what they are asking for from you.
LEGALESE. Could you see this as an issue worth addressing? Have you at times, for instance, hesitated to sign up with a company, perhaps on the internet, because it will require that you read through an exhaustive Privacy Policy and Terms of Service? Or are you one who is so put off by such legalese that you have considered clicking a box stating you have read and agree to the terms, even though you barely skimmed through it, just to have the product, services or information you desired? What may be done, in the spirit of God’s incoming Kingdom, to address such concerns as these?
STRAIGHTFORWARDNESS. What if the major companies in an industry, willing to show a spirit of cooperation, put their heads together and considered the terms they hold in common with one another, and what they might be willing to agree to in the way of fair business practices, and honest dealings with customers? Could such groups come up with an Industry-specific GENERAL TERMS, that relate what those specific companies hold in common or what they are willing to hold in common? Then, each individual company might have a few specific terms, that it could detail in another document, some sort of SPECIFIC TERMS document. Any person who has read the GENERAL TERMS document already, agreeing to it, may then need only read the SPECIFIC TERMS in order to comprehend all that the company is providing and requiring. Also, what if ALL of the FINANCIAL ISSUES affecting the customer were addressed at the very top of each of these documents, so there was no confusion or hidden tricks aiming to take advantage of someone? This may reveal an honest spirit of integrity for those companies willing to uphold such in the public eye. ANY COMPANY in the industry who can generally meet the standards set forth in the GENERAL TERMS document might declare their support, and develop their own SPECIFIC TERMS document making known any additions, modifications, or clarifications. This would save much unnecessary reading on the part of customers.
UPDATING. ALSO, if a GENERAL TERMS document needs to be modified or updated at all, let an UPDATE document be released, that shows just the changes made to the document, or all the changes made that calendar year, for any who have already read the ORIGINAL. They need only read and comprehend the changes. Perhaps the latest entire GENERAL TERMS document may be posted each January 1, so that anyone can read it or be reminded of it’s contents.
LAYMAN’S TERMS (LT) VERSION. What if, also, such a GENERAL TERMS document could be put into an additional LAYMAN’S TERMS VERSION, or LT VERSION, that would be no longer than 1/3 the original legal document length, and would spell out, honestly and openly, the primary concerns of the customer and company, in clear and simple language, apart from the legal terminology so common in those documents? Reading the LAYMAN’S TERMS document would give the average person a much faster read, and way to comprehend more readily what the legal document sets forth. Agreeing to the LT document may be a preliminary way of indicating a willingness to cooperate or enter agreement—they are willing to go further in pursuing the product or service. As long as the legal document contains nothing important intentionally hidden or missing from the LT document, the customer is then likely willing to do business, and the reading of the legal documents becomes more of a formality, while still, however, making it more official.
A STANDARD PRIVACY POLICY. Also, what if certain companies known for their integrity, security and privacy support, such as Apple, Inc., and I believe, Microsoft Corp. now also, similarly put forward a GENERAL PRIVACY POLICY document, that once again several other business or internet groups may officially support or adhere to, with perhaps just a few changes or additions? Having read this Privacy Policy, or it’s latest update, you need only read any PRIVACY POLICY SPECIFICS by the company of interest, to know where it stands on this crucial issue.
CONCLUSION
WHAT A GIFT! What a gift for such an arrangement to come about by such companies, perhaps in cooperation with honest legal teams, willing to cooperate and uphold God’s standards of fairness, justice, reasonableness, and good business practices! Many companies in the same industry usually have their own specific niche or specific rewards and benefits associated with using their products or services, attracting certain types of customers, such that companies do not need to have an overly competitive or dog-eat-dog spirit. God Himself can bless the efforts of each company willing to do things His way, well motivated to provide good products or services to fellow humans. Granted, some businesses may still come and go—such is the nature of a free market system, one enabling people to explore possibilities and look for solutions to real problems. But God’s Kingdom is bringing a spirit of unity and harmony among those honoring Him the likes of which have been rare in human history. The relatively free market system that was somewhat present in the days of Israel and that has in many ways blessed the United States, while allowing for market creativity with a desire to achieve financial success, is capable of operating more on integrity to good standards and loyal love for fellow humans than on selfish greed. Proverbs 11 says, for instance: “3 The integrity of the upright is what guides them, But the deviousness of the treacherous will destroy them.” May many good things come about by such an arrangement, blessed by God, as He and His Son lead us toward a time of genuine peace, prosperity, and happiness, even endlessly!

Week 10: ISSUE AFTER ISSUE ADDRESSED BY GOD’S KINGDOM: PROPER VIEW OF LAW
Psalm 1:2 “But his delight is in the law of Jehovah, And he reads His law in an undertone day and night.”
Joshua 1:8 “This book of the Law should not depart from your mouth, and you must read it in an undertone day and night, in order to observe carefully all that is written in it; for then your way will be successful and then you will act wisely.”
Jeremiah 31:33 “For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” declares Jehovah. “I will put my law within them, and in their heart I will write it. And I will become their God, and they will become my people.”
NEED FOR LAW.
The need for some code of law became apparent with time in man’s history. Before the advent of such laws, humans, closer to the perfection originally present in our first parents, Adam and Eve, generally lived by their consciences. Likely, discussions of right and wrong actions were among the conversations our first parents had with their children. It was possibly even before a law code existed that Joseph fled from having an adulterous affair with his Egyptian owner’s wife, saying “How could I commit this great badness and actually sin against God?” In the oral history handed down, he knew God had brought the first man and woman together in marriage, and at this, God’s word says: “That is why a man will leave his father and his mother and he will stick to his wife, and they will become one flesh.” (Genesis 2:24). Thus respect for the covenant of marriage was engendered early on, especially among God-fearing persons.
AN EARLY CODE.
One early law code was the code of Hammurabi. This was before the time of Moses. Hammurabi’s code laid down some 282 laws, having been written upon stone pillars within the kingdom of Babylon, so everyone would know the law. Hammurabi is known as the sixth king of Babylon, and is believed to have ruled between 1792 BCE and 1750 BCE. Hammurabi evidently did not write these laws, but brought together and organized existing laws. It became the standard of judgment throughout his empire. Of course, there were some similarities and differences when comparing his law to that of God’s law through Moses. Both codes stated, for instance, that kidnapping a child would bring the death penalty.*
WHY SEVERE PENALTIES?
Why do such laws of man and even God, even today, have severe punishments associated with certain wrong actions? If everyone is aware of the law code, and know how severe the penalty would be for a specific harmful, criminal act, this should serve as a powerful deterrent from engaging in such conduct, thus enabling a peaceful existence to be maintained in society. Just as violating a law of physics, such as gravity, you know could mean your death, so serious moral laws should never be violated either. God reveals at 2Peter 3:9 that He “...is patient with you because he does not desire anyone to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance.” Thus, He wants everyone to understand and respect His laws, which promote genuine peace and happiness among society. Hammurabi’s code even included death for robbery, while God’s law through Moses generally only required returning the item stolen, if possible, and added compensation, totaling up to four or even seven times the amount, depending on what it was. Thus, God’s law was more reasonable in this case, while the penalty still serves to deter the crime. Also, God’s law promoted fairness and equality, whereas Hammurabi’s law considered a crime less serious if it was committed by one with higher social status. More than a crime against man, God’s law made it clear that crimes such as robbery were also being committed against God—who loves His human creation, and wants the peace and happiness of all. They thus were sins against God, requiring forgiveness by Him.
OTHER PURPOSES OF LAW.
We’ve seen that laws can be set as a deterrent from bad actions. But laws can also promote and accentuate good practices and standards. It can be used to set certain payments for government, legal and business services, for instance. It can outline fair practices between entities, whether governmental, commercial, or personal. It can outline a path to help various peoples overcome some disappointing or failing circumstances, to regain their peace, security, prosperity, freedom and/or happiness after some disaster or unfortunate occurrence(s). Laws can thus be used for much good, and contribute to the above-mentioned conditions that human hearts long to experience and maintain. And contrary to the notion that laws are only restrictive, in truth law can even protect various freedoms that promote such happiness among humanity. God’s word reveals that “where the spirit of Jehovah is, there is freedom!” (2Cori 3:17). And James speaks of God’s law as a “perfect law that belongs to freedom.” He writes: “But the one who peers into the perfect law that belongs to freedom and continues in it has become, not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work; and he will be happy in what he does.” (James 1:25). Thus, God’s law can promote wise and good conduct, and help those who adhere to it act with greater wisdom, and find greater happiness. Psalm 19:7-8 says: “7 The law of Jehovah is perfect, restoring strength. The reminder of Jehovah is trustworthy, making the inexperienced one wise. 8 The orders from Jehovah are righteous, causing the heart to rejoice; The commandment of Jehovah is clean, making the eyes shine [“enlightening the eyes”, AMP].” Therefore, God’s commands support truth and true worship in a way that enables obedient ones to find wisdom and joy, to see more clearly where they are on the path of life, and where they are going.
WHAT OF THE RANSOM?
Therefore, the ransom of Christ, while a merciful gift of God, does not do away with law, but rather establishes it. It is having faith, or deep trust, in that merciful provision for forgiveness that enables ones to gradually grow to greater adherence to the law of God. With a deep faith in God and His word and law, we are moved to respond to God’s love by loving Him in return. And 1John 5:3 explains: “3 For this is what the love of God means, that we observe his commandments; and yet his commandments are not burdensome.” Thus by such faith in God’s love, seeing God’s law as a way to know how to love Him in return, true righteousness is made possible, even a complete obedience of the heart of a person. This was not always understood. Some Jews felt that their own circumcision of the flesh itself gave them divine favor. Romans 3:23-24, 29-31 says: “23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and it is as a free gift that they are being declared righteous by his undeserved kindness through the release by the ransom paid by Christ Jesus...29 Or is he the God of the Jews only? Is he not also the God of people of the nations? Yes, also of people of the nations. 30 Since God is one, he will declare circumcised people righteous as a result of faith and uncircumcised people righteous by means of their faith. 31 Do we, then, abolish law by means of our faith? Not at all! On the contrary, we uphold law.” Likewise, for true Christians, baptism itself is not an automatic sign of divine favor, but it is a “request made to God for a good conscience.” (1Peter 3:21). Holding a good conscience, that is eagerly trained by God’s word, with an obedient and loyal heart, brings divine approval, not as something we earn, but as a free gift, by God’s kindness, through the ransom of Christ.
CONCLUSION
FAITH IN GOD AND HIS LAW.
Jesus when on earth taught many principles of divine truth, that aid one to understand God and His ways better, so as to WANT to live by them. Christ’s teachings help us to address our loyalty and faithfulness to God in a heartfelt way, becoming obedient from the heart to God’s standards and laws, promoting true peace, righteousness, and happiness. May we therefore come to delight in the law of God, as others throughout history, and look forward to God’s favored blessings and rewards. This requires faith, or deep trust, in Him, as explained at Hebrews 11:6: “6 Moreover, without faith it is impossible to please God well, for whoever approaches God must believe that he is and that he becomes the rewarder of those earnestly seeking him.” God’s Kingdom will thus help people to comprehend God’s law in a way that they can understand and live by it, seeing it’s wisdom and value in their life.
Perhaps books will be published, with the aim of addressing a certain aspect or topic of God’s law, revealing insight into how it functions to contribute to earth-wide or even universal peace, security, prosperity, freedom, and happiness. They can be written with warmth and understanding, in “plain English” so-to-speak, in a way that may bring delight and satisfaction. May we continue learning of God’s perfect law, that we may live by it, respecting His law and His Son’s teachings, thus honoring our loving God and Father, Jehovah, as the rightful Sovereign of the Universe.

$7-12-17 Hardship Step Up Plan for Restaurants, Taxi services, and other creative businesses.
Prepared in the name of God Jehovah, by Joshua M. Campbell-Elanemy.
GENERAL PROVISION. Anyone under genuine hardship may receive a loan from a Hardship fund from participating restaurants, bars, taxi services (including those having agreements with these businesses). They need only request this service, perhaps bringing with them a simple signed note, which includes a promise to return at some point the proper amount at some point after it becomes available to them, including IF they wish, a few words about their circumstance, and then, as long as there are funds available, they may receive either of the three options, according to their own determination as to their need. If it is only the $7 option required, for instance, they would promise to return it with an additional $5 (equaling the next level up), in this case they would return a total of $12. They needn’t state when it is to be returned, but should keep a record of this obligation/loan and plan ahead to pay it as previously recommended. The restaurant should also provide a postal address (or business card) that would enable the recipient to mail a check, for instance, if they were visiting from another vicinity.
Whereas the individual is permitted to choose either of the three amounts to borrow, it should be allowed that if it is the smallest amount--the $7 amount, that is chosen, to be used for a small meal, for instance, or, in the case of a larger person, if only the $12 amount at this locale has proven to sufficiently nourish or satisfy the individual, only in such circumstances, having received either the $7 or $12, might such one in good conscience be permitted to receive an additional $5 to carry with them outside the establishment, either as one $5 bill, or as five $1 bills. If so, of course, it would be the total of $12 or a $17 that should be returned with the additional $5 step up--while this additional amount is expected, it might be viewed by the individual as an expression of appreciation for the prior loan, as though gratuity. It should be duly noted, however, that while most anyone may take advantage of this kind provision, one attempting in some way to rob from this provision is risking serious financial penalty and criminal charges. Instead, let this one write a note stating their dire situation, then: With extreme clarity write their first name, as well as either their cell phone number or email address. If they don’t have a cell phone, allow the phone carriers Sprint, Consumer Cellular assist! Sprint has tacitly agreed to supply a single phone and at least one month’s service for the $17 Hardship allowance, or, in the case of C.C., a Grandpad (which at the construction of this policy, is being made available for the initial cost of $25, with a monthly charge going forward) for the same amount of $17. Using money made available at the opening of the Hardship Fund, at least three Sprint phones and one Grandpad should be purchased, and kept secure, being made available upon request with proof of the note precisely as instructed. This would require $68 of the initial fund allowance. If desired, the appropriate amount may be forwarded to either company from the business account, after the arrangement is made by telephone, allowing for the quickest response available at the time.
Following this, the money received during the ensuing month toward such devices should be used solely for the purchase of additional phones and Grandpads at the exact same ratio of 3:1 (Sprint phones to CC Grandpads), on or near the same day of the month as the opening date the Hardship Step Up Fund becomes available to the general public—seeking Jehovah’s blessing on this arrangement. Please ensure the individual is given something clearly showing the phone number associated with this phone. If within the first month, they have received any needed assistance, and wish to return this phone, they may attempt to do so, if it is in a clean condition, but it will be accepted only at the sole discretion of the business owner.

What is GOD’s purpose for the Earth? Who does it really belong to, and did HE give much care and attention to it while intending to destroy it soon afterward?
BIBLE DIVINELY INSPIRED. We’ve seen over a few weeks time abundant evidence of the divine authorship of the Holy Bible. Just as evidence abounds over the miraculous act of salvation of all Israel through the Red Sea, with Israel having been in slavery in Egypt, and yet by GOD’s mighty hand being led to the land promised to them and to their forefathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Israel). They became the caretakers of GOD’s written word, beginning with Moses, and ending with Jesus’ aged apostle John. Separating the books of psalms, there were thus total 70 books, recorded by some 40 men, over 1,600 years time. Such numbers have significance to GOD, and no human could have choreographed such a design. According to GOD’s own word, HE has not given away the earth to humans, rather possibly “lent" it to us, but rather, as Exodus 19:5 clearly states by GOD, KJV: “for all the earth is mine.” (Compare Psalm 50:7,10-11). Thus, we may peer into GOD’s inspired word to determine HIS loving will and purpose for this lovely planet and the precious people upon it. Let’s use the King James Version for the critical points of our consideration.
A FEW VERSES: Let’s take a few clear statements made in GOD’s word, that enlighten us as to HIS intentions regarding this planet. What of the very opening words of the Bible: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Thus the indication is that the earth was no temporary fly-by-night thrown-together creation of GOD. It has been here from “the beginning!” While GOD’s word speaks of the earth’s “pedestals” and it’s “cornerstone,” this is GOD using figurative speech to describe the work HE did in creating it. Job 26:7, in fact, declares: “He stretches out the northern sky over empty space, suspending the earth upon nothing.” GOD asked Job: “Where were you when I founded the earth? Tell me, if you think you understand. Who set its measurements, in case you know, Or who stretched a measuring line across it? Into what were its pedestals sunk, Or who laid its cornerstone, When the morning stars joyfully cried out together, And all the sons of God began shouting in applause?” (Job 38:4-7). Thus, did GOD create the earth to be destroyed or to be inhabited? Isaiah 45:18, KJV, says this: “For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.” But for how long? Ecclesiastes 1:4 says this, KJV: “One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.”
FIGURATIVE DESTRUCTION. But if that verse is true that the earth is to last “for ever,” then does that mean people must continue to be born and die in a cycle of life and death endlessly? This is life as we know it under the current governmental framework. But is that GOD’s loving will and purpose for humans? There is a happy end to the cycle! But first, what of mention of the “heavens” passing away and it’s elements “melt” and “the earth...burned up” and “all these things...dissolved?” (2Peter 3:10-11). For all of GOD’s word to be true, this must carry a different meaning, a figurative one. We need only look two verses later for hope: “Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.” Is it reasonable that GOD will destroy this entire universe and planet Earth, creating a new physical universe, to make this one scripture come true literally? Or, what of GOD’s use of the term “heavens” in the Bible to refer to government, and the term “earth” to earthly society or it’s seemingly stable political framework? (Isaiah 1:2; Revelation 12:15-17)
A FEW MORE: Revelation 21:1-5, KJV mentions this “new heaven and a new earth” and says “and there was no more sea.” Is this literal—will the oceans be removed from planet Earth, or does Isaiah 57:20-21 show the figurative meaning of the sea, that there will eventually be no more wickedness among earth’s inhabitants? This verse reads: “But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.” Thus, GOD will step in to arrange HIS own rulership, welcoming mankind into a new society, a peaceful, righteous one, where true happiness may prevail! A few more scriptures reveal such intentions by GOD: Proverbs 2:20-22, KJV says: “That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous. For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it. But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.” Psalm 37:29, KJV says: “The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.” And Psalm 104:1-2,5, KJV: “Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty. 2 Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:...5 Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.” Also, the verses above in Revelation 21 include this promise in verse 4, in reference to His dwelling with "men" (verse 3), KJV: "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."
RESURRECTION! No consideration of GOD’s lovely purpose for planet Earth would be complete without including His intention to restore those “sleeping in death” back to life. Of course, Greek philosophy has taught many that humans have a “soul” that never dies, and this seems to bring us comfort, thinking our deceased loved ones are merely alive in a better world. But what comfort is that to a parent who has lost a precious child to a drunken driver, or in some similar disaster? Did “fate” cause such a thing at GOD’s instigation? Or rather, did that driver with free will fail to prudently see the danger, and to “love thy neighbor as thyself,” which would move him or her to avoid alcohol abuse or find another way to travel? (Proverbs 22:3; Matthew 22:39, KJV). NO—GOD did not need another angel in heaven by robbing parents of their precious child! (Job 34:10,12). Rather, GOD’s word reveals most of our deceased loved ones are alive in GOD’s memory, but “sleeping in death.” (Ecclesiastes 9:5,10; John 11:11-14) 1Thessalonians 4:13-14, KJV, says: “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.” More plainly, verse 13 says this in NIV: “Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.” Thus, Acts 24:15, KJV reveals: “And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.”
THOSE HEEDING GOD’S WORD SPARED. GOD has proven time and again to be a Savior of HIS faithful people. Throughout Israel’s perilous history, GOD fought to protect them on numerous occasions from their enemies. Of course, this same GOD allowed the faithless people of Israel to suffer at the hands of the Romans in the years leading up to 70 C.E. But those heeding Jesus’ own warning, and fleeing at the appropriate time, were spared such troubles. Thus we see FAITH, OR DEEP TRUST, even CONFIDENCE IN GOD AND HIS WORD are vital to our salvation and happiness. (Luke 21:20-22). Rather than believing mere Greek and other human philosophies about God and life, as many people come to trust God and His Word, we are able to grow closer together in unity and peace, understanding and supporting GOD’s true purposes and HIS right ways and laws, as revealed through Jesus. Whereas Jesus was a “son of GOD,” he foretold a “son of man,” born in the line of David, with ruling authority, that would follow in his steps, with GOD’s blessing. (For the Bible’s truth on a few important topics, such as the nature of GOD, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, and the difference between the “spirit” and the “soul”, see the article Finding Truth, elsewhere on this website.)
NOT TO BE THWARTED BY WOULD-BE THIEVES
“YOU ARE WORTHY” Sadly, there have been power-hungry thieves who would try to wrest GOD’s rulership away from HIM and HIS Son, just as Pharaoh believed his gods superior. The issue of GOD’s right to rule mankind, and whose rule is right, is addressed throughout GOD’s Word the Bible. Revelation draws this conclusion, at Revelation 4:11: “11 “You are worthy, Jehovah our God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power, because you created all things, and because of your will they came into existence and were created.”” May we gratefully support GOD’s rulership, as manifest at HIS appointed time, ever appreciative of HIS giving to us “life and breath and all things.” (Acts 17:25). It is GOD alone who can restore by resurrection the lives of our forefathers—parents, grandparents, etc. and HE “longs” to do so, through His Son. (Job 14:14-15; Ecclesiastes 9:5,10; John 5:28-29). HE is moved to do this by HIS greatest governing trait—TRUE LOYAL LOVE! (1John 4:8,16) Thus anyone competing for GOD’s power, after the example of GOD’s powerful enemy Satan, is threatening the lives of billions of people in the grave—all our ancestors, as well as the true peace and happiness eternally that only GOD can bring. How devastatingly cruel and heartless! However, some may be tricked into such a course by Satan or others.
EARTH’S PURPOSE. The foretold son of man supports the Ultimate rulership of the true GOD, the loving Creator Jehovah. Yet it is this same GOD who helped establish the government of the United States enabling much freedom of mankind in harmony with GOD’s good purpose. The Bible reveals Jehovah to be a GOD of freedom, who will no doubt continue to uphold freedoms such as granted by the founding fathers of this nation. The clear Bible teaching of an earthly resurrection helps establish GOD’s purpose for earth—not merely as a testing ground for heavenly life, but as a place wherein people may reside to love GOD and one another into eternity, under a good, true, right, fair and just, peace-loving government! (Psalm 37:29). Jesus did secure some early Christians, however, for heavenly life. And, as we’ve seen, there is a purpose to the stars. Still, Jesus taught all to pray: “Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.” Articles elsewhere on this website help establish GOD’s clear intentions especially regarding our Earth (see, for one, the article: God’s Kingdom—Our Hope).
LOYAL PATIENCE. As mentioned previously in this segment, Earth may well prove to be our “home” planet, as GOD’s purpose is unmistakably universal! May we be patient, as we fulfill GOD’s pressing purpose for us to clean up this planet and educate others in GOD’s ways for an eternal life of peace and happiness. Then, with GOD’s blessing and approval, we may see what HE has in store for faithful humans. An end to earth’s troubles is to come: Isaiah 25:8 promises: “He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.”
CONCLUSION:
Thus, GOD’S WILL “ON EARTH” should be fairly clear:
TO WIPE AWAY TEARS OF SORROW, BRINGING ABOUT TRUE PEACE AND HAPPINESS, WHILE ELIMINATING SIN, SICKNESS, AND EVEN DEATH ITSELF, CROWNING OBEDIENT MANKIND WITH ETERNAL LIFE.
TRUE LOYAL LOVE! May we therefore continue to receive of GOD’s instructions from HIS word, the Bible, making application of it’s counsel in our day-to-day life, growing in our relationships with GOD and others, increasing both our peace and happiness. May family heads look after the welfare of their families, not just physically or materially, but spiritually as well—seeing to the everlasting welfare of those they love. And may as many as possible find GOD’s favor and blessing on into HIS righteous new world, based on HIS greatest governing trait—TRUE LOYAL LOVE!

COME TO CONSENSUS CORNER
This week, let's include another of the policies that God's Kingdom by Christ could utilize to effectively improve working environments. In line with the IMMIGRATION policy revealed earlier, as well as the TRANSITION of some Government Department staff to Community Outreach Service Business Entities, or COSBE's, may allow for not only former government workers to find suitable and rewarding employment, but also enable many U.S. workers in challenging positions such as factory work to better realize their potential, qualifying to use their talents helping others in this way, while talented, good working immigrants, even alongside some formerly imprisoned, yearning for a chance to prove they can live right by God, also learn to handle some of these jobs as they are able, but with improved working conditions, aiming for satisfying employment.
Week 11: ISSUE BY ISSUE ADDRESSED BY GOD’S KINGDOM: PUSHING RESET: LETTING WORK BECOME MORE ENJOYABLE, REWARDING.
Isaiah 65:16-19: “16 So that anyone who seeks a blessing for himself in the earth Will be blessed by the God of truth...For the former distresses will be forgotten; They will be concealed from my eyes. 17 For look! I am creating new heavens and a new earth; And the former things will not be called to mind, Nor will they come up into the heart. 18 So exult and be joyful forever in what I am creating. For look! I am creating Jerusalem a cause for joy And her people a cause for exultation. 19 And I will rejoice in Jerusalem and exult in my people; No more will there be heard in her the sound of weeping or a cry of distress.”
Isaiah 65:22b-23: “22 They will not build for someone else to inhabit, Nor will they plant for others to eat. For the days of my people will be like the days of a tree, And the work of their hands my chosen ones will enjoy to the full. 23 They will not toil for nothing, Nor will they bear children for distress, Because they are the offspring made up of those blessed by Jehovah, And their descendants with them.”
LOOKING FORWARD. While most in the U.S. seem to have been pretty content with their jobs in recent years, there are others who, while grateful to have work, still find it difficult to get through the workday. Many have been in this situation for years, and have gotten by, but have looked forward to a time, under God’s Kingdom, when work would be more refreshing, enjoyable. How might such a change come about?
THE BLESSING OF JEHOVAH. It is understandable that many companies have had to work hard to remain viable in the economy of recent years, and often they have felt forced to tighten the work ethic of their employees, to squeeze out every dime possible in profit, just to get by. Of course, sometimes this is because stock companies are driven to gradually increase profits, rather than just to remain profitable. However, under the rule of God’s Kingdom, good companies to remain will prove more reliant upon God for His blessing on their activities. They will be willing to submit to God’s direction as provided through His son. In recent years, emphasis has more often been placed on the dollar, with some attempt at maintaining a level of security and peace in the workplace. In the process, proper freedoms and happiness of the workers have often been left behind. While the money is a vital part of business, it is “the blessing of Jehovah that makes rich, and He adds no pain with it.” If all look to Jehovah and Christ, there is little reason why most good businesses would not be able to thrive while ensuring the security, peace, and also the happiness of those working for them.
NOTHING BETTER! Because of emphasis on certain scriptures, while neglecting others, some have come to believe God’s new world would be largely work-free, but rather, God made it a gift to man to see good for all his hard work. In fact, Ecclesiastes 2 says “24 There is nothing better for a man than to eat and drink and find enjoyment in his hard work. This too, I have realized, is from the hand of the true God.” Thus, our work should be purposeful, and beneficial toward mankind and in harmony with the will of God. Then, we may rejoice in our contribution to society, to a peaceful, prosperous and happy new world. Of course, there would be time for rest and relaxation. In fact, Ecclesiastes 4 says “6 Better is a handful of rest than two handfuls of hard work and chasing after the wind.” And Micah 4 says “4 They will sit, each one under his vine and under his fig tree, And no one will make them afraid, For the mouth of Jehovah of armies has spoken.” While this prophecy is yet future, still can we not begin to think along the lines of new world living, and start incorporating better habits that will carry us into an eternity of happiness?
WORK SCHEDULES. While there is a variety of work schedules in our economy, for various reasons at each business, there are certain schedules that have become commonplace, and others that have contributed to more peace and enjoyment among workers. What if it was possible to have a common agreeable and reasonable work schedule that gave more time off to workers, while still allowing most a substantial workweek? What if we could “push reset,” and agree on a better schedule for most businesses? One that has found much favor is the four-day, 8-10 hour schedule, especially one that alternates between a Monday and Tuesday start from week to week. Why this? What if you started work on a Tuesday, and worked four days through Friday, looking forward to a normal two-day weekend. Then, the next week, you began Monday, and worked through Thursday, and this time, rather than a two-day weekend, you could enjoy a four-day weekend, Friday through Monday? Would that not allow for some extended freedom and enjoyment on the part of many, determining how best to utilize those four days off, every other weekend? The 10-hour per day schedule is less intrusive to life than a 12-hour schedule, which in practice begins to wear on many people, especially through night work. Some businesses could thrive on the forty-hour workweek, while others may be able to do just as well with a 8- or 9-hour day, and a 32- or 36-hour workweek. However, some factories may need continued work through the rest of the week. What if some workers wanted or needed extra work, and chose to extend their workweek into the Friday and/or Saturday for one week, and into the Saturday for the next? They might need the extra pay, at least for a time. What if other workers could work part-time, just the Friday and/or Saturday one week, and just the Saturday the next? Perhaps the alternating Monday could be downtime used for maintenance personnel on factory equipment, or the part-time workers could also work this day as well. Would not these part-time workers be good candidates to substitute during the regular week when an employee needs or wants off for some reason? The part-time workers could thus substitute during the week on occasion.
OTHER MATTERS. Also, as mentioned, some jobs are more challenging than others to maintain throughout a workday, such as some factory jobs. If we could "push reset," in many cases, could it be possible for the speed of the equipment to be cut back, even just a bit, to take some of the constant pressure or tension off of many workers, while still maintaining reasonable productivity? Understandably, the timing of some machinery may be such that this is not a simple task to achieve. Still,we shouldn't forget that happy workers can be productive workers! Thinking creatively, with God's blessing, there may be other ways to maintain profitability. As well, what if, wherever possible or appropriate, some of the more experienced workers, who’ve perhaps over the years filled several positions in the work at various times, could become sort of “relief workers,” able to fill in for a worker who could use a break for a time, for a drink and a chance to relax, make a phone call, etc. before returning? These relief workers may well know the more trying jobs, and could provide assistance to these more often than others. They might also help each other to learn jobs or skills they may not yet know well enough. And they may start their day by filling in for one of the workers who, on occasion, could meet with a supervisor to discuss progress and improvement on the job, as well as any issues that are impeding productivity or job contentment. Having kind and understanding supervisors, of course, would go a long way to promoting job satisfaction. A relief worker could thus also be available for filling in if someone had a genuine emergency and couldn’t come in, until a replacement shows up for work. Then, certainly, job assignments should be examined on occasion to look for ways to make them less demanding, and more reasonably accommodating to an average worker. And, utilizing workers in the right place may also be useful, as some workers thrive on excitement and busy-ness, while others may tend to be more thoughtful and thorough. Most, still, can rise to the occasion when called upon to do so, but a mismatch of personality could create unnecessary tension in an otherwise contented worker.
TRUE SUCCESS. Thus, most good businesses could do well in such a scenario, as they look to God to bless their efforts and their work to be successful and profitable. You may have noticed Sunday work has not been mentioned. Could not Jehovah’s hand be on the matter, to bless and reward a business that acknowledges His Sabbath requirement, to allow workers time off for spiritual matters? Psalm 127:1 says: “127 Unless Jehovah builds the house, It is in vain that its builders work hard on it. Unless Jehovah guards the city, It is in vain that the guard stays awake.” Therefore, God’s blessing should be sought paramount on one’s business, with the realization that God’s loving and wise ways contribute to true success! Certainly Jehovah can assist with finding the contracts or work necessary to keep a business thriving, or at least afloat through an occasional downtime. In this, TRUE success could be found, in looking to God and wisely supporting the doing of His will toward mankind!
CONCLUSION
LOOK TO JEHOVAH. What blessings could be in store if most all can be respectful of, and agreeable to, God’s direction for the work that will be done to promote security, peace, and happiness among mankind under the rule of His son! When a business owner and fellow employees look to Jehovah for His blessing, in a work that has His smile of approval, while humbly seeking to be guided by God’s wisdom in business and work activities, there is a good chance of it proving successful. If such a business does start to decline, pray about the matter, and look for the answer, trusting that God may well supply it if we act in faith, or deep trust in Him. Proverbs 3:5-6 says this: “5 Trust in Jehovah with all your heart, And do not rely on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways take notice of him, And he will make your paths straight.” Such is the path of a righteous one. Proverbs 4:18 says “18 But the path of the righteous is like the bright morning light That grows brighter and brighter until full daylight.” Revelation also holds promise of a new and better world. After promising an end to such things as death, pain and sorrow, God offers this message: "And the One seated on the throne said: “Look! I am making all things new.” Also he says: “Write, for these words are faithful and true.” (Revelation 21:3-5). May we all look forward to the promised blessings of God’s Kingdom, and the conditions for which human hearts long—the genuine security, peace, happiness, prosperity and freedom that belong to the people of Jehovah!
_______
CONFIDENCE IN THE CREATOR AND HIS INSPIRED WORD VITAL FOR TRUE HAPPINESS.
LIFT UP YOUR EYES ...As we began to consider previously, man’s Creator, GOD, has demonstrated great love, power, wisdom, and even a sense of justice in the way He made the Universe, this planet, and all that is on and within it. This includes such an incredible variety of creatures, and food supporting man, who according to GOD’s inspired Word, the Bible, is the only physical, or physiological, creature made “in GOD’s image,” or after HIS likeness, having capacity for the same qualities and full character such as HE has (Genesis 1:26). The Bible opens with these inspiring words: “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1). Who has raised their eyes to a clear night sky, away from city lights, and not been impressed by the vastness and the sheer number and presumed order of the stars reaching our planet’s view. Notice what the Bible says regarding this: “26 “Lift up your eyes to heaven and see. Who has created these things? It is the One who brings out their army by number; He calls them all by name. Because of his vast dynamic energy and his awe-inspiring power, Not one of them is missing.” (Isaiah 40:26).
DEEPLY IMPRESSED? If you had all the names of these stars in front of you, how many of them could you recall? How long would it take you to learn a thousand, a million, a billion, a trillion? As GOD created them, He reasonably named them, over aeons of time, and Has the capacity to remain familiar with each one. Can we not be deeply impressed, and inspired, as we contemplate and ponder GOD’s great power? Previous to that verse in the Bible book of Isaiah, comes this question from GOD Himself: “25 “To whom can you liken me to make me his equal?” says the Holy One.” Thus, no creation of GOD deserves the same respect, devotion, even worship that only GOD deserves. And by GOD’s own word, another of His inspiring qualities comes to the fore: He is “the Holy One.” Contrary to some opinion, this quality should be quite attractive—it means GOD is pure, clean, uncorrupt, never abusive of His power. That quality does not make Him arrogant, rather it is as He says at Isaiah 57:15: “15 For this is what the High and Lofty One says, Who lives forever and whose name is holy: “I reside in the high and holy place, But also with those crushed and lowly in spirit, To revive the spirit of the lowly And to revive the heart of those being crushed.” Thus this quality is in agreement with His primary quality, LOVE.
THE GOD WHO “IS LOVE”
LOVING GOD AND NEIGHBOR. Not only has GOD revealed tremendous love in the way He made mankind and this earth, but His Word, the Bible, actually goes into greater detail on how this quality is cultivated and demonstrated. Other qualities come together to make up this crowning quality of LOVE, which is not only shown by GOD, but should be shown by humans for GOD and for other humans. GOD’s Son Jesus, revealed the greatest commandments of GOD’s law to descendants of HIS servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, renamed Israel, whose lives are depicted in the first Bible book of Genesis. That law is detailed in the Bible books of Exodus and Leviticus. The fifth book of Deuteronomy explains some of that law, in encouraging GOD’s people at that time to love and obey Him implicitly, en route to the Promised Land of their inheritance. GOD had loyally promised Abraham that his descendants would acquire a land of Promise, a land “flowing with milk and honey.” (Exodus 3:8). The commandments Jesus said were greatest had to do with LOVE—we are to love GOD with all we have, and then our neighbor as ourselves. (Matthew 22:37-39). We show our love for GOD by obeying Him (1John 5:3). IT IS GOD WHO KNOWS BEST HOW HUMANS CAN DWELL TOGETHER IN TRUE PEACE AND HAPPINESS—BY OBEYING GOD FIRST WE THUS MAKE HIM HAPPY, SHOW MORE COMPLETE LOVE TO OTHERS, AND PROMOTE GENUINE UNITY.
BLESSED FOR OBEDIENCE. Abraham’s descendants eventually ended up in Egypt, as slaves, but at GOD’s appointed time, HE loyally saved them from their plight, and keeping His promise to His faithful servant Abraham, eventually brought them into the Land Promised to them. When they obeyed GOD, they were blessed, and under the rule of David’s son Solomon, there was extraordinary peace and prosperity, as a foregleam of earthwide promises GOD has made for the near future in our day, under the promised rule of “a son of man,” born in the line of David, with even greater blessings by GOD. (1Kings 4:25; Jeremiah 23:5; Daniel 7:13-14; Psalm 72:7-8; Psalm 132:10-11; Luke 18:7-8). The Bible book of Revelation, among other Bible books, foretells blessings of a government on earth having HIS approval.
GOD’S PURPOSES LOVING, BENEFICIAL, ENLIGHTENING AND TRUSTWORTHY
HE WILL WIPE OUT EVERY TEAR. Revelation makes this promise: “3 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:3-4). Must all people ascend to heaven for true happiness and peace, or is it possible that such conditions could, with GOD’s blessing, come about right here on planet Earth, “with mankind?”!! The Creator, GOD Himself, has an incredible record of reliability regarding His purposes, just as HE was able to rescue His people Israel out of slavery in Egypt, out of the hands of Pharaoh’s army, parting the Red Sea for their escape, where to this day is evidence of Pharaoh’s chariots and chariot wheels, which God’s word stated HE was removing from the chariots as HE fought against them to protect Israel. (Exodus 14:25, KJV).
TRUST GOD AND HIS WORD FOR SALVATION. What of Pharaoh’s army, who perished in the Red Sea? This story makes it clear that people need FAITH, or CONFIDENCE IN GOD AND HIS WORD for salvation and happiness. How so? You may recall that this occurred only after the Tenth Plague on Egypt, the striking of the firstborn. JEHOVAH is a GOD of freedom—so HE allows people to choose their own course, although there are often consequences to bad decisions. God allowed Pharaoh to become so stubborn, despite all the proof of GOD’s great power over the other gods of Egypt. Still, all that was necessary was the placing of the blood of a lamb or a goat on the doorposts of a home, likely using the animal as for a life-saving meal, for the angel to “pass over” the house and not strike the firstborn. Those showing no faith in GOD or HIS WORD, and didn’t heed the warning, did suffer loss. Still, the seriousness of the matter of letting GOD’S PEOPLE GO and worship Him was also made clear—it had become a life or death matter to GOD. It was the Hebrew Joseph that GOD used to save countless lives in Egypt and elsewhere during the great famine. (Genesis 41:54-57). For hundreds of years Egypt had benefitted from Hebrew labor and toil. Yet, that time was up—rather, it was time for GOD to keep His promise to His Hebrew servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Thus, chasing after GOD’s people, showing no faith in GOD’s power, was risky business. Israel, however, left with a vast mixed crowd of EGYPTIANS—WHO DID PUT FAITH IN GOD, and wanted to worship HIM among GOD’s people. (Exodus 12:38). Thus it was an individual choice to love and obey GOD or not. It is ultimately ENDLESS LIFE IN TRUE HAPPINESS that GOD PURPOSES for obedient mankind. (Psalm 37:29).
CONCLUSION:
JESUS’ SIMILAR PLEA. Did Jesus support this recommendation? Absolutely! Among the important statements He made when being tempted by God’s enemy Satan at the time was this: “It is written: “ MAN MUST LIVE, NOT ON BREAD ALONE, BUT ON EVERY WORD COMING FROM JEHOVAH’S MOUTH. ” (Matthew 4:4). Thus, all should aim to become keenly aware of GOD’s instruction and guidance, benefitting from it regularly, just as we benefit from life-promoting food on a daily basis. Another Scripture stating the value of GOD’s written word, is found at 2Timothy 3:16-17.
UNDER THE RULE OF GOD’S GOVERNMENT, THE STANDARDS SET FORTH IN HIS WORD WILL MAKE POSSIBLE PUBLIC POLICIES THAT PROMOTE HONESTY, FAIRNESS, REASONABLENESS AND HAPPINESS.
It may be that even now adherence to GOD's word is allowing some success in policy-making and follow-through. Many of GOD’s policies are clearly set forth in His Word. Still, some questions remain: Is GOD’s word meant to be understood accurately? How so, and how might misunderstandings have hindered confidence in GOD? Also, how is GOD’s purpose Universal in scope, but what should come first? And, HOW IS IT THAT GOD’S STANDARDS ARE REALISTIC, REASONABLE, RELIABLE AND REWARDING?
_______
Last week’s conclusion included this thought: Tears of sorrow will all but vanish as we address issue after issue needing attention to be in harmony with GOD’s loving ways and wondrous Word! Let’s look at another issue that needs to be addressed in this nation, the United States, in a reasonable and fair way:
IMMIGRATION
JUSTICE? There is a heavy backlog of cases for those wishing to enter our country properly. In fact, last August, the load of cases reached 1 million, not counting an additional 0.3 million “pending” cases. Most must wait months or years for their cases to complete, and many (not all) cases drag on for nearly two years time! At that time, these cases were evidently being handled by less than 500 judges in the court system. With respect to the president, this may have increased since then, and of course these judges work tirelessly to do what they can, and deserve much commendation. How did God feel about such foreigners in His land of Israel? The people of Israel had become foreign residents in the land of Egypt, before God saved them from slavery there. Likewise many early settlers in the land of the United States had been persecuted religiously in their former land, and were able to escape from such to serve God freely in this land. Thus, in this setting, God told Israel they must view them as He views them:
Deuteronomy 10:18-19 “He executes justice for the fatherless child and the widow and loves the foreign resident, giving him food and clothing. You too must love the foreign resident, for you became foreign residents in the land of Egypt.”
When a case arose involving a foreigner, it was to be handled fairly—impartially, the foreigner was not to be misjudged, but treated as fairly as a native of the land. As Moses had instructed Israel:
Deuteronomy 1:16 “At that time I instructed your judges, ‘When you hear a case between your brothers, you are to judge with righteousness between a man and his brother or a foreign resident.”
How might issues involving immigrants or the increasing migrants at our border looking for a safe refuge be resolved adequately? Supposing God’s Kingdom was to begin rule first in this land, before gradually extending to other lands? How might this potentially grievous situation be handled?
FIRST , the case process needs to be streamlined. It is taking far too long to resolve many cases. The qualifications and standards to be met need to be clarified to all, that they may have all necessary information in order and receive judgment more quickly. Would it not be reasonable for any who wish to apply to enter this country legally to be able to be heard in a matter of weeks at most, and have a resolved case within a week or two afterward? Let’s streamline the process early on, so the cases do not unnecessarily drag out.
NEXT , it will take some time to reduce the caseload. We need additional experienced or qualified judges to handle more cases, to speed up this process. While taking some time, even several years, certain cases may still be earmarked for more urgent attention, as with those in special need of refuge. It really shouldn't take this long, but let’s set a maximum goal of 8 years time to resolve all cases, until most every case can be handled in a matter of 1-2 weeks time. Let’s find all those recently retired judges who are now receiving their due social security payments, who are willing to come back for a time, receiving wages along with their SSI payments, to reach a total of 110% of their former wage before retirement. Any who would come back for 4 years may receive this wage for that entire time. Thus there may be some monetary incentive to returning to help with this caseload, but should still be considered a labor of love. Also, let those judges who are in their last 4 years of service consider as well extending their work for an additional 4 years, at 110% of their wages at the time they would otherwise be retiring. Thus, there can be, with God’s blessing, an adequate number of experienced judges to handle the additional caseload.
THEN , where are they to work, when the normal legal process must take place in the courts during the day? Why not arrange for a night court to handle these additional cases, in the same courtrooms as being used in the daytime? Additional security can be hired and provisions put in place to reasonably handle this new arrangement. The number of additional judges should not exceed the available courtroom space for night-time work.
HOW will all this be paid for? Remember, most of those wishing to immigrate to this land are coming from a place of meager means—often they are barely able to feed their families. Getting even a menial job in this land can be far more lucrative than employment in their former land. Why not require family heads to pay a percentage of their wages over 5 years time, gradually reducing the amount each year, until they are free of such? Let’s start with 10% the first year, then drop to 8% the next, and so on until the fifth year they need only give 2%. This will not only pay for the additional judges and costs of running the night court system, but may also make possible a fund for some sort of social intervention where needed in some cases. This 5-year time is evidently also the minimum time someone must hold a green card before they may qualify to become a U.S. citizen. Thus when they’ve paid their last dues, they know they now meet at least that part of the criteria.
ALSO , during the time that a family’s case comes up to be heard, and is ongoing, why not take this opportunity to educate this family as regards the laws and value system of our country? We might ensure computer/internet access and a series of instructional tutorials etc. to accomplish this. After all, God required foreign residents of Israel to keep the same laws, and suffer the same penalties for violating them. Thus, they will need to learn these things to live in our land, and abide by such. Thus, God instructed Israel:
Deuteronomy 31:12 Gather the people together, the men, the women, the children, and your foreign resident who is within your cities, in order that they may listen and learn about and fear Jehovah your God and take care to carry out all the words of this Law.
CONCLUSION
JUSTICE. While other aspects of immigration also need to be addressed, certainly a program such as this could be a fine starting point for dealing with the current situation. Why, there may even be enough money in the immigration fund to assist with payment of a hotel stay for those having their cases heard in the court. And no doubt some of them are eager to get to work--we might even have some perform duties during their stay, to acknowledge their work ethic, and disprove any ideas that immigrants are somehow lazy. This may result in a new hotel chain, for highly clean and inexpensive nightly or even weekly stays for those in need of such accommodations. God’s Kingdom will no doubt lovingly address all such issues in an adequate way, that the conditions foretold for the earth can become a reality—a lovely just and peaceful Paradise, both spiritually, and physically!
