_______(1) Weekly Golden Apples
This segment developed as a way to address current events in the news or look at timely issues from God's perspective, seeing wisdom from God at work applied to the issue at hand, which enables problems to be solved and hope to remain for God's Kingdom blessings. Applying God's word, and not just human wisdom, is a vital part of the key to having His approval and receiving His blessing, as we accept His incoming Kingdom. As one version (NLT) translates Proverbs 25:11, "Timely advice is lovely, like golden apples in a silver basket." (Psalm 127:1,2-5; Proverbs 10:22).

COVID INTERVENTIONS, for Airlines, Gyms, and other transportation and public areas
Proverbs 11:9b, "By knowledge the upright are rescued."
There is mounting evidence, that I recommend now be researched carefully, that ongoing properly installed and utilized genuine UV 100% filtration of an atmosphere, blocked from typical human sight, along with personal protective measures, may be all that's necessary to diminish most COVID concerns in planes, in gyms, and elsewhere.

The Cinnamon Issue
In the past I've raised the issue of the spice cinnamon being damaged, and the resulting fractioned molecules being potentially harmful to human health and a factor in the Flint, Michigan water piping problems. Whereas this is still true, I wasn't initially sure how the cinnamon was being processed to create this problem. I now believe it is being crushed through metallic rollers, rather than by a millstone of some sort, which is most likely the preferable way. This should be remedied swiftly, as cinnamon is proving more beneficial to human health than many have realized, although I've been recommending that it still be used sparingly and had been recommending cinnamon oil or extract as another option for it's use where needed. Please try to find safe cinnamon that has been processed more naturally, and I plead with spice makers to make the proper adjustment to their cinnamon ground spice processing methods!

COVID POSITIVE TEST SURGE ALERT
While many are rightly concerned about the Omicron variant and it's potential threat, some of the tests we have been using to test for infection are based on testing methods that are not accurate. Why were the uncomfortable early tests always going to the back of the nasal passages, rather than to the front of the inner nose? This is because that is the only place where the infection can be truly tested accurately. The front inner nose can safely capture the virus and remove it effectively by our normal immune system. This is normal, and not an indication of infection. There are other ways to test for infection, and one of these, a saliva test, can be most effective and comfortable to the individual. Let's please look into this matter, and once again have accurate numbers of infections, and avoid needlessly overwhelming hospital services. However, if you have had one of these positive test results, why not use this as an opportunity to either vaccinate or get your booster if in accord with time permissions. Of course, if you are feeling sick and experiencing symptoms, then by all means get immediate attention for your likely infection!
Also, we might be reminded that eating or drinking something every minute or so actually works to prevent viral spread, so restaurants, while masks should be recommended in most public places still, might be quick to serve a drink to guests, to inhibit the risk of spread, where unmasking is permitted to enjoy meals. Even before drink ordering, restaurants might consider (again?) providing acceptable ice water as well. We may trust God to bless such arrangements, without breaking things to serve customers, including speed limits.
_______(2) Psalm Select
Here is Psalm 98 (4#9) in it's entirety:
"Sing to Jehovah a new song, For he has done wonderful things.
His right hand, his holy arm, has brought about salvation.
2 Jehovah has made known his salvation; He has revealed his uprightness before the nations.
3 He has remembered his loyal love and faithfulness to the house of Israel.
All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation by our God.
4 Shout in triumph to Jehovah, all the earth. Be cheerful and shout joyfully and sing praises.
5 Sing praises to Jehovah with the harp, With the harp and the melodious song.
6 With the trumpets and the sound of the horn, Shout in triumph before the King, Jehovah.
7 Let the sea thunder and all that fills it, The earth and those dwelling in it.
8 Let the rivers clap their hands; Let the mountains shout joyfully together
9 Before Jehovah, for he is coming to judge the earth.
He will judge the inhabited earth with uprightness And the peoples with fairness.
Psalm 98 (Book 4, 9th psalm) recognizes God's wondrous activity, bringing about salvation to right-hearted mankind. Verse 2 says "Jehovah has made known his salvation; He has revealed his uprightness before the nations." Verse 3 says "He has remembered his loyal love and faithfulness to the house of Israel." Israel, of course, was God's chosen people, whom he loved and favored at one time. But with determined disobedience and rejection of his own son, God's favor shifted toward those having the spiritual faith of Israel's forefather Abraham, rather than simply those born in his lineage. Thus those, including fleshly Jews, walking in line with true Christianity have become the "Israel of God", as God's word explains in Galatians 6:16: "As for all those who walk orderly by this rule of conduct, peace and mercy be upon them, yes, upon the Israel of God." Such ones might also be referred to as "Godly Israel." Verses 3,4,9 of Psalm 98 continue: "All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation by our God. Shout in triumph to Jehovah, all the earth. Be cheerful and shout joyfully and sing praises...He will judge the inhabited earth with uprightness and the peoples with fairness." Jehovah's favor is now upon those looking to Him and his son for direction and guidance in life, leading to their genuine peace and happiness.
_______(3) Proverbs 14
"1 The truly wise woman builds up her house, But the foolish one tears it down with her own hands. 2 The one walking in his uprightness fears Jehovah, But the one whose ways are devious despises Him. 3 The rod of haughtiness is in the mouth of the fool, But the lips of the wise will protect them. 4 Where there are no cattle the manger is clean, But the power of a bull yields an abundant harvest. 5 A faithful witness will not lie, But a false witness lies with every breath."
Prove 14:1: The foolish woman is disregarding God's counsel or discipline, thus is missing out on the spiritual values and wisdom necessary to be spiritually upbuilding to her family. With the "philosophy and empty deception" present in the world today, many otherwise fine men and women have hardly ever been introduced to the value of God's written word, the Holy Bible. The wisdom present therein can almost work miracles in the life of a family or person, and is worth every effort to get to know and understand. Proverbs itself is an especially worthy source of study, and it's first 9 chapters are written like a letter from a loving father to a son, with excellent counsel in how to be successful in life, in God's eyes.
"2 The one walking in his uprightness fears Jehovah, But the one whose ways are devious despises Him."
Prove 14:2: The upright one has genuine godly fear, which is a healthy fear of displeasing or hurting God in some way. HE loves us, especially if we seek to please him, and the man of godly fear does not want to harm that relationship, or hurt God's feelings by disobeying him in some way. This healthy fear of God encourages right and honest conduct, in contrast to the 'devious ways' of some.
"3 The rod of haughtiness is in the mouth of the fool, But the lips of the wise will protect them."
Prove 14:3: The foolish one tends to be haughty in spirit, offended by God's counsel or discipline, rather than humbly accepting it and seeking to improve. We're encouraged in God's word to consider others as superior to us, benefitting from their knowledge and counsel. The foolish would benefit most by listening more than speaking their own ideas and knowledge, remembering we have two ears and only 1 mouth--James says we should be quick to listen, but slow about speaking and slow about wrath or anger. (James 1:19). Some may simply need to learn to ask questions when they are not sure of what to do, rather than guess at it and have problems. Asking Jehovah primarily for help each day can go a long way.
"4 Where there are no cattle the manger is clean, But the power of a bull yields an abundant harvest."
Prove 14:4: The Scriptures encourage hard work as opposed to laziness. Children should not be praised so much for the knowledge they gain, as for putting that knowledge to work to benefit others by it. The praise should be using their knowledge aright, to help others. This encourages them to be busy, good workers. The verse shows hard work pays off in an "abundant harvest."
"5 A faithful witness will not lie, But a false witness lies with every breath."
Prove 14:5: The Christian "new personality" seeks honesty in all things, rejecting lies as displeasing God, the One who "cannot lie" (Titus 1:2). Says Colossians 3:9-10: "Do not lie to one another. Strip off the old personality with its practices, and clothe yourselves with the new personality, which through accurate knowledge is being made new according to the image of the One who created it." However, being honest does not mean we must reveal truth to all persons, including those who might use the knowledge they gain to harm others. According to Ecclesiastes 3:7 there is "a time to be silent and a time to speak." Learning to be honest with ourselves and others is a vital step to become true, a person of integrity or compection. This last term has roots in the words pact and compassion, pact being an agreement. This term carries the sense of feeling for others while at the same time holding firmly and encouraging adherence to God's word and law, with a view to never violating it--instead, finding the answers and encouraging desires for what is within God's law that is better and superior to whatever one may have thought they needed outside of, or without it. I had coined the term on a podcast last year as a term related to heartfelt integrity.
___
"6 The scoffer seeks wisdom and finds none, But knowledge comes easily to the person with understanding. 7 Stay away from the foolish man, For you will not find knowledge on his lips. 8 By wisdom the prudent man understands the way he is going, But the stupid are deceived by their foolishness. 9 Fools make fun of guilt, But among the upright, there is a willingness to reconcile."
Prove 14:6 One who tends to find fault with and ridicule others will not find true wisdom with such an improper self-serving motive. God is not critical of us, but seeks and appreciates the good in us. Scoffers should ponder God's love for all people, including them, that they might repent from reviling, and turn to seeking the good in themselves and others.
"7 Stay away from the foolish man, For you will not find knowledge on his lips."
Prove 14:7 The foolish man may like to talk, but divine knowledge will not be coming from his mouth, at least not in a way that harmonizes with the God of truth. We are to "stay away" from such ones. While we want to help them turn around from a wrong course, humble themselves before God and appreciate his counsel and discipline offered toward them, we shouldn't desire their close association or company, lest we want to become a fool ourselves. Let's treasure wisdom from God.
"8 By wisdom the prudent man understands the way he is going, But the stupid are deceived by their foolishness."
Prove 14:8 The foresighted prudent one looks ahead at the consequences of a right and wrong course, and acts accordingly, sparing harm. Such a person is likely also acquiring wisdom with understanding, to comprehend the entirety of his course in life. The stupid ones, knowing what's right but often choosing not to follow it, are being deceived by their own foolishness. Such ones need to ponder the consequences of doing wrong, of ignoring their relationship with God, and turning their backs on his counsel and loving correction, that they may come to hate a bad course, and begin to fear the true God, wanting His favor and approval.
"9 Fools make fun of guilt, But among the upright, there is a willingness to reconcile."
Prove 14:9 Foolish ones may begin to ignore their conscience, or haven't trained it properly with the wisdom and guidance of God's word. If such a course continues, it will lead to disaster. Guilt over wrongdoing is necessary to enable one to repent of a wrong course, realizing the hurt it may have caused God, others, and him-/herself, and moving one to become determined not to repeat such a mistake, understanding the reasons it was made and how to avert it in the future. One can thus be living in a way that has God's approval and blessing.
___
"10 The heart knows its own bitterness, And no outsider can share in its joy. 11 The house of the corrupt will be destroyed, But the tent of the upright will flourish. 12 There is a way that seems right to a man, But in the end it leads to death."
Prove 14:10 This is why it may not always be correct to say "I know what you're going through", but maybe "I kind-of know what you're going through." It is primarily Jehovah God who can know every nuance of the many factors in causing one to feel bitter, or even joyful. Still, we want to be as compassionate as we can, with the right motive, a pure heart, desiring to be an extension of God's comforting hand in helping them overcome grief, bitterness, or to share their joy. We can be glad simply because they are joyful, knowing the main reasons for it. The Scriptures tell us to "Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep." (Roma 12:15).
"11 The house of the corrupt will be destroyed, But the tent of the upright will flourish."
Prove 14:11 Those choosing a way of badness may seem to prosper for a time, at least materially, as they perhaps make Riches their god. But it is the upright ones who will truly flourish, generally content with the essentials of life, but "rich in fine works," and thriving, even if some have not yet been able to live where they've wanted. Under God's kingdom, however, the people of God "will build houses and live in them, and they will plant vineyards and eat their fruitage. They will not build for someone else to inhabit (slaving for another people, as in the past system), nor will they plant for others to eat. For the days of my people will be like the days of a tree, and the work of their hands my chosen ones will enjoy to the full." (Isaiah 65:21-22). Therefore, choosing to be an "upright" person has the favor and blessing of Jehovah God Himself. Psalm 127:1 says this: "Unless Jehovah builds the house, It is in vain that its builders work hard on it. Unless Jehovah guards the city, It is in vain that the guard stays awake." Let Jehovah "build the house," by choosing to walk in His ways--upholding His standards of what is true, right, good, and just, or fair.
"12 There is a way that seems right to a man, But in the end it leads to death."
Prove 14:12 The Scriptures say to "make sure of the more important things," and "do not rely on your own understanding. In all your ways take notice of [Jehovah], and he will make your paths straight." (PHili 1:10; PRove 3:5b-6) We need God's word to guide our steps in life. While it is commendable to listen to our conscience, it really needs to be trained by God's word and a love for truth, for it to be a more reliable guide in life, in harmony with true wisdom. For example, it might "seem right" to a person to choose to lust after someone's spouse, or marital partner, perhaps trying to convince themselves that it is in the name of "true love" that they're doing so. Granted, there is serious sin that may allow for divorce, but part of the confusion may be the relaxed laws seemingly allowing for divorce on most "any sort of grounds."--that is not God's view. That person might imagine that the spouse is not treating the other as well as they should, or as well as that one thinks he or she might be able to. But is that a reason to interfere with the work of God, who likely brought the two of them together, with a holy vow to love one another? The two marital partners in this case have likely forged a bond over time, a bond that most likely should not be broken. If God blessed the marriage to last, then it brought these two together as "one flesh...So that they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has yoked together, let no man put apart.” (Matth 19:5b-6). Who knows or decides whether God really brought them together in marriage, other than God Himself? Let God remain "the Judge of all the earth"--including the Judge as to what is truly right and wrong for His human creation. (GEnes 18:25; PSalm 67:4). If you've considered acting in such ways in the past, work on cultivating God's loyal love, that seeks to protect or safeguard such relationships, and look to God to help you forge and safeguard your own precious relationships as well.
___
"13 Even in laughter the heart may feel pain, And rejoicing may end in grief. 14 The one wayward at heart will reap the results of his ways, But the good man reaps the reward of his dealings. 15 The naive person believes every word, But the shrewd (or, prudent) one ponders each step. 16 The wise one is cautious and turns away from evil, But the flagrant one is reckless and overconfident. 17 The one who is quick to anger acts foolishly, But the man who thinks things out is hated. 18 The naive will inherit foolishness, But the wise are crowned with knowledge."
Prove 14:13 Laughter and rejoicing may not always stem from the heart, or may be half-hearted, and not indicative of true inner joy, part of the fruitage of God's holy spirit. For example, some laughter may be out of harmony with God's love, which "does not rejoice over unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth." (1Cor 13:6). True joy is a deep-seated satisfaction in one's life, not simply displayed by occasional laughing. And a person may be taught to rejoice over what is bad--how sad, ending in grief!
"14 The one wayward at heart will reap the results of his ways, But the good man reaps the reward of his dealings."
Prove 14:14 If we would stray from God's direction, we will likely suffer the consequences of the wayward course. God is loving and warns us against the things that could cause us harm--it is foolish to ignore divine counsel. A good man even goes beyond what is right, to benefit others, and will be rewarded for his acts of kindness.
"15 The naive person believes every word, But the shrewd (or, prudent) one ponders each step."
Prove 14:15 One of the most vital proverbs, a child must eventually learn to examine what he hears, to test whether he is hearing the truth. The prudent one is foresighted, and ponders the end results of doing or believing something, which may avert disaster. May we overcome any tendency to be naïve. And may we be especially careful to avoid believing religious lies, such as the teaching of hellfire, that could have serious repercussions on our relationship with God and other people. God "IS love", and looks out for the long-term welfare of all people. To some degree, Greek philosphy has contaminated some Christian teaching. According to the Scriptures, while all have a "spirit," only some have an immortal one, not referring to the human soul, which is of flesh, yet may still live forever. (1John 4:8; Ezekiel 18:4; Hebrews 4:12) See the article "Finding Truth" for more details.
"16 The wise one is cautious and turns away from evil, But the flagrant one is reckless and overconfident."
Prove 14:16 Such prudent pondering mentioned in verse 15 will enable us to be cautious and reject an evil path, "hating what is bad." The flagrant one, however, doesn't ponder the right course. Such a person ignores danger, and pridefully trusts in himself more than God, bringing much trouble upon himself and others.
"17 The one who is quick to anger acts foolishly, But the man who thinks things out is hated."
Prove 14:17 "Everyone must be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger." (Jame 1:19). Seeking to compassionately understand the other's point of view or situation can slow down any rising anger, and we should quickly channel any energy into finding a solution to the problem, or seeking the best way to cope with it. Those who haven't yet learned to act so wisely should turn to God for more wisdom, rather than become jealous.
"18 The naive will inherit foolishness, But the prudent are crowned with knowledge."
Prove 14:18 Believing every word, as in verse 15, causes one to act foolishly, while gaining foresighted prudence helps us acquire beneficial knowledge to thwart disaster. Thus, while a young person will tend to be naive to a certain extent, he or she must not remain so. Shrewdness, or prudence, must be acquired--learning to look ahead at the consequences of one's speech and actions--and acting accordingly, in order to avoid prolonged foolishness, which would only lead to trouble. At a reasonable age, parents should encourage their growing or older youth to learn to become more wise, understanding various aspects of wisdom as described and explained in Proverbs, for instance. Yet, a detailed study of Proverbs should most likely not be encouraged for younger ones, still in their childhood, and learning in other ways, before about age 10 or 12. Ultimately, parents or guardians should decide when their child should be encouraged to study such things in depth.
____
"19 Bad people will have to bow down before the good, And the corrupt will bow at the gates of the upright. 20 The poor man is less loved even by his neighbors, But many are the friends of the rich person. 21 The one who despises his neighbor sins, But whoever shows compassion to the lowly is happy. 22 Will not those who plot mischief go astray? But those intent on doing good will receive loyal love and faithfulness. 23 There is benefit in every kind of hard work, But mere talk leads to want. 24 The crown of the wise is their wealth; But the foolishness of the flagrant is only foolishness."
Prove 14:19 Practicers of bad or corruption must one day acknowledge their path is not leading to the happiness they imagined it would, but rather, is leading to spiritual death. They must bow in respect of the good, or upright ones. If their acknowledgement humbles them, they may repent of their error, and in God's mercy, find the path of life and the true happiness they were missing.
"20 The poor man is less loved even by his neighbors, But many are the friends of the rich person."
Prove 14:20 Let's look at this from a spiritual standpoint: Spiritually wealthy ones are learning right, loving, peaceable ways and often do gain many friends, whereas those spiritually destitute may not have many. Once again, may we reach out to such ones, if they might respond to receiving loving, spiritual assistance, to look to God and His word for the wisdom and counsel needed (Prove 2:1-6; 3:5-8; James 1:5). Psalm 34:18 says of God, "Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit." In imitation of our God, may we willingly aim to help those in need, as the upright woman of Proverbs 31 "extends her palm to the lowly one, And she opens her hands to the poor." (Prove 31:20)
"21 The one who despises his neighbor sins, But whoever shows compassion to the lowly is happy."
Prove 14:21 The poor man of the previous verse really should not normally be "despised." May our compassion overcome any tendency to hate or despise others, which would be sinning. Thus we may maintain true happiness, as hatred of others does little to contribute to this. Rather, loving and even praying "for those who persecute you," as Jesus instructed in his Sermon on the Mount, may prove to have a good effect on others, as well as ourselves. (Matth 5:44). May we realize that even those practicing bad are often desperately in spiritual need, and who will be there to lovingly help them? If we cannot do it ourselves, can we at least, with godly insight, overlook an offense, and compassionately pray for them to receive needed help? (Prove 19:11). This is not to say that serious violations should merely be overlooked or brushed aside. Such conduct usually needs to be brought to the attention of those authorized to provide assistance in some way, such as one who claims to be a "brother" but engages in serious immoral conduct (1Cori 5:11-13). Nevertheless, such ones have been known to repent, ask forgiveness, and mend their ways, paving the way for extended mercy. (1Cori 6:9-11). Serious, but lesser sins may be addressed by following the counsel of Matthew 18:15-17. Minor sins, however, may be a different story. Colossians 3:13-14 says this: "Continue putting up with one another and forgiving one another freely even if anyone has a cause for complaint against another. Just as Jehovah freely forgave you, you must also do the same. 14 But besides all these things, clothe yourselves with love, for it is a perfect bond of union." May God reward the love you show!
"22 Will not those who plot mischief go astray? But those intent on doing good will receive loyal love and faithfulness."
Prove 14:22 The rewards are many for those "intent on doing good," rather than plotting mischief! Psalm 18:25 says of God, "With someone loyal you act in loyalty; With the blameless man you deal blamelessly." Thus, such ones receive of God's loyal love and faithfulness, as may be expressed by others. Recall that God "makes all his works cooperate together for the good of those who love God." (Roman 8:28). May we rejoice to receive of God's blessings for pursuing an upright course before Him! On the other hand, how unkind and imprudent, failing to consider the consequences, are those planning to violate right conduct or even harm others! May we NEVER give thought to how we might deliberately ignore God's counsel and pursue a wayward course, but rather, hope in God's blessing and favor, the rewards of uprightness, as we most certainly CAN learn and hold to God's standards and find prosperity and happiness in doing so!
"23 There is benefit in every kind of hard work, But mere talk leads to want."
Prove 14:23 While planning is beneficial and important, is it not the "hard work" that's needed in order to receive the benefits, actually accomplishing what we've set out to do? Merely talking, without appreciation for the effort necessary for success, brings little benefit. In harmony with this, praising others for their head knowledge, rather than for efforts to use their knowledge for the benefit of others, causes laziness. As ones gain knowledge of beneficial skills, that may for instance contribute to their ability to earn a living, why should they not put that knowledge to work, and practice those skills to benefit others and themselves if it is reasonable to do so? How much wiser and better to put good and beneficial knowledge to work, benefitting both ourselves and others!
"24 The crown of the wise is their wealth; But the foolishness of the flagrant is only foolishness."
Prove 14:24 Truly wise ones become successful in life, bringing wealth upon themselves and others. This wealth is primarily spiritual, placing emphasis on one's relationship with God and the blessings of eternal life. However, the skills gained by true wisdom may often bring a measure of material wealth as well, with God's blessing. Still, such ones are typically content with the necessities of life, remaining humbly reliant upon God. Foolish ones rarely apply knowledge skillfully for the benefit of others--most often only selfishly for their own benefit. Any material wealth a foolish one may gain is not accompanied by spiritual wealth, and may even be spent in foolishness, lacking God's blessing. May we willingly continue growing in true wisdom, seeking to apply divine knowledge for the everlasting welfare of ourselves and others, cultivating true love for God and our neighbor.
____
"25 A true witness saves lives, But a deceitful one lies with every breath. 26 There is strong confidence in the awe of Jehovah, And it will be a refuge for his children. 27 The awe of Jehovah is a fountain of life, To turn one away from the snares of death. 28 A multitude of people are a king’s majesty, But a ruler without subjects is ruined. 29 The one who is slow to anger has great discernment, But the impatient one displays his foolishness. 30 A calm heart gives life to the body, But jealousy is rottenness to the bones."
Prove 14:25 "Truthful lips will endure forever, but a lying tongue will last for only a moment." says Proverbs 12:19. The testimony of a true witness may more immediately save a life, but also encourages life by honest, truthful speech, and often sharing important truth with others. A deceitful witness, on the other hand, cannot be trusted to speak the truth, or to act in the best interests of others.
"26 There is strong confidence in the awe of Jehovah, And it will be a refuge for his children."
Prove 14:26 The "strong confidence" that comes with the awe of Jehovah is in Jehovah himself, rather than in oneself. As Psalm 46:1 says, "God is our refuge and strength, a help that is readily found in times of distress." Thus, having this healthy fear of displeasing God, and lovingly teaching it to one's children, will help the children to find this refuge as well.
"27 The awe of Jehovah is a fountain of life, To turn one away from the snares of death."
Prove 14:27 As Proverbs 8:13 says, "The awe of Jehovah means the hating of bad." By seeing the ill consequences of badness, we may come to hate it, steering clear of "the snares of death," and remaining on the path to endless life. Having such awe moves us to share life-giving truth with others, proving this awe to be a "fountain of life." Regarding God's son, Isaiah 11:1-2 says "A twig will grow out of the stump of Jesʹse, And a sprout from his roots will bear fruit. 2 And the spirit of Jehovah will settle upon him, The spirit of wisdom and of understanding, The spirit of counsel and of mightiness, The spirit of knowledge and of the awe of Jehovah." This one sets an example for others, to grow in divine wisdom.
"28 A multitude of people are a king’s majesty, But a ruler without subjects is ruined."
Prove 14:28 Proverbs 29:2 says: "When the upright are many, the people rejoice, But when the corrupt one rules, the people groan." Thus a king does well to pursue true wisdom and uprightness, with the favor and blessing of God, on himself and his people. Turning from uprightness would cause ruin to himself and a poor example to his people, who may thus fall into calamity.
"29 The one who is slow to anger has great discernment, But the impatient one displays his foolishness."
Prove 14:29 To loyally have patience with others, both insight and discernment are shown to prove beneficial. Discernment enables one to judge properly between things, such as right and wrong, true and false, and so on. This makes it possible to have compassionate insight, seeing the real reasons behind someone's speech, actions, and decisions. If someone gets rude to us just after spilling coffee on his brand new shirt, can we not understand and exercise more patience with the person? Being impatient often results in "foolishness," and does little to help the situation.
"30 A calm heart gives life to the body, But jealousy is rottenness to the bones."
Prove 14:30 One who is patient contributes to calmness of heart, as well as one who seeks to avoid the ravages of jealousy. What is jealousy? It is a hateful competitive spirit toward another that seeks to prevent that one from receiving anything that gives the impression that s/he is better in some way. This may cause the jealous one to attempt cruel interference with their enjoying any such honor or possession. The scripture says it is "rottenness to the bones," or "to the core." We also read, at James 3:16, "For wherever there are jealousy and contentiousness, there will also be disorder and every vile thing." EVERY "VILE," or UNWORTHY THING! Such jealousy does nothing to benefit humanity in any way. May we reject any such inclination, and rather, "Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep." (Romans 12:15).
____
“31 The one who defrauds the lowly one insults his Maker, But whoever shows compassion to the poor glorifies Him. 32 The corrupt one will be brought down by his own evil, But the upright one will find refuge in his integrity. 33 Wisdom rests quietly in the heart of an understanding person, But among the flagrant it must make itself known. 34 Uprightness exalts a nation, But sin is disgraceful to a people. 35 The king finds pleasure in a servant who acts with insight, But his fury is against the one who acts shamefully.”
Prove 14:31 Sometimes people sadly keep their distance from a poor person, perhaps not wanting to be seen by others and considered as someone “on their level.” They may be thinking of the popular adage, “Birds of a feather flock together,” or fear others may be thinking that way toward them. A more important Biblical principle, however, might be IMPARTIALITY ("freedom from bias or prejudice"), an aspect of both loyal love and true justice, as Peter stated at Acts 10:34-35: “34 At this Peter began to speak, and he said: “Now I truly understand that God is not partial, 35 but in every nation the man who reveres him and does what is right is acceptable to him.” Some may mistakenly believe that God typically withholds material benefits from wrongdoers, but this is not necessarily so. Recall Asaph, in Psalm 73, lamented how the ungodly often seem to prosper, saying in verse 12: “Yes, these are the ungodly, who always have it easy. They keep increasing their wealth.” He came to realize, however, as we read in verses 18-19: “18 Surely you place them on slippery ground. You make them fall to their ruin. 19 How suddenly they are devastated! How sudden is their finish as they come to a terrible end!” Yes, even economic hardship can befall almost any person, upright or not. Proverbs 24:16 says “16 For the upright one may fall seven times, and he will get up again, But the ungodly will be made to stumble by calamity.” How fine, then, when we show compassion to the poor, as Jesus does! This would include those "poor in spirit," who may be in desperate need of spiritual guidance. While we may appreciate the blessings and benefits of learning godly wisdom, would not God wish for us to unselfishly share it with those we discern would truly appreciate it? Whether poor materially or spiritually, God's son is eager to assist. Notice this, as stated at Psalm 72:12, “12 For he will rescue the poor who cry for help, Also the lowly one and whoever has no helper.” No one should be taking advantage of their plight. For instance, might we be able to diminish the commonality of charging desperate ones exorbitant interest on a loan, perhaps ‘defrauding them,’ just because they don’t have the means or credit to receive a better rate? Recall that even fellow Israelites were to loan to one who became desperate, what they needed, even without additional interest. This is one of the best ways to help someone. Would it not be better in the future, when the economy has stabilized and there are fewer "poor" among us, to consider adjusting our monetary system, to help out the poor, with a temporary low rate, if they must borrow from a financial institution, still while having the means to work off and repay the loan? The government could even step in, matching the low rate to the financial institution for providing a loan with low interest to such a one in genuine need, and in no way squandering the resources. In fact, why couldn't these institutions contribute also by helping in an important way to educate their customers on financial responsibility, and effective budgeting, for instance? Would not God himself reward those displaying a spirit of kindness toward such ones? Perhaps you might think of other ways that the plight of the poor may be taken into consideration. Happily, under the rulership of God’s son, more compassion will be shown to the poor, ‘saving them.’ Psalm 72:13-14 read: “13 He will have pity on the lowly and the poor, And the lives of the poor he will save. 14 From oppression and from violence he will rescue them, And their blood will be precious in his eyes.”
"32 The corrupt one will be brought down by his own evil, But the upright one will find refuge in his integrity."
Prove 14:32 At Psalm 57:6 David says “6 They have prepared a net to ensnare my feet; I am bowed down with distress. They have dug a pit ahead of me, But they fell into it themselves.” David was essentially a man of integrity. Firmly holding to God’s right standards benefits and protects us in many ways. This is the course He blesses. Integrity is wholeness or completeness without corruption. We should never choose to act corruptly, out of harmony with God’s laws or ways. May we continually look to Jehovah for support in pursuing a right course in life, finding and maintaining divine favor, with eternal happiness in view.
"33 Wisdom rests quietly in the heart of an understanding person, But among the flagrant it must make itself known."
Prove 14:33 Of course, "quietly" here does not mean we shouldn't compassionately share divine wisdom with others, to their everlasting benefit! Rather, this indicates that a truly wise person is not a know-it-all, but instead, is humble. Proverbs 1:5 says “5 A wise person listens and takes in more instruction...” An overly proud or morally foolish person often no longer sees the need to listen to others, especially those they consider “beneath” them. James 1:19 says “19 Know this, my beloved brothers: Everyone must be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger.” Most persons are going to have some knowledge that we ourselves do not, that we can benefit from. So should one believe he is so smart that he must always do all the talking? Perhaps such a person is lacking understanding in some respects, as true “wisdom rests quietly,” not loudly, in the heart of an understanding one. One not consistently doing right may be seeking his own glory above God’s, and therefore may deem it necessary to make known his own “wisdom” over and above others. May we be careful to humbly acknowledge God’s right to a good reputation, praising His wisdom as found in His divine word, as bringing the greatest satisfaction and spiritual astuteness to man.
"34 Uprightness exalts a nation, But sin is disgraceful to a people."
Prove 14:34 May we thus encourage such uprightness among others, as leading to true success and happiness before God and mankind. Who knows better what we need to make us truly happy than our Maker, Jehovah God himself? For instance, aren’t we happy to embrace a beloved family member, to have the feeling of touch, along with the other senses? Have you ever had your lower mouth numbed for dental work? How did it feel to touch your chin right afterward? Or, how did it NOT feel? It seems as though your chin is dead, no longer able to feel. Do we appreciate the Creator who Himself placed such sensors over our entire body for our protection and well-being? May we recognize Jehovah as the giver of “every good gift and every perfect present,” and appreciatively use whatever gifts and talents we have in harmony with His right standards and ways, not sinning disgracefully. (James 1:17). God knows how we tick, and what will lead us to the best life we can enjoy! May we be mindful of God’s eternal purpose, and live for the joy that is set before us, not only in serving God now, but everlastingly.
"35 The king finds pleasure in a servant who acts with insight, But his fury is against the one who acts shamefully.”
Prove 14:35 Acting with insight requires compassion, looking at things from another person’s perspective, seeing beyond the obvious. Proverbs 19:11 says “The insight of a man certainly slows down his anger, And it is beauty on his part to overlook an offense.” In this case, understanding why a person was rude to us, for instance, helps us take the action of “overlooking an offense,” letting the offense go, forgetting it. Perhaps they had just spilled coffee on their brand new dress shirt. Understanding this can stir patience with people, smoothing over what could otherwise cause hurt feelings. This is contrasted with acting “shamefully,” or disgracefully, void of thoughtfulness or consideration for others or their feelings. Such insolence upsets the king, whereby he takes pleasure in the empathetic, insightful one. While Jesus Christ is ultimately the king representing Jehovah, any anger he displays is under control, as he looks for ways to assist, even wayward ones! (Isaiah 55:7-9). Why, if the king takes pleasure in one acting with insightful compassion, would not he himself do so? Another translation reads: "The king's favor is toward a servant who acts wisely, but his anger is toward him who acts shamefully." (NASB). May all who would live forever in truly peaceful conditions come to fear God, turning aside from badness, hating shameful conduct. Also, those in authority as kings submitting to Christ's dominion, also taking pleasure in God’s divine wisdom and uprightness, may react similarly.

(26:03.02 (Sha) or y26.302 or d.302 or :3.02, o4/9/26 6:53,56 am EDT) Hello, wishing all well! A new blogpost, 3A! Added (3) Proverbs A, chapter 4 verses 1-8, PR-A(04.1). On post 3B, added (4A) Psalm 119 Preview of Stanzas 15-19, and on post 3C, added (7) Proverbs B, chapter 17 verses 15-20, PR-B(17.5). On the 8-Day this is March or Shuay the 2nd, which is the actual beginning of Spring, again by the 8-Day Calendar! So the winter does end a little sooner than perhaps in times past as God has willed it, despite a trick that was causing it to appear to be sooner than it should have been. We are now currently about 1 1/4 months difference between the 7-Day and 8-Day Calendars, but it may be best to continue with the 7-Day this year in the U.S., until we can build enough consensus to switch with much of the world to the current or true 400-day calendar; we would be off about 2 months by year's end. LAST MONTH 2026 02/12 SPECIAL ADDITIONS AND NOTES NOTE : God's name in some places uses the ( ) for the last letter z. I had found out that a long time ago God actually gave permission to use His name without the plural 'z' ending. Still, He is 'the First and the Last', 'the Alpha and the Omega', 'the A and the Z'. In the case of 'Jehovah(z)', it evidently is still the case, although there is something else to add to this, in the article on the Names of God and His Son; look for this coming up.

(26:02.13 Thd or y26.213 or d.213 or :2.13, o3/18/26 Wed 6:25; 7:08 am; 4:15 pm EST) Hello, wishing all well! Added (3) Proverbs A, chapter 3 verses 9-12, PR-A(03.2). Updates. LAST MONTH 2026 01/12 SPECIAL ADDITIONS AND NOTES (7) Proverbs B, chapter 16 verses 29-33 (conclusion of chapter 16), PR-B(16.7) . Planning tomorrow new posts to include Proverbs A as well or at least Stanza 11 of Psalm 119. A side note: You may notice that the 8-day calendar is the end of the month, Lunarday, abbreviated Lnr. To be clear, Lunarday would normally be a New Moon, not a Full Moon. At one time, GOD had the moon phases lining up with the 8-day calendar, so that the 33/34 day month was the moon's cycle, and the moon phases were always on the weekends--new moon, quarter/first-half moon, full moon, etc. At some point He dropped that when we weren't yet acknowledging the new calendar. But this is something He can or will do when we do begin to recognize it more officially, as other countries have around the world. We are still in the midst of Winter in the U.S., even though Baseball Spring training camp began some time ago, and some were beginning to wonder if it was going to become a Winter sport. Proverbs B posted. Update to Notes above. Update to Proverbs 16, verse 33. Further. NOTE : God's name in some places uses the ( ) for the last letter z.

Thus 2026 2C/12 will start the title. Updated the List of Foundational Articles under (PA) Persistent Articles, returned to 6th place the article Realities of God's Government and Beneficial Standards--some may recall that this was really my 5th article, but in the podcast Win-it Minute Season 2 (WM2 R04.199.200 Introduction Season 2, on Spotify) I did insert the Policy article on More Enjoyable Work as an example policy, so that is the order I chose to post them on this blogpost. With Realities now article 6 (originally 5), that made the Kingdom and the U.S. article number 7 (which was considerably more recent) and now I've added the one even more recent as number 8, Seeking God's Peaceable Kingdom--Paradise . We musn't forget where we were not long ago, and not let go of where we need to be, going! I also left up (7) Proverbs B, chapter 16 verses 29-33, PR-B(16.7) , with updates.

Also, Adding to Calendar Table below, and later the (4A) Psalm 119 Review Stanzas 5-8. Mistake was on Calendar table, you may have noticed in didn't yet add much more to what was done on Sunday, it was that the extra day Himzday was shown on month 2 rather than 3, because normally that day does fall around the end of March/beginning of April, but this year, because the calendars are already 31 days off, that day ends up being in early May instead, end of month 3 new calendar. It will all be corrected soon on this Calendar Table, and I apologize for any inconvenience. Let God help with any corrections that may be needed if some advanced, again they would be between that day April 08 and the day it should be, early May. Further explanation may be found below, with the updated explanation on 26:01.08. Added (4A) Psalm 119 Review of Stanzas 5-8. (26:01.09 Riz or y.109 or :1.9, o2/9/26 Mon 7:54 am EST) Hello, wishing all well! Added (3) Proverbs A, chapter 1 verses 20-23, PR-A(01.4) . (26:01.08 Fwn or y.108 or :1.08, o 2/8/26 Sun 6:27,34; 7:53,56; 8:12; 10:13 am; 2:37 pm EST) Hello, wishing all well! Working on some things, I may adjust the plan not to normally post on Sundays, or at least Righzdays, the start of the 8-day workweek the second week (after a 2-day weekend) which leads to/makes possible the following 4-day or so weekend, still with typically 5-day workweeks with a longer year of some 400-days, which is real and current, not just a possibility or something imagined. The 7-day calendar is now off the real calendar by some 31 days or so, but the weekdays are still close to lining up together, and plans could be made to incorporate or transition, although it's believed that scheduled times are best changed about a month or a month and a half out, rather than so many so soon. With that view, then it turns out that next month, actually March and Peasamake (2nd month 8-Day Cal.) would be the time the calendars once again line up or merge Mar 22 (Sunday and Sonaday) for an entire week or two, being a good time for transition. Events scheduled March 22 through the weekend March 28-29, could be lined up with mid-Peasamake the 17th through the 24th (recall every month on 8-Day is 4 weeks 1-8,9-16,17-24,25-32 plus 1-2 days 33 or 34 long), then the next week both workweeks line up, Righzday through Thunderzday or Thunzday, leading NOT in this case (4X per year) to the 6-day but rather to the normal end-of-month 5-day weekending break, the 4-days plus just Lunarday, the 33rd, after Fanday the 32nd of the month, with Sonaday, following as the 1st of the next month, Shuay, but also a normal day off like Sunday. The special 6-day breaks conclude months 3,5,9 and 11 (Thanksgiving weekend), and this year month 3, because the calendars are already off by some 31 days, is not some days after March but after April, into May. Update. UPDATED THE TABLE AT PAGE BOTTOM FOR NEW CALENDAR TRANSITION , More will be filled in, later today. [Originally the Calendar Table showed month 2, April 8 as a Himzday, one of the 34-day months occurring 4X per year. This was corrected later to month 3, there being over 30 days difference between the 7-day and 8-day calendars that month this year.] (26:01.06 Stz or y.106 or :1.06, o 2/6/26 Fri 7:41,58 am EST) Hello, wishing all well! Planning the post of the new year/Month sometime later this morning, at least the START page/post. Also, the potential for a new podcast work this year, called Winit100, is being considered and may be released, just 100 seconds, a stand-alone rather than part of a weekly theme, although it's possible for more than one to be related or tie together in some way. This would usually relate some thing(s) presented on the website to some news item of interest. This is not to detract from larger interests, however. The plan is for 3X per week, usually every other weekday/workday. Stay tuned...Posted New 2026 blogposts 1-3.
